Coraline

The book that I recently read was called Coraline. Neil Gaiman wrote this book. Many of you are probably familiar with Coraline since there was a movie made a few years ago based on the book. The book is different from the movie so I would say to read the book.
In this book a girl named Coraline has to adjust to a new life style when she moves from her home to a new one. She is an only child, so there is never anyone to play with and her parents are always working and rarely have time for her even though they work at home. One day, Coraline decides to explore the grounds around her house and she finds some broken and rusty tennis court, dead garden and a covered well. While she is there she meets a black cat who stares at her for a second then scampers away. When it is time for dinner, Coraline heads home. The next day it rains so Coraline goes exploring around the house and finds a little door that leads to nowhere. That night, a mouse from upstairs wakes her and runs throught the door that now has a tunnel in it. Coraline crawls through and descovers her other parents and a whole world perfect for her. When she tries to leave, they take her parents.
Coraline wants to save her parents but her other mother captured them so she has to go back to the other world. She has to face many obstacles and hardships throughout the book. It is a very easy read. It has a little more than a hundred pages. It was a great book. It was very hard for me to put down and it took me three days to finish. I would definately reccomend this book to others. I think you should be 9 to how ever old since it has some parts that younger kids wouldn't like.
