HATCHET
HATCHET:By Gary Paulson
Hatchet is a book about a boy who is twelve years old his name is Bryan. He lives with his single mom but every summer he goes with his dad for the whole summer.Bryan's mother sends him to fly to his dad every summer his dad lives in south Carolina. So summer comes and he is off to his dads on an airplane and the airplane has one engine and it blew so they crashed into the ocean and he was the only survivor. So he swims on to shore and has nothing but his hatchet his mother gave him as a present and some life preservers.he was in the middle of no where and far far from a town.He was stranded all alone but he used his hatchet for everything like cutting trees to make shelter. He used wild berries for food or an animal he killed and he ends up finding a stray dog and makeing it his dog and best friend. He uses it to hunt for him.he kept traveling and traveling and finally found a town at the end of the summer and people were amazed and shocked that he was still alive and they recognized him from posters that the town has put up. Then he was known world wide and went back to his moms.I would recomend this book to someone who likes the wilderness and adventureing stories this book is my second favorite book and Gary Paulson is my favorite author.
