Currahee

The book i read was Currahee by Donald, R. Burnett. Currahee was a 200 page book. the setting of the book is in world war 2. it is about the 101st airborne. the word "currahee" means "stand alone" and it was the chant they would say when they got to the top of a mountain. the training and combat this group of men went through together made them a family.all the men were paratroopers and they all were the first to land in normandy on d-day.there are many other books about the 101st airborne and there extraordinary efforts. i would recommend this book to someone who like history and world war 2.

Beastly

I read Beastly by Alex Flinn. This book is about a boy who has a spell put on him to teach him a lesson about how to not judge people by the way they look. I choose this book because I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie.
Kyle Kingsbury was a selfish, spoiled little rich boy. Kendra was a witch who decided to teach Kyle a lesson, so she put a spell on him that made him look like a beast, fur all over his body, claws, fangs, and all other beast characteristics. The spell was that if he did not find somebody to love him for what he looked like and seal it with a kiss in two years, that he would look like that forever.
One thing I liked about this book was the suspense. I also liked the ending and how much Kyle changed as a result of the curse. There really wasn't anything I did not like about this book. I would definatly recommend this book to a friend or anybody who likes chick flicks. I would also recommend reading the book before you watch the movie and if you have already read the movie, then you should still read the book because it is a really good book.

Home By Morning

I read Home By Morning by Alexis Harrington. This book is about a girl named Jessica Layton and her struggles with love and being one of the few female doctors during the early 1900s. I choose this book because my Kindle recommended it to me.
Jessica wanted to go back o her hometown in Powell Springs to quickly visit with her sister Amy and leave before she had to talk to her ex Cole Braddock. Except the flu epidemic has reached Powell Springs and Jessica is the only doctor around. Now Jessica has to stay longer than she anticipated and some unexpected truths come from unexpected people.
One thing I liked about this book the unexpected turns, and I liked the how the book gave me a lot of mixed emotions throughout out it. I did not like that it was confusing at times, and I did not like that it was kind of boring through most of the book. I would not recommend this book to anybody, but anyone who likes chick flicks might find this book interesting.

Catching Fire

For one of my last books i chose Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I would say his book is a graphic novel. I chose this book because I have read the first one and I'm looking forward to reading mocking jay over the summer.
This book is also about the victors, Katniss and Peeta, from the first book. In this book uprisings start against the capitol, and many people are killed publicly by peacekeepers. The Games in this book are something called a Quarter Quell, which is every 25 years since the first games something is changed in that one  series. This happens to be the 3rd Quell (75 years) and something big has changed. Two former victors from each district go back into the games. So guess who is going back to the games? Katniss and Peeta! Later on in the book Katniss finds out that there was a plan to break her out of the arena, but I'm not going into fine detail about that. Towards the end of the book Katniss and Gale meet up again on a hovercraft and he tells her that when she escaped the arena the Capitol bombed District 12, but her family and his are safe....
Overall this was a great book. I liked how it kept you guessing what was coming next, I also liked the fact that it was an easy read. But I only had one dislike. The ending was abrupt, not telling why but it wasn't the kind of ending that eased off like most books. This book would be appropriate for people who are in middle school+, and for people interested in the first book and suspending books. I would recommend this book... Only if you have read the first book!!!!

So he told them how it is magic by saying you will never age now. They all didnt believe him and let it go but soon they noticed this guy wasnt lieing but they never told anyone and tried to keep it a secret from everyone and act normal. Just like nothing was going on but they were really nervous. They tried to find the guy but he was no where to be found. At first they liked it and thought it would be cool but then things started to change and they hated it. Like there friends got older moved up and they just stayed the same like little people. The Hunger Games

The book I chose to read was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is the first book in The Hunger Gamers trilogy. It is a Science fiction, Young adult book. I chose this book because all my friends have read it and said it was really good.
This book was about a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen who lives in a world called Panem, where North America used to be. The is an annual event called The Hunger Games, which the Capitol's way of saying they rule Panem. It is an event where 2 kids from the ages of 12-18, a boy and a girl, from each of the 12 disrticts, that surround the Capitol, are selected by loterry to fight to the death until there is only one person left. Katniss is from District 12, the poorest of all Districts, and she and her sister Primrose or Prim for short are both in the big bowl to be choosen, since Katniss is 16 and Prim is 12. Unfortunately Prim is choosen as tribute, or a person in The Hunger Games, and Katniss, being the protective older sister she is she volunteers as tribute. So Katniss goes to the Capitol where The Hunger Games are held. She witnesses all of the strange appereances of the people in the Capitol. Then finally comes the games.
Two things I liked about the book was all of the action and how well the author dscribed the details. One thing I didn't like about the book was all of the kids forced to fight to the death. I would say ages from 12-18 are appropriate for this book. I would definetely recommend this book to my friends who haven't already read this book. People who like action would like this book.

Delerium

Recently I read a book called Deleruim.  This book was great.

This book was mainly about a girl named Lena whose mother killed herself.  This memory has haunted her all of her life.  She meets a man named Alex a few months before she gets cured.  She falls for Alex and Alex falls for her.  Alex saved her life many times and she was thankful.

She wanted to be with Alex but she was afraid she was infected with Deleria.  Deleria is a disease that they get when they fall in love.  She was counting down the days when she gets cured.  She meets her match who is the person she will marry when she is cured.  He is cured and very mature.  She hates him and so she runs away and he comes out to try and hep her.  She still doesn’t like him and wants to go visit Alex immediately.

In the middle of the book they go to the Wilds and they stay there for a few days.  The Wilds is where the invalids as they refer to the stay.  The invalids are the people who refuse to get cured.  It is illegal to be out there.  Later she wants to go back out into the wilds and they made a plan to go back out into the Wilds.  That is where the book ended.

This book I would think is for people ages 12 and up because it contains very graphic scenes.  I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read books about dystopian societies and books about fake diseases.

Revenge of the Wannabes

Recently I read the next book in the Clique series.  This books name is called The Revenge of the Wanna-be’s this book was great.

This book is mainly about Claire and her getting more involved in the clique scence no one likes Alicia.  Claire is not taking over Alicia’s place.  Alicia is meanwhile trying to replace all of her friends with the people that look the most like them.  Later in the story she and her new friends get to go to New York city to have a photo shoot.

In the middle of the story Claire and Massie’s families go out to dinner and Claire’s family dropped the ball.  Claire’s father found a house that they will move to.  Massie and everybody else are very upset and Claire and her brother refuse to eat.  Their father finally decides to stay if it is okay with Massie’s father.  They decide to redo the guest house and then they would live there.

In the end of the book Alicia is let back into the group because she does not like her new replacement friends.

I think that the reading level of this book would be ages 11 and up.  I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books about cattieness.

War Horse By Michael Morpurgo

The book I read was called War Horse. The author of this book is Michael Morpurgo. The topic of this book is Joey the horse, who is becoming a war horse as a new war arrives. I chose this book because the book had a appealing cover to it. I also had watched the movie and the movie was good. In this book the point of view is 1st person, Joey.
Joey a young colt was being put up for auction by his owner. After Alberts father brought the new,y win horse home his son ,Albert, was ecstatic. He told his father that he was going to do everything for this horse including his training and feeding. Joey was not to start training until he was a good age so he could develop his strength and stamina. Alberta's dad had started a bet with his neighbor that he would be able to have to horse pulling a plow in a weeks time. He ended up winning the bet after hard work and dedication from Albert and Joey. While Albert was away ringing bells in the town his dad was desperate for cash to keep current on his mortgage. With the war oncoming they needed horses to go over seas and help fight the battle. His dad was about to take away Alberts best friend, Joey. Alberts father was paid 30 pounds for Joey. Joey quickly began his training and was assigned as Captain Nicholls' horse. Although he would train with another person due to Caption was busy. After training they boarded the boat to go to France to fight the war. In the first battle Captain Nicholls was killed. His major assigned a new rider to Joey. His name was Trooper Warren. In the next battle all the troopers were killed and the Major and Trooper Warren were captured and Joey and TopThorn were taken to the medical area. For the next year the two horses were used for transporting the injured and dead to the medical hospital. After they were done with their services the two horses were taken to the nearby farm as payment to the farmer and granddaughter for the use of their land and food. For six months Joey was happy because he was back doing what he was originally trained for, farming. After that the Germans came through and took the two horses from the farmer and his granddaughter to help haul the cannons and wagons. They were used for that for most of the rest of the war. In that time the conditions were very bad with the hot the cold the wet and snow which caused severe health problems to most of the horses. With these conditions TopThorn got very sick and ended up dying. Joey was cut loose from the wagon and during a storm he got caught in barb wire. When he was untangled and brought back to the medical area he later met up with his Albert. To find out what later happened you need to ad the book.
There were a couple things that I liked about the book. One was that Albert and Joey met back up at the end. Another is tithe close bond between TopThorn and Joey. There was nothing about the book that I did not like. I would highly recommend his book to a friend that either liked to read about war or liked horses. This book is age appropriate for the ages of 12+.

I am Number 4

I read the book I am Number 4 writen by Pittacus Lore. The genre is sci-fi. I chosed this book because I saw some of the movie.
The book I am Number 4 is about a kid from a different planet. He is sent to earth to try to save his race from extintion. He is sent to earth with a caretaker. He is chaesed down by mutains.
Two things I liked about the book is that it's actiony, and it's funny. I didn't like that it was long, and that it was slow. It is appropriate for middel schoolers. I would recond mend it to any one who likes action.

Never Underestimate Your Dumbness

I read a book titled Never Underestimate Your Dumbness. This book, by Jim Benton, is the seventh book in the Dear Dumb Diary series. It is not a difficult reading, I just chose it one: because I have read books 1-6 and two: because I wanted a book that I could read quickly.
A girl named Jamie Kelly has and aunt who is getting married to her assistant principal. Her assistant principal is also related to Jamie's worst enemie, Angeline. This book is about the humourous ups and downs of the few weeks before the marriage. It started with the hidious bridesmaid dresses and got all the way down to glittery dog poop earrings. How could it get any worse, you might ask? You'll just have to read it and find out.
Two things I liked about this book was that it was funny and it was a quick read. I would recommend this book to girl fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. That's what I would compare it to - a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book for girls. It is a short book - 150 pages, which may sound long to some of you but it's such an easy read that you can breeze right through it.

The Warriors Heir

The Warriors heir By Cinda William Chima is the first book out of a three book fictional series called the Heirs. this book is about a boy named Jake and he has a special power. I chose this book because i like the cover and the title.
The Book is about Jake, Jake is a Warrior. Warriors are one of the magical gropes. Jack First goes And get his sword that he inherited from his grandmother. When he gets back a man named Hastings trains him to fight. He also learns magic with another person because he is part wizard. Other the training he goes to a tournament called the games where warriors go to fight to represent there how. jack fights for the golden dragons. but he has to face his girl Friend that he Had no idea that she was going to fight .... Read the book to find out more
i liked this book for many reasons some are theres magic involves also there is a lot of fighting.  the of part I did not like is the ending that you need to read.I would recomed this book to enyone that likes magic.

But they stick together and saved each other. They never became selfish and they were always there for each other and ended up winning and saving the rams. Diary of A Wimpy Kid

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about a boy named Greg Heffly and he starts middle school. This book tells you about how to survive middle school. I chose this book because it looked funny and I love funny books.

Greg Heffly always wanted to be popular in his school but just didn't fit in. So he tries new ways to fit in and gets himself into a lot of mess. His best friend is always with him when his older brother messes with them both.

One thing I liked about this book is that it was set up like a diary. Another thing I liked about this book was that it was so funny and they made movies with it. There is nothing I didnt like about this book. This age group is for 11-16. Anyone who likes comedy would absoulutely enjoy this book!!!

                                       DOGSONG :By GARY PAULSON.
DOGSONG is a book about an Eskimo man named Russel Suskitt that hates the way his village is and always complained about it.So one day Eskimo Shaman Oogruk couldnt take his complaing anymore so he said this qoute to Russel "You must leave with the dogs. Run along and find your self. When you leave me you must head north and take meat and see the country. When you do that you  will become a man." So Russel Suskitt did he took a dog team and sled to escape the ways his village is and to find his "song" - his real self.He traveled along ice slopes, tundra, and mountains. Catching Fire

I read Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Just like the first book, this book is a futuristic book and they still have the Hunger Games. This is the second book to the Hunger Games. I chose to read this book because I needed to read the next book after the Hunger Games. I did this because it was to addicting to put down.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!

In the second book Katniss, the victor of the annual 74th Hunger Games, is now living in a new house with enough money to last a lot of family's.But the game makers are not happy with how she and Peeta became victors. Now it is the Quarter Quell. This year, the tributes will be chosen from the pool of victors. Katniss is the only girl victor of twelve. So she has to go back through all the training. But this time she is not training to keep herself alive, she is training to make sure that Peeta stays alive. His life is more important than hers right now.
Two things I liked about this book were, it was as good as the first book and that Katniss tries supper hard to make sure that Peeta stayed alive. It was so sweet. I loved everything. I didn't not like anything. I recommend this book to everyone. I think this book is for action seekers and romance fans. It has both. YOU SHOULD READ IT

The Hunger Games

I read the book Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is a book about a futuristic world were they have a thing called the Hunger Games. I chose this book because I wanted to see the movie but I wanted to have read the book first. So I asked my brother for the book and I read the whole thing in a week.
This book is about a girl names Katniss Everdeen. She lives in a place called the Seam. She has one sister and only a mother. She has a good friend named Gale. Katniss likes to hunt in the forest. She isn't supposed to hunt though. Later in the book, the games begin. Now I don't want to give the ending away so, you will have to read the book before you will know the ending. Sorry.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, what didn't I like about this book? Well my favorite part was when Katniss took the place of her little sister in the reaping. My second favorite part was when Rue died and Katniss covered her dead body in flowers. It almost made me cry. I loved everything in the book. There was nothing to not love. This book is for anyone who loves action. I have already recommended it to all of my friends. This book was the best book I have every read. I even recommended it to my parents. It is an awesome book. Everyone should read it.

Grave Peril

My book is called Grave Peril by Jim Butcher. This is a fantasy book about a modern day wizard named Harry Dresden. I chose this book because it was the next book in the series.

Harry wanted to figure out why so many ghosts were popping up all over the city but he couldn't so he kept trying to figure it out. Susan wanted to go to the Red Courts party but harry wouldn't let her so she went anyway. Michael wanted to help Harry but Michael lost his sword so they retrieved it. The Red Court wanted to kill Harry but they couldn't without getting themselves killed so they invited him to a party where they would provoke him into attacking first.

Two things i liked about this book were the comments Harry makes and the clever tricks everyone does. There was nothing i didn't like about this book. This book is appropriate for adults. Any one who likes magic or fantasy books will like this book.

draw the dark

Draw the Dark is a book written by Ilsa J. Bick. This book is about 330 pages long. The books' topic or genre is mystery. I picked this book because it looked interesting to me.

This book is about a boy named Christain Cage, who is seventeen years old and who lives in Wisconsin. But hes not positive is he will ever find his way back out with his parents'. He also draws other things like peoples nightmares, and he believes they go to "the sideways place".

                                        WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS

                                            By Wilson Rawls.

His name is Billy Colemon he lives with his mother and father, and has two younger sisters. His family did not have alot of money and he was the only one working. This story also took place in the 1800s. So money was much more valuable. The colemons lived on a farm house and his grandpa owned a candy store.Billy had alot of chores around his house like feed the mule. The most thing he wanted in the whole world was a pair of coonhounds alot of people had them and coon hunting was very popular. But his dad didnt have the money for some so Billy started selling eggs, working  with adults with lumber and growing food and selling plus his chores at home his dad asked him how do you have the energy for all this and he didnt tell his dad because he knew his dad wanted and needed a new mule. so over time he kept saveing and finally had enough for two coon hounds so he went to his grandpa for help to order them and he did without telling his dad.So he waited and waited and at night he was going crazy hearing other coonhounds barking and howling. So then he couldnt take it anymore and he snuck out at night on his way to talequa. Then when he came home his dad was happy to see the two red bones but his mom was really mad that he ran away but he had some money left over so he bought treats like clothes and candy for his mom, dad, and sisters. So he trained them all the time and hunted them and got enough coon skins to fill the whole side of his wood shed. Then they competed in an coon hunt competition and ended up winning. They were the best coon hounds in the whole county. But one night they were hunting and a couger attacked billy and the dogs fought it but it ended up killing old dan so he barried it out back and after that lil Ann wouldnt eat or move or do anything without dan so one day she was missing and Billy ran down to old dans grave and she was dead laying on top of it so they barried her next to them and then they moved out of the ozarks but the last day he went down there to say  bye and in between them there was a red fern it was so shocking to them and it symbols love. travel team

this book is called travel team and is written by mike lupica.  travel team is a sports book that talks about the problems of a shot boy.  i chose this book because i have read others by this author.
danny is a twelve year old boy who is the son of a once pro basketball player whose career got cut short because of a car accident.  danny tries out for the travel team but gets cut because he is too short and not because he was not good enough.  his dad comes back and forms his own team of rejects who might just be able to pull off the upset.
two things i liked about this book was that it was about a sport and that it is all about a kid's problems.   there was nothing thet i did not like about this book.  this book is great for kids in middle school who have divorced parents or like sports.

The Hunger Games

The book The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins is the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy. I chose to read this book because it is so popular, and so many people have recommended it. I also wanted to see the movie that just recently came out.
The Hunger Games are a competition to the death created by the Capitol. In each of the 12 districts, 1 boy and 1 girl between the ages of 12 and 18, are chosen to compete on a day known as the reaping. All 24 contestants are put in the arena to kill their opponents and be crowned winner with many gifts such as food and money. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are chosen from District 12. For many weeks they must survive in an unknown territory, without food, or other helpful resources.
I liked this book because it didn't drag, meaning there was never a dull moment, and that I never wanted to put it down. There was not anything I disliked about the book. I would most definately rate it 5 stars. I would recommend it to both girls and boys who enjoy action and fighting.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

I read Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. It was written by Jonathan Safran Foer. I chose to read this book because I saw the movie and it was really good and so I thought the book would be pretty good too. It is mainly about a boy who sets out on a adventure to find a lock to a mysterious key hoping it will make him closer to his dad.

Oskar Schell is the son of Thomas Schell who was killed in 9/11. After his father's death he found a blue vase in his dad's closet. In it was a small envelope with "Black" written on it. Oskar wondered: is it a clue? What does it mean? In the envelope was a key. Oskar figured his dad wanted him to find the missing lock to it, so he did a lot of research and set off on a long adventure to find the "missing lock". He visited a ton of people with the last name of Black hoping they would know something about it. He visited a lot of new places. Abby Black told Oskar to go to her ex husband because she thought he knew something about the key. Oskar went to him and after months of searching he got his answer. It just wasn't the answer he expected....

I enjoyed reading this book. Two things I liked about it were how it was sometimes funny and it was really interesting. There was also a good meaning behind it. The only thing I didn't like about this book was how it was confusing sometimes. I would recommend this book to my friends. It was an inspiring book and I think people should see the movie too.

Sisters Red was a phenomenal book. It was written by Jackson Pearce. This books genre is adventurous and very romantic. I chose to read this book because it seemed like it had just the right amount of fantasy and fiction intertwined.

In this book, Scarlett and Rosie March try to save the worlds teenage girls by hunting the Fenris. Fenris are werewolves that took Scarlett's eye in a attack when she was little. But even when the Fenris seem to be gaining power Rosie finds herself wanting a more normal life. She finds herself falling in love with Silas, a woodsman, Scarlet's only friend, and Scarlett's hunting partner. Does loving Silas mean giving up hunting or life with her sister. Join Scarlett, Rosie, and Silas on their quest to kill off the Fenris, have a normal life, and learn to finally be happy.

I liked that this book had fantasy and fiction. I disliked how mean Scarlett could be. If you liked the Twilight books this is the book for you.

Zoo Break

Zoo Break by: Gordon Korman. This book is realistic fiction and is about a boy named Griffin Bing that is trying to help his friend Savanna. Savvanna owns a monkey named Cleopatra but it was either lost or stolen by a zoo keeper named mr. Nastase. I chose this book because i want to collect all the series and I like books with plans.

Griffin and his friends want justice and respect from older people who think their the best. Griffin is also trying to deal with the fact his best friend is will be moving soon. Savanna wants her monkey but the zoo she see's her monkey at is a floating zoo. Griffin comes up with a plan to rescue the monkey.

This book is interesting, exciting and has another weird ending. It is appropriate for about anyone. Reading level 6+. I would recommend this to people who like adventure and action. There are no pictures but if you like plans this is one of those books. I like this book but there is nothing I don't like.

The Vow

I just finished reading a novel called The Vow by Kim and Krickett Carpenter with Dana Wilkerson. This book was based on a true story about the authors and contained 180 pgs. In this book, Kim and Krickett have to face a huge, life changing challenge that will eventually bring them closer than ever. I chose to read this book because my mom said it was a good movie, so i wanted to read the story.
In this novel Kim and Krickett put their love to the test, and against all odds survive a major tragedy! When Kim Carpenter called Jammin Sportswear in 1992, he expected to hear a blah voice on the other end of the phone, but instead was greeted with an upbeat, beautiful voice that he later found out belonged to Krickett. When he got done ordering his jacket designs, he didn't want to hang up the phone, he wanted to talk to Krickett some more. Kim just couldn't stop thinking about her all day, and it felt like his whole day got better just from talking to her. He wanted to find out more about Krickett so he called a few days later and from then on, they just kept talking to each other. She gave him her home phone number one day because she said she wouldn't be working tomorrow, and eventually they started conversing on the phone for hours every week. Although Kim's phone bill shot through the roof, he just couldn't stop! They soon started sending letters, and photos and they turned out to have feelings for each other. Before he knew it, Krickett was on a plane coming to see him for the whole weekend! He discovered she was very religious, and he admired that. She had also been a gymnast, and was in very good shape! They read and discussed the bible, and one night they just stayed up talking till the morning. Soon more visits were arranged and he met her parents. They kept with this long distance friendship for a long time, and finally, Kim asked for Krickett's hand in marriage! They got married, and fell in love deeper and deeper with each other.
Thanksgiving was just around the corner, so Kim and Krickett packed their things and went to Krickett's parents house for the holiday. On the way there, they had to pick up a passenger(one of their friends) who would ride with them until they reached the airport in Phoenix. Soon after they turned onto I-40, Kim started coming down with a cold, and Krickett took the wheel. All of a sudden Kim was roused from the backseat by a "watch out". Their white For Escort was slammed into by a pick-up truck behind them and then they clipped the back of a red flatbed truck, and lost control. The pick-up truck then hit the driver's side of the Escort and the impact sent the car flying into the air. By the time the car was done rolling, it ended up upside down with Krickett dangling by her seat belt dripping blood. Kim's back was cut up by glass from the broken sunroof, and his face was mangled. The other passenger had only the injury of his shoulder being separated, and there was already people flooding to the scene. Krickett was cut out of the car and airlifted to a hospital(not the same one as Kim). Kim was desperate to see his dying wife, and he might have been close to death too! He got a ride to her hospital and found out that she could die because of serious brain damage.
Recovery was the next step that they had to take. Krickett would have to go through a lot of therapy to recover, and the only reason that she lived was because she was strong, and had so many people praying to God for her(all the way to Russia). Kim would not leave her side, and he pushed her in therapy because he knew she was capable, and for this, Krickett often shouted at him:"Leave me alone! I hate you!" The doctors told Kim that mood swings were normal in people with brain damage, and that she had short term memory loss, so she could not remember anything about Kim or the relationship she had with him. He would not give up on her though, he was determined to have his wife back, and he asked God to guide him, and He did. It was because of God, and Kim and Krickett's love and determination that they can be together, and love each other till death do them part. After all, they made a Vow didn't they?
What I liked about this book was that it was a true story, and it was very compelling, and showed me that if you ask God for help in your journey's, he will help you! There isn't one thing that I disliked about this book, and I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. People that are ages 10 and up could read this book, and people that would really enjoy this book are individuals that like love stories, religious stories, and based on true story novels. This book, overall was a great choice to read!

Soul Surfer

I recently read the book Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton(author), Sheryl Berk(author contributor), and Rick Bundchuh(author). This book's genre is nonfiction and based on a true story about the author Bethany Hamilton and contains 240 pages. In this novel, Bethany has to build up her courage and strength, so that she can embrace her new life with only one arm! I chose to read this story because one of my cousins was reading it and told me it was an amazing book!
In this book, the main character Bethany Hamilton faces something no person should have to go through, life with one arm. She has lived in Hawaii all her life, and is said to have saltwater in her veins. Bethany is a surfer on her way to the pros when something terrible stops her career in it's tracks. Just a normal day, waking up early to go out and surf with her best friend Alana and Alana's dad and brother turned into a nightmare. They were all just floating along in the waters of Kauai, Hawaii when a shark flew out of the water next to Bethany and attacked her left arm! Bethany lay there on her board after the shark retreated as blood filled the ocean around her. She started to feel cold, and instantly started paddling. Alana came to Bethany and yelled for help. Alana's father and brother rushed to them and guided Bethany to shore. They put together a tourniquet for her arm, and all the while, Bethany lie there praying to God. She was sent to the hospital and into immediate surgery.
Bethany's parents, brothers, and friends waited for her to wake at the hospital. The doctor told them the outcome of the surgery: he had to remove Bethany's left arm all the way up to her shoulder. They all knew that this life changing experience would be hard, but that Bethany could do it, and she did! As soon as she was out of the hospital, Bethany wanted to get back into the water! With the help of her Dad's modifications to her board, Bethany started to train again as if she'd never surfed before. She started to win competitions eventually, and then grasped that the title of a professional surfer was not so far away, even with one arm. Bethany never gave up on her dreams, and strived for victory! It was because of her ambition, her belief in God, and her will to surf that Bethany Hamilton got back on her board, and showed the world what she could do!
What I liked about this book was that it was very empowering, and showed me that with courage, you can do anything! This was an awesome book that always had me wanting to read more, and there isn't one thing that i disliked about it. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, and any aged person could read this book. People that like moving, and based on a true story books, would enjoy this story. Overall, this novel was an excellent read!

The Hunger Games

The book I read was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The book was about these 12 Districts that randomly pick kids in-between the ages 12 and 18 to compete in the games to survive hunger in the arena in the capitol. The main charecters are Katness and Peeta. Before they start the games, they have to stay on the metal platform for 60 seconds and if they step off of the platform the land mines will come up from the ground and will plow off there legs.

At the end of the games there is one winner, but in order to know who the winner is you have to read the book. They give the winner a house where they are able to live for all there life.

I would recemmend this book to anyone who likes action or fighting to read this book. If I had to rate this book I would give this book 5 stars.

Just Listen

Just Listen, is a fabulous book. It was written by Sarah Dessen. This book is a realistic fiction novel. I chose to read this book because I have read a few of her other books and like her writing.
"Annabel Greene looked like the perfect girl, the one who had everything." She was a model, a popular girl, and she had the perfect family. It all began to fall apart when her sister Whitney almost died from a eating disorder. Then, when Annabel's best friend, Sophie, accuses Annabel of trying to sleep with her boyfriend, when he really tried to rape her at a party, things changed forever. When Annabel goes back to school in the fall she finds that her world has been shattered. Left as an outcast she sits alone at a wall outside with another outcast,Owen. While she studies him alot she never gets the nerve to go talk to him untill, Shophie causes a horrible scene, and Owen offers Annabel a ride home.....
I liked that you could not put this book down even if you wanted to. I enjoyed that this was a book you could easily relate to. If you liked Sarah Dessens, Lock and Key, you will love this book. This book was appropriate for ages 12+.

Best Friends For Never

Recently I read the second book in the Clique series and it was just as good as the first one.

This book continues the life with Claire and Massie who now are getting along better than ever……or so their parents think.  At the beginning of the book Massie hears some girls talking saying she is losing power over the school and they are going to try and take over with the most awesome Halloween party ever.  Massie hears this and she is enraged she has the perfect plan to get her parents to let her have it.  She and Claire team up and they act like they are the best of friends.

Massie goes to talk to her mother and tell her that Claire came up with the idea.  They start the party planning and they all decide to go to the party as dirty devils.  Massie makes all of the costumes but hides Claire’s so she can’t wear it to school.  Claire turns out to be in luck.  They all get copied at school then finally get called down to the principa’ls office where they learn that they all get a cal home and that they have to change their clothes into the old clothes from the lost in found.

When the time for the Halloween party comes around Claire meets Cam.  The cutest boy in school who likes Massie but Massie does not like him.  They end up talking a little bit together and then they continue to chat throughout emails.  When they get back to school they get a huge announcement.  Their school will now have uniforms due to the mishap on Halloween.  Massie goes down and asks if they can all design their own uniforms and get them verified by the voters.  The principal says yes and that is where the book ends.

Three things I liked about this book was it was interesting and it drew you in.  Also that it was funny.  I only disliked one thing which was it was way too short. I think the reading level for this book would be 10 and up.  I would recommend this book to anyone who liked realistic fiction.

The Clique

Recently I read a book called The Clique by Lisi Harrison.  This book was PHENOMINAL!!

This book was mainly about a girl named Massie who is in the clique with her 3 other best friends.  One day they all decided they wanted to go to the spa but a girl named Claire was moving in to her guest home and her mom insists that she be there to greet their new guests.  Claire is the total opposite of Massie, an all around tom boy.  Massie is the girl that everyone wants to be pretty and popular.  From the moment she sees Claire she knows that it is not going to be fun.

That night at dinner her mother insists that she start to include Claire more in her exclusive group of friends but she will not allow it.  The next day at her carpool with her best friends she has a shocking surprise.  Claire has been invited to come and ride with them to school.  The four girls in the clique talk and talk about her while Claire sits there and thinks to herself that they all hate her and they want her gone.

Throughout the story Claire makes new friends including some of the girls in the cliques by posing as Massie and making them all hate her.  By the end of the story Massie has finally accepted Claire and they all get along.  That is where the book ended.

Three things I liked about this book was it was perfect for my age group and it was a quick read.  Also how it you could relate to all of the characters no matter how much you think that you may not like them.  I did not dislike anything about this book.  I think that the reading group for this book would have to be ages 11 and up.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves drama and cattieness.

Bleach 3

In this book of bleach, Ichigo and Rukia's adventures continue. Rukia is teaching Ichigo about his new soul reaper powers, how to use them. One day when Ichigo was by himself he had gotten himself into a little bit of trouble with a hallow, when a Quincy, a soul reapers worst enemy, named Uidu, shows off, and gives Ichigo, a hard time about being a soul reaper. Quincy's are magical beings that deal with archery, rather then swords, to kill of the hallow,  To find out what happens next, read the book.

The Big Time

The Big Time, By Tim Green is a very good book. The Big Time is about a boy named Troy White. Troy is not like anybody else. just based on a few plays troy can predict a game very easily. Troys coach refers to Troy as being a Football Genius. Troy is already being scouted by many NFL teams and works for one of them. Troy sits on the sideline and tells the coach what play they should run.
Troy never knew his father until now when his dad shows up on his front porch during Troys 12 Birthday party and tells Troy he will be in town for 2 weeks. Troys father has never left Troys mother right after Troys birth. Troy continually sneeks out of his house at night to see his father.

This is a very good book Iwould recommend this book to anyone who likes sports. i would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. Ichose this book becuas it looked good. there are no boring parts in this book. READ IT!!!

Honey, Baby, Sweetheart

I read Honey, Baby, Sweetheart by Deb Caletti. This book is about a girl, her mom, and one of her mom's close friend's love stories. I choose this book because it sounded interesting.
Ruby wanted her mom to get over her dad, but it took a her dad having a baby with another woman for her mom to finally realize that she needed to move on. Ann, Ruby's mom, wanted Ruby to stay away from Travis Becker, but no matter what she does she just can not stay away. The Casserole Queens wanted Lillian to be reunited with her true love, but they would have to break her out of a nursing home and drive her all the way across the country to get there. So now theses girls will overcome their troubles together to mend their broken hearts.
One thing I liked about this book was how close Ruby became with her mom by them helping each other through their heartbreaks. I also liked how sweet Lillian's love story was,it reminded me of the movie Titanic. Two things I did not like was that this book kind of started off slow and how sadly it ended. I think this appropriate for ages 12 and up and I would recommend this book to a friend or anybody who likes chick flicks.

Article 5

I read the book Article 5 by Kristen Simmons. The civil war happened the everything changed. There was no police, just soldiers. No fines, now arrests, trials, and possibly worse. People arrested are usually never seen again. Ember Miller, 17 year old who lived with her mother who got arrested for Article 5, one of the arresting officers was Chase Jennings, the boy Ember has loved since she was little. After the arrest Ember was taken to the "Girls Reformatory and Rehabiliation Center". They hold you there until you are eighteen. Katelynn Meadows a girl from Ember's school went missing and never came home. Then one day after Ember tried to escape, Chase Jennings came to pick up Ember for a trial the next morning in Chicago. Ember did not know there was no trial and Chase Jennings came to capture her to escape which aslo ment he was risking his own life too, they were in search to find her mother and started resistance.

The Vow

I read the book The Vow by Kim and Krickett Carpenter with Dana Wilkerson. After getting in a car accident Krickett had a coma and severe memory loss. She did not remember her husband Kim, and a lot of other things. She did nopt love him anymore because she did not know who he was. This was difficultfor Kim because he had to win Kricketts love back because he loved her more then anything. Krickett expierenced personality changes after the accident. They couldnt of fallen i love again without beliefs, family, and friends.

I read this book because i saw previews for the movie and wanted to read this book, but i didnt really like it because it didnt really have a story line and they kept going over and over parts and it was boring reading.
