Dreamer

Dreamer by:Cathy Hapka. The book talks about a girl that lives on a farm but does not own any animals. I chose this book because I love horses and there my favorite animals.
Cale wanted a horse but her dad tells her no so when Dreamer gets injured cale becomes her owner. Cale wanted to go with her dad to work but he wont so one day she comes out the house in front of his truck.
I like that it talks about horses.I like when Cale makes coffee but dosent turn out the right way.I dont like when her dad tells her he will take her with him to work but dosent. I dont like when dis guy told Cales dad to race Dreamer but on the track she ends up injured. This book is good for ages 8-whenever. I would recommend this book to any of my friends. People that will like this book would be girls and animal lovers.

I read the book Graceling by Kristen Cashore, i thought it was great. Although i don't normally listen to audio books mostly because they bore me. But this one had a guy with a funny accent. :) This book was everything I've wanted to hear violence,action-packed but the romance was a little graphic.

kasta has been an assassin since she was eight. She lives in the seven kingdoms where every once in a while a person is born with an over the top skill or grace. The gracelings are fearful that they'll get exploited or selfishly used. But kasta expected to do the dirty work and torture the people her uncle King Randa doesn't agree with or just doesn't like. Then she meets Po(this is the romance).

Po is a mysterious strange stranger. He's a graced fighter the only person to challenge

Kasta to fight. But Kasta and Po realize how much they love one another and are so much alike that they find out thing about themselves and each other. So then they start to date and they must be good at baseball because they always hit home runs. Until they find out that danger is slowly (But not slow enough) is approaching the kingdom. And now Kasta must make a choice save herself a random village girl or Po, who i think could save himself.

i think this story was really good i recommend it for

mature people and people who like books about assassin's finding themselves.

Speak

I read a great book called Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. If you like books that revolve you a BIG secret that will describe all the actions in the rest of the story then pick this book!! I chose this book because it was recommended to me by a teacher! I think it is a great story to describe a girls life and what happened to her! It is 197 pages long but its a easy book to read if you like it!
Melinda (the main character) had a lot of things in her life she hated! She started out school with EVERYONE hating her for a specific reason! She got bullied a lot but what she really wanted is a friend that could help her and always be there for her! There was a boy named Andy who completely ruined her whole life. The only way she can get away from him is by spreading the big secret that has a big impact on her, Andy, and their reputation.
Two things I liked about the book is that it has a good problem and that it pulls the readers attention till the end of the story just so the reader can find out the situation. All the details from the story support the secret. Two things that i did not like is that it gets confusing at some points and that it can take a while to read. I would recommend this book to mostly girls that like to read, can read on about a level 6/1, and that find interest in a different girl's story and how it has a big impact on her life. I would recommend it to a friend!!! If you like books that are about a girls life and some poor choices she made and how if affected the rest of her life then pick up this book and start reading it! I recommend this book for girls mostly! It is just a heart-touching story!

Totally Joe

The book I chose was Totally Joe. The author is James Howe. The story is mainly about a guy named Joe and he is a homosexual and he gets picked on.

Joe always wantes to fit in but everyone made fun of the way he is. So he just did lots of things on his own and he started to slowely fit in.

Two thing I did not like about the book is that it was very detailed and it was very sad because he is trying to be himself and everyone is being mean to him. All he wants to do is be himself and he struggles through that. Two things I liked about this book is that Joe finds a way to stand up for himself. Another thing I liked is that his friends helped him be a stronger person by being there for him and helping him through everything. The age would probaly be appropriate for 10-14. I would reccomend this to a friend. Chick flick people would love this book.

The Cage

I read an awesome book!!!! The name of my book is "The Cage" by Ruth Minsky Sender. It is mostly about a family that tries to survive through the hard times of the 1939's. No matter what happens or what is going on they always try to stay together. Thanks to their friends and family they survive! I chose this book because it was suggested by a great teacher who loves to read!!
This book has a lot of action in it! A "family" has to live through really hard times! Loosing a mother and having to keep a couple of the members in the family alive while trying to hide so you will not loose your life or have to go to labor camp is not easy! One of the main characters named Riva, has to face a lot of challenges! Her mother was taken away with a whole bunch of other Jewish people when they were found. Then Riva tries to survive with her 3 younger brothers (Motele, Laibele, and Moishele.) She also has 3 older siblings (Mala, Chana, and Yankele.) But her older siblings went to Russia so they will be safe there. While she is trying to take care of her brothers she runs into problems! She gets sick and so does her brother! Unfortunately, her brother dies! That caused a BIG change in her life! She then moved out of the apartments and moved to a old shop. After that she decided it was too hard for her to survive so she decided to turn herself into a labor camp. She had a LOT more experience after that but she will never forget the words of her mother "If hope is lost, all is lost."
The two things I loved about this book is that there is a lot of adventure in it and that she solves all her problems independently!! This book is about a girl and her life! She struggles but survives!! She encourages me to do the same! Two things I did not like about the book is that it confused me at some parts and that it has vocabulary words that you need to know to understand the book. To really understand and like the book i can recommend it to boys and girls of age 12 and older. At some points it gets confusing so i will say it is reading level 8/10. If you are a person who loves to read about some difficult times people went through and how it affected the world then this is the book for you!!
