I just read the Alchemyst by Michael Scott. The genre of this book is a fantasy or mythological. I didnt have a real reason to read the book, I just got it for my birthday and read it.

Nicolas Flemel is a legendary imortal. He protects the book of Abraham which contains many spells that can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. Dr. John Dee has been chasing Flemel for centuries and he wants to steal the book for one reason. To destroy the world. A pair of twins is supposedly in the prophecy of the legend that can save the world. Those twins could be Sophie and Josh Newman. Can they save the world or will it perish?

One thing that i liked about the book was that it was fast paced but yet there was still a lot of details. I also liked that in the end it leads you to want to read the next one. There wasnt one thing that i didnt like. The reading wasnt to hard but it could be a little confusing. I would reccomend it to anyone who is 10 or older. Also anybody who likes a lot of cliff hangers. There is a lot of them in the book.
