Accidental Love

I read a book called Accidental Love. It was written by Gary Soto. I chose this book because I read the back of it and it seemed interesting. Accidental Love is mainly about how a tough girl, Marisa falls in love with a nerdy boy, Rene.

Marisa wanted to go to a good school and get a good education, but her school didn't help her do that, so she moved to a new school and used her aunt's address to say that she lived in that district. Marisa had to leave her best friend who was in the hospital because of a car crash, but she fell in love with her best friend's boyfriend's tutor Rene. He went to Hamilton Magnet school which is where Marisa transferred too from her other school. Marisa and Rene stated dating, and Marisa tried to make him not as nerdy. Rene's mom didn't like Marisa at all and she wanted Rene to stay away from Marisa. Eventually, Rene's mom gets mad and does something that makes Marisa really mad.....

Two things I liked about this book are that it was interesting, and descriptive. Two things that I didn't like about this book are that it had a lot of Spanish words that I didn't know, and it didn't really keep me hooked onto the book. I think this book is age appropriate for anyone really, they just should know there is some Spanish in this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a little bit of romance.

The Good Liar-Gregory Maguire

The book The Good Liar is written by Gregory Maguire. This book is about three boys who are in the time period when the Germans are taking over small French towns.

There are are three boys named Pierre, René, and Marcel, they all live in France. The Germans are taking of almost all of France. Marcel and his brothers spend most of there summer playing soldiers, fishing, and having contests to see who the best liar is. Then their mother finds out what happens when Marcel and René go the the lake near by.

Two things I liked about the book were that the words were very descriptive, and I also liked that the book had a lot of adventures so you can't get bored with this book. There was not anything at all that I didn't like about this book. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes to read Historical Fiction.

Beastly by Alex Flinn

I am a beast.
A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.
Kyle didn't believe in magic. Especially witches. Or beasts. Actually, he didn't even believe in love! When he torments a young witch, the witch reveals that he has 2 years to fall in love and be kissed. He is then turned into a bear/dog thingy mcjig...
The witch gives him a mirror to show him everyone in the world... Kyle soon settles on a poor, abused girl named Lindy. One night he discovers an intruder, who trades his daughter for his freedom. His daughter end up being Lindy... Kyle's blind teacher and his maid, Magda all take care of Kyle and Lindy. Kyle's ather is a big news guy and he didn't want anything to do with Kyle being a beast. One question: Will Lindy break the spell?
I chose the book Beastly because I saw the trailer for the movie. I really like the modern twist on Beauty and The Beast. I reccomend this to everyone who likes books into movies.... I'd rate it 4 1/2 stars.....

This book, was ummm.... weird? I liked it, but... ohh it was disturbing! lol I liked it though. i'd reccomend this to Ellen Hopkins' fans! 5 stars!!!! Its a really gross incest story, though.... *SHUDDER*

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Every year the Capitol of Panem, hosts an event called the Hunger Games where two "tributes" – a boy and a girl – are drafted from each of the twelve districts to be brought to an arena and fight to the death. Only one person can win. This is to remind the country not to rebel, and for entertainment, of course. This year, unfortunately, Katniss's little sister, Primrose, is selected for the Hunger Games, so Katniss volunteers to take her place. Also selected is Peeta Mellark, the baker's son, who has a minor crush on Katniss. Maybe. Katniss is the main event of the Hunger Games. She is the star on the x-mas tree. Eithout her, there wouldn't be the facination from the audience. The hole time she's in the Hunger Games, Katniss slowly fades from hunter for her family, to hero for District 12. She makes and breaks bonds... All for Rue, the little girl from District 11. And of course her amily...

The Hunger Games was a thrill ride from the first page. I felt like i was diving off the Grand Canyon into a pool of amazment... :) I loved it. Thank you, Mrs.Henry! i'd rate it 5 stars....

Fallout by Ellen Hopkins

Hunter Haskins; Summer Kentwood; Autumn Shepherd. Three out of five of Kristina Georgia Snow's children. All grown up now, but all still craving that one thing no adult should... Mommy.

Hunter, you may remember from Crank, and Glass. He's all grown now, and he's got a radio/tv show. He's got a beautiful girlfriend named Nikki, who has totally devoted her faith into Hunter. Only, he hasn't devoted much, only the promise to fall asleep next to her each night. Autumn Shepherd is Trey and Kristina's daughter from Glass. She lives with Trey's father and his sister, Cora. Autumn relies on her Aunt Cora. Autumn has a non-exsisting love life. Then Bryce shows up. They fall in love. There's a teensy problem... Autumn doesn't know how to love. Summer Kentwood was once living ith her father and his numerous amounts of 'girlfriends'. Out of all, Summer remembers Zoey, the most violent of all... Summer is then carted around and around to diffrent foster homes. Then she is finally with her dad, and his new girl, Kortni. Her boyfriend Matt, doesn't know really... But Summer cares about his best frined, Kyle. Kyle and her then fall in love.

By now you're wondering, what about the main demon. Kristina. She's running from her psyco ex, Ron with his two sons Donald and David. The two boys end up with Kristina's mom. But how will the young boys cope with everything? Espcecially when everyone starts to smash together?

Personally, I enjoyed Fallout. I have read other Ellen Hopkins' books and I knew i wouldn't be dissappointed. I'd rate it 5 stars...... :)

Crank by Ellen Hopkins

The monster is hard to escape. The monster makes you feel good. Bad. It makes it all fine and dandy. Dangerous and horrendous. Yeah, its pretty bad. Duh. Oh, shut up, already. I will when you do.

Kristina Georgia Snow, was a complete goody-goody. She had an amazing mom, a sexually curious sister Leigh, a caring step-father Scott, and a little brother named Jake. Kristina had great friends, she was smart and pretty. Then, mommy dearest decided it was time for Kristina to venture out to see her crank-addict father. Of course she hadn't planned to meet Adam, the gorgeous crank-addict who lives next door, with his jealous girlfriend Lynx. Kristina decides that she must have Adam. She starts doing drugs. When she has to leave, her family senses her problem, but choose not to deal with it.

Things get out of hand when she meets Chance, known bad boy, and Brendan, boy toy. But how far will they go?

I chose to read Crank because i read Glass, and i almost died from loving it so much! The book is based on a true story, and it's written from Kristina's point of view. I'd rate it 5 stars....

Uglies

I read the book "Uglies", by Scott Westerfeld. The book is basically about a girl who learns what comes first in life and to expect the unexpected. I chose this book because I was talked into reading it by that library lady who was giving us some ideas of books we may want to read. :)

Tally is turning 16 years old in a couple months, which to you doesn't sound like such a big deal. But to Tally and all of the other "uglies" living in UglyVille, that is the day you get to go through a very intense operation that turns you into a "pretty". Being pretty isn't just anything, though. When you're pretty, you live in New Pretty Town and enter the most fantastic life any ugly has dreamed of. You're someone who basically parties every day and does nothing but have pure fun, and Tally can't wait! Tally sneaks over to New Pretty Town every so often to see her friend, Peris, who is now pretty. Tally made a promise to be with him as soon as possible. But as she is sneaking back, Tally meets Shay, who is completely against becoming pretty. They become best friends, until Shay decides to run away to a secret place out in the wild where a lot of other uglies live, and that no pretty can know about. Unfortunately, Special Circumstances gave Tally a very important order, that can change her world. Now Tally has to chose to either betray her friend and become pretty, or break her promise to Peris to live in the wild. What will she pick? You'll have to read and see!

I LOVED this book! It was probably one of my favorite books I've read. 2 things I liked about it was that it was very futuristic, and everything that happened you couldn't predict at all. :) I don't have anything I didn't like about it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes kind of crazy books like the Hunger Games or The Maze Runner. I truly think anyone could like this book! Girls might be more interested in it though.. only because it's from a girl's point of view. But, ya never know !:)

*There's also a sequel to this book. It goes Uglies-Pretties-Specials-Extras, which I'm gonna be reading next! :D*

Cut-Patricia McCormick

The book cut that is written by is Patricia McCormick is a great book. This book is about a girl who cuts herself along with some other problems.

This book is a bout a girl named Callie who cuts herself. Her family signs her up for weekly group sessions with other girls who also have problems. Callie hates the group ythat she has to go to, she thinks that it is a waste of her time. Then she realizes that it is okay to talk about her problems.
I think that some girls would like this book but not all. One thing I didn't like about this book is that in the middle it got kind of boring, but other than that it was a really good book.

The Last Song

The Last Song By Nicholas Sparks is about a seventeen-year-old girl named Veronica "Ronnie" Miller and her little brother, their Father moved to North Carolina. Their Mother decided that is would be best if they spent the summer with their Dad in North Carolina. Well they were there Ronnie falls in love with a volleyball play and college bound boy named Will.

This book is kinda of a good book(the book is better than the Movie). This a Romant Novel. I thought this was a very good book and i liked the movie to. On a scale of 1 to 5 it would be a 5 because it good but in some parts it boring.

Million Dollar Throw

I read the book Million Dollar Throw. This book was written by Mike Lupica. This book is about one boy and one throw and I chose this book because I like to read sports books.

In the book Million Dollar Throw a kid named Nate Brodie who bought a autographed ball with Tom Brady being the one who signed it. He spent over 500 dollars on that ball so he could enter a chance to win a million dollar throw on Thanksgiving night at the Patriot stadium. Nate wanted to win that throw probably  than anything. So Nate and his parents watch Sports Nation to see who would be the winner of the drawings and Nate and his parents were very exited that he one and  went on to that special night.

Two things that i liked about the book was one that Nate was a football player and he never gave up on his dreams. Another is that Nate when he won the throw he wasn't selfish with the money he donated the money to his half blind fiend who is about to go blind an he gave it to her to use as to find a cure. In this book there wasn't two things that I didn't like. This book is appropriate for the age group of 7 and up. I would recommend this book to a friend . I think a guy would like this book more because boys like sports and this is a football book.

The Leanin' Dog

The Leanin' Dog by K.A. Nuzum is a book that is based on a true story. Dessa Dean and her father have suffered a loss of their mama, in the summer. Now a chocolate brown dog has brought their family back together with Christmas miracle:).
Dessa Dean and her father live in cabin at the bridge of the wood. Dessa Dean and her mother were off searching for food, when Jack Frost took her mothers life away. Dessa Dean must now do everything when it comes to cooking and cleaning. Everyday her father goes out and sets his traps for food that he never gets. Every once and a while he gets a deer that lasts them a month or two. But one day a scratching at the door comes. The dog is startled by the gun shot of daddy and runs of and doesn't return until 3 days until Christmas. When she finally returns she will not sleep inside without the door open. So on Christmas day, Dessa Dean is preparing a rabbit that The Dog hunted, and a Cinnamon Bear gets into the cabin with the open door, and smashes Dessa's mother's china and eats everything. Everything including Daddy's whole made fudge that Dessa made for Christmas for him. The Dog chases the bear off into the wood only leaving blood stains and foot prints for Dessa Dean to follow. when Dessa has a daydream about when her and her mother were being frozen to death she falls into the snow and pictures her landing on her dead mother and telling her to wake up. The dog finds her and wakes her up with her warm tung. The two of them trudge through the snow and Dessa is ready to fall to her death, ready to freeze just like her mother. When Dessa Dean wakes up she is in her cabin nice and warm with her father at her side, and then dog at the foot of her cot. Dessa and daddy and The Leanin' Dog go down to the lake to catch some fish to have their Christmas feast.

This book was amazing and I LOVED it! On a scale of 1-10 i would rate it a 10. I would recommend this book to people who like nature books and a sad story with a twist at the end.

If Wishes Were Horses

I read the book, If Wishes Were Horses by Natalie Kinsey Warnock. The book is about a girl and her sister who fight all the time. I chose this book because I was looking for a good book.

In the story, it is the Great Depression. Lily and her sister, Emily, live on a farm. Lily wanted a horse but horses were very expensive during that time so Lily can't have one. Though, when Emily finds a starving little kitten she can have a pet. Then a disaster strikes and know one is sure what will happen.

There are two things I really like about the book. One is I like how the author writes. Second, I like Emily because there were sometimes when I felt that way. There, are also two things I disliked. One, is I don't like the ending. Second, I dislike the way Lily acts sometimes. People who are ten to fifteen might like this book.I would recommend this book to a friend. A girl animal lover would love this book.

I read the book Main Street,by Ann M. Martin. This book is about 2 girls and they have to live in foster homes because there family died.

Flora and Ruby wanted there parents to be alive again but that would never happen. So they go live in foster care with a hole new family.

One thing that I liked about this book was that it was very detailed. Another thing I liked about this book was that it gave me a very good picture in my head about what was going on. One thing I did not like was that it was very sad and emotional. I think this book is goof for kids 10-13. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I would say that this book could go to a girl.

The Scorch Trails

This book The Scorch Trials, written by James Dashner, is an AMAZING book. I have never read anything like it before. It is about a bunch of boys who think that they have escaped WICKED and their evil trials. However, before they know it they are wrapped up in another trick. The maze was only the begining! I would venture to say that this book might have even been better than The Maze Runner!
The 20 boys who made it out of the maze are ever so greatful to the people who rescue them from WICKED, as soon as they got out of the maze. However, this is just WICKED playing another nasty game on them. Soon after they are rescued a man from WICKED appears and tells them what they are to do next. They have to go through a part of the world called the Scorch. This area in the world was burnt by sun flares, and everyone who lives there has a nasty disease called the Flare. From where they are dropped off in the Scorch they must go 100 miles north to reach the 'safe haven'. They have two weeks to get there and if they get there on time they will be saved. All that the remaining gladers want, is to make it to the end to be safe!! However, that doesn't come easy. There are so many things like crazy people, storms, hunger, illnesses, injuries, and many other things that they must go through. Lets just say that the safe haven will be a pure luxury for those left. So, they go through all those things best they can, helping others in the group, whatever it takes!! Oh ya and another thing, you remember Teresa from the first book? Well, she disappears and the gladers don't know where she went. Only enough though for her to return and turn on them all!
Truely probably my favorite book EVER!! This book made me scarred, mad, happy, and sometimes sad!! I loved how James Dashner wrote this book, with so much suspense. I never knew what was going to happen next. If I thought that I did know, it would go in a totally different direction. In the Maze runner I didn't like how some parts weren't explained very well. I this book though he explained everything incredibly and with so much detail. I didn't like, no make that I hated how it ended. There were so many loose ends that didn't end. There HAS to be a sequel to this book. I also didn't like some of the decisions Thomas made throughout the book. For instence, you will just have to read it to find out. Everybody MUST read this book and The Maze Runner!! So I would definetly reccomend this book to people. I don't think that kids under 11 should read it though!

* Thanks Mrs. Henry, and Taylor for talking me into reading this book. *

the five people you meet in heaven

The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom . I just finished reading this book and I loved it . It is so heart warming and sad . I started crying at some points . It is probably one of my favorite books now . I loved how the arthur wrote it and it was just so good , you feel like you don't want the book to end like it's a everlasting story but it just ends . I will probably keep reading this book over and over again it was that good .

This amazing book is about how a guy grows up and then dies trying to save a little girls life from a amusement park ride falling down on to her right in the beginning of the story . Then , he wakes up feeling like a child in a old mans body . He meets a guy who tells him that though his journey he will be learning lessons about his life that sometimes he didn't even realise what happened . There are five lessons and five different people along his journey . But , he still does not know if he saved the little girl form the ride falling onto her . After the lessons he will get to go to heaven .

I loved this book so much because it was it had a good journey and the ending warmed my heart . I did not have anything that I didn't like about this book . I give this book a 10 out of 5 . I recommended this book for people who like adventure .

A Message from the Matchgirl

The book, A Message from the Matchgirl by Janet Taylor Lisle, is a book about a boy with no parents. I chose this book after reading the summary on the back of the book.

In the book, Walter, a  nine- year-old boy, has no memory of his mom who died when he was an infant. Walter wants to know more about his mother but, she is dead so it's hard. Eventuallly, her ghostly voice leads him to a lone statue where his picture was taken when he was young.

There are two things I really liked about this book. One, I like the characters, Walter, Poco, and Georgina. Two, I like how the book was very descriptive and put clear images in my head as I read. There are also two things I disliked. I don't like how Walter felt through most of the book. Also, I disliked Walter's grandma because she isn't his real grandma. People who are teenagers to young adults would like this book. I would recommend it to a friend. Girls would like this book.

Sarah's Key

Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay . This book is a sad but amazing book at the same time . I thought that it was interesting how the girl in the book traced back a history . This is just a amazing book . The history is very true .

Sarah's Key is a book about a girl who lives back when the Jews were being sent to consinteration camps by the British soldiers . Also , its about what she and other people had to do to stay alive . Then the other point of view is from the present day and she is researching about this girl . She wants to know what happened to her . It all matches up in the end .

  • I loved this book because I liked hearing the stories and it was history . I didn't like how sad it was because of what they did to them . Also , how they took away everything they had and distryed it all for the Jews .I reccomened this book for people who like to read about history .

Alice in Wonderland

The title of my book is Alice in Wonderland.Lewis Carroll is the author. The book is about a little girl who has adventures in this mystical land full curious and insane creatures. I chose this book because I loved the disney movie of Alice in Wonderland when I was little(and still do) and the real people version which reasently came out also interested me.
In the book Alice in Wonderland, There are accually two stories that Alice tells about. The first is called "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and the second is called "Through the Looking-Glass".In this Summary, i will tell you a little about "Through the Looking-Glass". Once you've gotten a couple chapters into the book, you will come to find out that Alice wants to become a queen. But first she has to get to the other side of the chess board. So on her way she encounters many strange creatures and everything seems to be backwards in this looking-glass world.
Two things i liked about this book is the adventure and the curiosness. Two things i did not like were the constant change and sometimes stange diolog.I would recommend this book to a friend.probably a girl who likes fantacy.

The thing I like about this book was that it was a really goodd book and I could never put it down. But there was also a few other parts i did not like in the book like there was not a lot of action but other wise it was really good if i had to rate this on a 1 to 5 i would give it a 5.

TTYL- Lauren Myracle

I read the book TTYL by Lauren Myracle. This book is about these three girls who are best friends and make a pact not to let anything break them apart from each other. I read this book because the summary of the book was very interesting and I looked at the pages and t I knew I wouldn't get bored.

This book is about 3 girls who have been friends fro 4 years and don't want to split up now. They made a pact at the beginning of their sophomore year that nothing could break them apart. But then things took a turn for the worst, with love, emotions, and different activities. But none of them have forgotten about the pact.

There are many things that I liked about this book. First thing is that I really liked how the book was written, if you read this book you'll never get bored. Also I liked that not only one person was talking, each one of them had a turn to talk. But the thing is, is that there wasn't one thing I disliked about this book.I would recommend this book to any girl of any age.

Maze Runner

The Maze Runner, by James Dashner is a truely AMAZING book. I chose this book because many people read it (Including Mrs. Henry) and told me (Especially her (: ) how great it was. The book is mainly about a bunch of boys who were sent to a HUMUNGOUS maze, and have to find a way out. However, they don't know why they are there, all their memory is gone. You really should read this book!!

There are about 50 boys who were sent to this big maze. The maze has HUGE stone walls all around with vines and moss hanging from them. Every night the walls close, capturing them inside. But really it is protecting them from evil creatures(GREIVERS). None of them understand why they are there. Their memory has been swipped from their minds, all they remember is commmon sense things. Like what a movie theater is and how to ride a bike but not who was around them when they were doing those things. They call themselves the gladers, and have come up with a little society in the middle of the maze(the glade). All of the gladers are between the ages of about 13 to like 18, all boys! All they want is to escape the maze and go home to their families, even if they don't know them. Every month for two years a new boy has been brought to the maze. However, the day after the LAST boy appears, a girl arrives telling them this is the end. What that means no one is sure. However the sky starts to get gray like the sun dissappeared, and the walls don't close and they realize they must find a way out, and survive. Or die. So Everybody tries their hardest to try and solve the maze, find some way out of this horrid place before it is too late.
Like I said before this book was AMAZING!!!!!!!! There were soooo many things I liked about it. One of those things was that it always left you in suspense. So even when you had to stop reading you really couldn't, it was that intensifying. I also liked the detail of the place and the people and grievers...I could picture it soo great in my head (I felt like I was actually there). Even though it was amazing there were some things I didn't like. First of all....I really didnt like the ending!!! Don't get to attached to any of the characters(in any book for that matter) they just might die on you!! :( Another thing was in SOME, not all, of the really actiony parts it didnt give enough detail, and it wasn't told very well. I would deffinetly reccomend this book to anybody who likes action/adventure stories. But you can't be affraid of a little bit of gorry stuff. Any body who read the Hunger Games series and loved it, believe me you will DEFINETLY love this book.

* There is a sequel to this book, The Scorch Trials. I have already started reading this one and it is just as AMAZING!! =)*

Sweet Little Lies by Lauren Conrad

The book i read, Sweet Little Lies, is about two besties, Jane and Scarlette who land a spot on the new reality show, LA Candy. The two girls think everything is going swell, when all of the sudden, Jane, America's Sweetheart, is on the cover of every magazine. Tehn, Scarlette falls for a co-worker, whic is totally off-limits, but Scarlette thinks that is won't ever be more than a secret fling, but she's mistaken..... So now, Jane is on the run with her annoying co-star Madison Parker, who is soo nice... Or is she???

In this second installment of the series LA Candy, life has gotten pretty sucky for the L.A. Candy stars: Jane is escaping paparazzi after a gossip magazine published pictures of her not-so-secret kiss with her boyfriend's roommate. Scarlett knows that Madison is responsible for leaking the pics, but Jane won't believe it -- which causes a serious fight between the BFF reality stars. Will Jane and Scarlett be able to work things out? What about Jane and her boyfriend, Jesse? And will anyone but Scarlett be able to see coniving Madison's true colors?

I chose the book, Sweet Little Lies, because i liked the cover... I know you're not supposed to, but let's face it, almost everyone has. I really liked this book because Scarlette is negative and she generally hates everyone. It just makes the book good. 3 stars....

The Burmudez Triangle by Maureen Johnson

The book i read: The Bermudez Triangle by Maureen Johnson, a bestselling young adult novel about three best friends whose once-balanced friendship turns and shifts when two of the teens start secretly dating each other.

The novel is a story of the friendship between three teenage girls. They call themselves the Bermudez Triangle, they have their own little chant - basically they are those girls that are inseparable but yet all have different personal interests. Nina is the smart one and is the head of student council. Avery is the musical one who also has a touch of bad girl. Mel is the quiet and shy one, the one they need to push into coming out of her shell. When Nina goes away to a special pre-college summer group Mel comes out of more than her shell - she also comes out of the closet. At least to Avery with whom she starts a relationship. They do not tell Nina although Nina is a bit preoccupied on the relationship front as she's starting a relationship with an eco-warrior named Steve. When Nina returns home she's put in the uncomfortable position in which her two best friends have started dating. It's not awkward because they are both girls, it's awkward because it's her two best friends and suddenly she's on the outside. Well, that and the fact that no one really knows about them except for her. And then, as often happens with high school romances, Mel and Avery's relationship goes up in flames as does her own with Steve. Then Parker comes in, Parker ends up lovingNina, but Nina just uses him. Avery ends up being Bi.

I kinda liked this book. It was really weird, because the whole time i was reading this, I thought of my two best friends doing that. Yeah, never ever gonna think that way again.. But over all, the book was great and the story had humor, drama, and it was a 'chicklette'. Mrs. Henry knows what im saying....

The Ruling Class by Fracine Pascal

At first Twyla has noo friends, then she meets outcast, Deena. Deen&Twyla become close, and they decide to destroy the RCs.
I HATED THIS BOOK WITH THE DEEP INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS!!!
I mean, at times i was laughing but, mostly i wanted to stab all the characters in the juglar vein. The writer needs to take some classes..... 1 star....

Empress Of The World

Empress of the World by Sara Ryan is a dramatic novel about a young scholar named Nicola Lancaster, who is shy, who comes out of her shell and befriends Katrina, a computer nerd, Isaac, the guy who makes the wrong move, Kevin *I wouldn't really consider him a friend..* And Battle Hall Davies, the beautiful dancer from North Carolina. Oh, and I forgot to tell you, Nic and Battle are in love...
Nicola honestly thought she liked guys. But then she met mesmerizing Battle Hall. Battle is a blonde, green eyed, witty dancer who ends up stealing Nic's heart. Then Nic and Battle break up, and then Battle starts dating Kevin. Nic avoids both until, Battle realizes that she loves Nic.
I chose this book because the cover was cute.... I really thought this book was both distubing and facinating... o.0 Anyways, I'd reccomend this to everyone. 5 stars

Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

I read the book Diary Of A WImpy Kid. I honestly didn't care what the back said, I wanted to read it with my friend Emma. When she finished, I read her post on the book, and since she told me specifically not to read it, I read it. To be honest, I hate the book.
The book begins with a seventh grader, named Greg Heffley.
Greg isn't exactly what you would call 'popular' or 'tall'. Greg is short and has one friend who is really irritating named Rowley.
Greg has extremly high expectations on his adult life, thinking he will be famous and rich, so he decided to use a 'journal', to describe everything 'interesting' that happens to him. Greg has a younger brother who calls him Bubby, an older brother who torments him, an over-involved mom, and a weird middle-aged dad. Greg overgoes diffrent expiriences that somehow affect him. In gym he is doing wrestling and is beat by the nerdiest kid ever named Fregley, and then Rowley eats this cheese crap, and then Greg breaks Rowleys arm. Yeah, this book sucked.
The book made me want to gauge my eyes out with a straw. The book was poorly written, and an over-all dissappointment to all the hype it gets from the movie. This book doesn't even deserve any stars. Emma was right, the writer should give up and leave his imaginary life..... I reccomend this to people I don't like.

Pip:The Story Of Olive

I read the book Pip: The Story Of Olive ,by Kim Kane and I really liked it. There was a girl and her name was Olive and had a best friend named Mathilda. Well this new girl comes into school and she tries to steal her friend.

Olive has a best friend but a new friend is trying to steal olives only friend. So Olive does these crazies things to try and make it so that they can both share Olive's best friend.

Two things I liked about the book was that it was very detailed and another thing was that it had a lot of drama in it. One thing I didn't like was that the girl was very brat and another thing was that it was sad. I think this age group is 11-15.I would definetly reccomend this to a friend. I think a girl would like it.

Beautiful Darkness

Beautiful Darkness was written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and is the sequel to Beautiful Creatures. I chose this book because I liked Beautiful Creatures. Beautiful Darkness is about the months after Lena's birthday up to the first few weeks of summer.

Ever since Lena's birthday she hasn't been herself. She thinks she deserves to be Dark because of what happened because she thinks it was her fault. Lena drifted away from Ethan and started hanging out with her cousin Ridley and her friend John Breed who told her about a place where she wouldn't have to be Light or Dark.

Two things I liked about the book were that Ethan got to talk to his mom and Lena got her Uncle Macon back. Two things I didn't like about the book were that Ethan found out his moms "accident" wasn't really an accident and Ridley's "powers" were taken away when she didn't deserve it. I would recommend this book to anyone who read and liked Beautiful Creatures.

The Scorch Trials

The Scorch Trials, by James Dashner, is the second in The Maze Runner series.  The novel picks up right where we left off with Thomas and Theresa being transferred to a new location by their “rescuers.”  Dashner does not disappoint in his follow up novel as Thomas and his friends try to figure out who WICKED is and what exactly they have in store for them.

The Glade survivors are now faced with a new challenge – crossing the Scorch to get to the “safe haven” or dying of the Flare – a disease that has devastated the planet, infecting and killing thousands.  While the Glade survivors still don’t know whether they can trust WICKED, they don’t appear to have any other options.

It is hard to give much plot summary without giving away what happens in the first book, but trust me when I say this is a MUST READ.  I loved the twists and turns and detail that Dashner again included in the plot. The characters are so rich and so personable. I really felt like they were my friends and I was making the trek across the hot, barren desert with them.  The only thing I did not like about this book is the fact that the 3rd book is still in writing. I’m hoping it’s not another year before it comes out! Thomas’ life can’t hang in limbo that long!! I vote we start a petition for James Dashner to write faster!! J

**If you didn’t pick up on my LOVE of this series and this awesome story…come talk to me about it! HOWEVER, DO NOT READ THE BOOKS OUT OF SEQUENCE. THERE IS AN ORDER FOR A REASON!! J

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner,  by James Dashner, is an incredible story that sucks you in from the first chapter. The tells the story of a boy, Thomas, who has been placed in a giant maze along with several other boys. Every day the boys race around the walls of the maze, trying to figure a way out - trying to figure out who put them there and why.  Ms. Osur recommended this book to me after she found out how OBSESSED I was with The Hunger Games series. I think I have found my latest obsession.

The book starts out with Thomas being "delivered" into the maze in an elevator-like box with no memory of his life before. He is greeted by a bunch of other boys, all in their teens. He realizes they have food, supplies, shelter - everything they need to survive - in the Glade (what the boys call the space in the middle of the maze where they live).  During the day, every one has a job. It may be planting and harvesting crops, taking care of the animals, butchering the animals, cooking meals, or being a RUNNER. The runners go out into the maze and explore the maze every day, hoping to find an escape.  Every evening the maze walls mysteriously close. No one is allowed into the maze after the walls close - not that anyone would want to be anyway! That's when the GRIEVERS come out. They are these half-animal, half-machine beasts that savagely kill anyone left in the maze after the walls close.

Everything is routine and normal in the Glade until a girl in a coma is delivered into the Glade the day after Thomas does. All sorts of questions are raised and the boys start to turn on one another. Then, everything IN THE MAZE starts to change.

The Maze Runner follows Thomas in his quest to become a Runner and tries to solve the mystery as to why they are in a giant maze in the first place. As memories start to slowly come back, he starts to piece the puzzle together.

This book had me hooked. I started reading it the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and finished it the next morning! Sleep was not a priority! I was so engulfed in the story and felt like I was in the maze with Thomas and the other characters. The setting is so vividly described and the characters so fully developed - I even cried over a character or two. James Dashner is so descriptive and imaginative, he creates fear for the characters and suspense as you keep turning pages.  This book is a MUST READ - teens, adults...everyone! The novel deals with topics such as government control, individuals fighting against society, and the will to survive. There are definite parallels between our society today and the society of tomorrow in the novel.
Run to the library and get this book out now!:)

**Remember how OBSESSED I was about The Hunger Games?? I would venture to say I enjoyed this even more!!:)  And guess what...there's a sequel!!

Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures was written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The book is about a boy, Ethan, and a Caster girl, Lena, and their journey together until her sixteenth birthday when she has to claim herself Light or Dark. I chose this book because the authors summary interested me.

Lena and Ethan wanted to find a way to be together without causing Ethan physical pain every time they touched. They also wanted to stop Lena from being claimed a Dark Caster on her birthday but there was no way to stop it because it was part of The Order of Things. So on Lena's birthday her mother, one of the most darkest Casters, killed Ethan and Lena had only one option. Save him and give something in return.

Two things I liked about the book were the interesting things the people in Lena's family could do and how many people in Gatlin County don't know anything about where they live. Two things I didn't like about the book were that Ethan only had Amma because his mom died and his dad was depressed and how bad the people in Gatlin treat Lena because she is a newcomer and the niece of Old Man Ravenwood. I would recommend this book to friends and girls 12 and older.

The Warriors: The Darkest Hour

This book is called The Darkest Hour. Written by Erin Hunter. I chose this book to erite about because it is awesome.

The Darkest Hour is the last book in the first series of the Warriors. Tigerstar's terrible reign is finally ended when Bloodclan's leader, Scourge, sliced his throat with claws that were reinforced with dog teeth. But then Scourge decides to drive the other clans out of the forest. Will the other Clans move or stay and fight.

This book was great. Everyone would enjoy this. Every book in this series is good.

catching fire

The book Catching Fire by : Suzanne Collins is about katniss everdeens life after the 74th hunger games. i chose this book because i loved the book THE HUNGER GAMES the first book in the hunger games series. the book is about when katniss and peeta get home from the hunger games and are now living in victors village in district 12 along with haymitch. the the 75th hunger games are coming and president snow has announced this year will be a quarter quell and all the old winners will have to go back into the arena when their name is picked. so when haymitchs name is picked peeta takes his place and goes in with katniss. they also make a few friends along the way. but the games are cut short when a surprising twist in the story happens.
the reason why i liked this book is because you never knew what was going to happen next. i also liked this book because its about having the will to survive and never giving to up.theres not really anything i did not like about the book. this book is a good book for teens and twilight fans who like a lot of action.

The book Speak is by Laurie Anderson. The character Melinda lives in a world of nothingness. She doesn't have friends, has no life, and doesn't speak.
Melinda is an outcast. The end-of-summer party a 12 grader was holding ended in total disaster. Now Melinda is hated by everyone. She called the cops! You must read to find out why (trust me its worth it).
I choose the book Speak by Laurie Anderson because everyone told me it was a really good movie. I thought why not read the book. I really liked how it got more and more interesting every sentence. I also liked that Speak wasn't confusing. I didn't like that it didnt show me grades at the end of the fourth quarter. I reccomend this book to every girl.

The book Brian's Hunt is written by Gary Paulsen. I chose this book because the book seemed like a nice book to read about an amazing hunt. It wasn't an amazing hunt though. It was a hunt that made your heart pound and made you want jump right into the book.
Brian was the only survivor of the plane crash. He lived on his own for quiet some time until the dog showed up. The dog was his friend, he helped him through everything that came his was... including the hunt.
I like that this book was short and I couldn't put the it down. I didn't like that sometimes I didn't want to read because it got a little boring. I also didnt like that i gave me very little info in the beginning. I reccomend this book to anyone who hunts. This book is age appropriate for 12-15

What I liked about this book was that they all get along and try to fight what they are havin trouble with and that they will do anything to finish what they had started. Two things I didn't likewas when one of them had to take a job that she dosen't want to have but take it and that her six sisters will not help her with her job that she is taken. This book is for teenagers and adults it will be thirteen and up.I will not recommend it to a friend because it is my mom's book. The people that will like this will be a girl and a twilight fan.

John and Jack travel into the past, find out about the Winter King's, Mordred's, past. They also learn about his twin brother, Arther, and other people.

The Batboy

I read the book The Batboy. This book was written by Mike Lupica. This book is about a boy named Brian who wanted to be the batboy of the Detroit Tiger baseball team. I choose this book because I like to read sports books and this looked like a good one.

In the book The Batboy Brian wanted to be the batboy of the Detroit Tigers. But there were many challenges Brian had to face along the way like the fact that Brian wasn't old enough for the batboy and that was making Brian mad. So Brian writes a letter to the owner of the Detroit Tigers and ends up winning the job of the batboy and getting to live his dream.

Two things that I liked about the book were that it was a book about sports and another is that it was about never giving up on your dream if you really want it. Two things that I didn't like about the book is that when Brian gets the job and he goes to meet his hero(Hank Bishop) he turned out to be nothing like Brian expected and another is that his dad when he came up to visit he payed absolutly no attention to Brian and hung out with some old buddies from baseball. I would say this book is appropriate for the age groupe of 8 and up. I would would recommend this book to sombody who likes to read sports books. By: Zach vavcarelli

Goosebumps The Horror At Camp Jellyjam

The title of this book is called The Horror At Camp Jellyjam. The author of this book is R.L Stine. This book is about two children named Wendy and Elliot that visit this camp and they meet this weird counselor and when you participate in activities you get a medal and then you get to walk the track and then those kids go missing. I chose this book because i like cool mysteries and adventures. This book is about Wendy and Elliot encounter students missing after they win a lot of medals. What they try to do is Wendy and Elliot get a lot of coins and then walk the track. Then they find all the missing kids that were trapped by a monster in this one room. This monster smelled and made the kids do things or he'll eat them. Two things I liked were how they found out what happened to the kids and how they get out. Two things I didn't like was that the counselors were acting weird and they wouln't let anyone leave. This book can be read by anyone. Yes I would recommend it to a friend. This book can be liked by anyone that likes mysteries and adventures.

Goosebumps The Scarecrow Walks At Midnight

This book is called The Scarecrow Walks At Midnight. The author of this book's name is R.L Stine. This book is mainly about two kids named Mark and Jodie that visit their grandparents, and scarecrows come to life. I chose this book because I also like the cool mystery adventures of Goosebumps. This book is about Mark and Jodie visit their grandparents, and their grandparents are acting very strange. Their grandparents would do everything their farmer {that lives with them} says to do like make and cook things he liked. Mark and Jodie do not like this because they usually love their grandmas chocalate chip waffles but they eat corn cereal. Then towards the end they see what is really happening. I liked how Mark and Jodie found out what happened and how the story ended. I didn't like how Stanley made the grandparents do what he wanted and how the grandparents would listen to him. Any person can read this book. Yes I would recommend it to a friend. Anybody that likes mysteries and solving stories would like this book.

The Enemy

The book i read i read is The Enemy by Charlie Higson.its aabout all of these kids the have to fight the grown ups(zombies) to survive.I chose this book because i realy like zombie movies and games so i wanted to see if i would like zombie books(i do).

Two thing i liked was it had zombies in it and that is was very discriptive. Two things i didnt like was my favorit character died and the end was boring.I would recomend this to a friend and that guys would probly like it.
So that is the book i read!
