Deeper

I read the book "Deeper" by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams. This book is the sequel to the book "Tunnels" and is about Will and Chester getting back to the surface of the earth. Will wanted to save his friend Chester but, Chester was on a train going deeper into the earth so one of Will's uncle's friends helped Will save Chester. Chester wanted to go back to his home in Highfield but, he was stuck down in the earth with no way out so Will and him got used to life in "The Deeps". Dr.burrows still wants to become famous but he is also stuck underground so he keeps wandering around discovering things. Two things I liked about this book were the cool tunnels and weird people who live in "The Deeps" and mine all day. There was nothing I disliked about this book. It is appropriate for ages 10 and up anyone who likes tunnels and adventure will like this book.

Tunnels

The book I read is "Tunnels" by Roderick Gordan and Brian Williams. My book is about a 15 year old boy who goes under ground in search of his archaeologist father. I chose this book because the Holley librarian recommended that I read it. Will wanted to explore tunnels with his dad but, his dad went missing. So Will and his only friend Chester set off to find him. Dr.burrows wanted to prove he's a great archaeologist but, every good find is stolen from him so he keeps trying.Chester wants to go home but, Will and him are stuck under ground so he gets used to life underground in constant fear of the Styx. Two things I liked about this book were the luminescent orbs and the the underground city. There was nothing I disliked about this book. It is appropriate for ages 10 and up. I would recommend this book to a friend. Anyone who likes tunnels will like this book.

Stranded

This book is called "Stranded" by Ben Mikaelsen. This book is about a girl who lost her foot and there are stranded whales in the ocean, she has to save them. I chose this book because it is one of those great ones by Ben Mikaelsen.
In this book Koby had found a wale stranded in a fishing net but she was able to save her. But now the same wale and he baby are stranded on a sandbar. She must stay out in the ocean and try so save them, and just wait there for help. The sun starts to go down, and there is still no help. Koby is very scared, she never been in the ocean at night before.
Two things I liked about this book were that is wasn't very long and Ben Mikaelsen has wrote it, he is the best author I know of. The only thing wrong with me ready this is that it wasn't one I am just interested in but animal lovers will love this book. It is for ages about 9-13.

Ghost of Spirit Bear

This book I read is "Ghost of Spirit Bear" by Ben Mikaelsen. This is about two boys who have learned the best of life at an abondoned alaskan island and now they are going thourgh troubles at school. I chose this book because I read the first one "Touching Spirit Bear" a year ago and it was great, so I had to get this one.
Cole and Peter use to be sworn enimies but now they are best friends, you may wonder how is it so? They are best friends after being stranded on an Alaskan island, Cole was there first after bashing Peters head in a sidewalk, then Peter went there after thinking about suicide to get rid of his troubles. They became best friends after seeing a huge white bear, called the spirit bear. Now they are facing huge troubles like gangs and bullies at school. They try and work so much stuff out with the princible but nothing worked, so they went to the board, if you want to know what happens just read the book.
This is nothing I didn't like about this book, it was amazing, it was only a little over 150 pages and it was great. Ben Mikaelsen is just a great author. This book is probally appropiate for ages 10+. I would recommend this book to anyone and anybody would love it.

The book that I read was Maus ,a survivor's tale. The writer of Maus is Art Spieglman. The topic of the book is that Vladek and Anja to stay away from any of the Germans. The reason why I choose this book is because it looked interesting, and it looked cool because it had animals in it.

The summary of Maus is when Artie goes to his father for information. Arties father tells him of what happen to him in World War 1, and how he lived through it. Artie now knows about his past, and what happen to his family.

The two things that I liked about this book were that it had animals in it, and that it was about World War 1 (I like to read anything about WW1). The two things that I did'nt like about the book was that it was a graphic novel, and second, well their was'nt a second thing that I did'nt like about the book it was preaty good. The age group is about 10 mabey 11 years old. Yes I would recomend it to a friend. Basicly anyone would like this book.
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is the first book of the amazinggggg series. I heard this book was really good and decided to read it. The book was so good I wanted to read the whole series. The author of the book is Jeff Kinney. In this book a kid named Greg Heffley and his friend Rowley are starting there first day of middle school. They are bullied, picked on, and are the least popular kid in school. They both think middle school is the bumdest thing ever. Gregs mom got him a jurnal but it says diary. so he has to careful of who sees it. One thing I liked about this book is the pages are'nt too long. Another thing I liked is that it is very funny. One thing I did'nt like is how the writing was. Another thing I did'nt like was how many pictures there were. 6-14 is qa good age to read this at. I would recomend this to freinds and family. And enyone who liked the itRemove Formatting from selection

Pretties

(YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THE FIRST BOOK OF THE UGLIES SERIES).

I read the book PRETTIES by Scott Westerfeld. This book is about a girl who finally gets what she had wanted all along but learns to remember why she is the way she is. I chose this book because it is the second book of the UGLIES series and i just HADDD to see what happened next.

Tally Youngblood is now pretty! She is now living the life of partying, getting drunk, and just having nothing but pure fun 24/7. She goes to this party that all "New Pretties" must go to once they are finished with the operation, but sees that someone is following her dressed in a "Special Circumstances" costume. She finds out that it is one of her old friends from her ugly days from the Smoke, who came to tell her about a special item he has for her and to remind her about her past. But he doesn't just give her the item, she must go through all this trouble to get it with her new "Crim" friend, Zane. (A "Crim" is someone who created a fantastic crime back in the day and gets popularity for it.) Eventually, Zane and Tally get ahold of the item, and find that it isn't any ordinary gift. It is the "cure" for being Pretty, and Tally decides that she's not going to take the pills alone. Tally now has to get away from her new Luxurious life and be free from all the stress that goes on with her friend Shay, and the constant offers that Special Circumstances keep putting on her. In the end, Tally realizes that being pretty is far from anything she imagined, and that trying to get away may not be so easy.

I enjoyed this book a lot. However, I liked the first book, UGLIES, way better. Two things I liked about this book was that in some parts it turned out to be really weird, and that it mixes the past and future really well. Two things I didn't like was that some parts were hard to follow and that it just dissappoints you at the end! I would deffinately recommend this book to a friend and to anyone in their teens or older. I think more girls would like this book, though. :)

Chains

The book, Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson is about a girl and her younger sister in the 1700s.

Isabel is a slave, along with her younger sister. Isabel and her sister were sold to a terrible lady and her husband, which they will now call their master. Then Isabel and her sister experienced a very terrible shock. Isabel was terrified of what her master would do to her now. Isabel was alone with no family around.

If you like to read about historical fiction, this is the book for you! There wasn't anything I didn't like about this book! One of the things I did like about this book was that the whole story wasn't taking place in just one spot, it was all over the place.
FEVER 1793

The book, FEVER 1793, by Laurie Halse Anderson is about a girl with her family in the 1700s.

A girl named Mattie Cook
right above their family coffee shop alon with her mother and her grandfather. Mattie spends her days getting out of her chores and planning ways to make their coffee shop better. But what Mattie is unaware of is that the fever is breaking out all across town! After her mom catches the fever she and her grandfather leave the city. But then attie finds out that the disease is spreading everywhere.

One thing I liked about this book was that there was so many things going on so it is hard to put the book down! But one thing I didn't like was that there were so many things going on so you kind of didn't know where and what was happening. Anyone that likes realistic fiction would really enjoy this book.

Being Dead

The title of the book I read is called "Being Dead". The author of this book is Vivian Vande Velde. The topic of this book is Scary stories. It is made up of a bunch of stories. It has horror and thrill in it. Horror books are the kind of books you don't want to stop reading at points.

The story in the book I will talk about is called "Being Dead". Johnny Stewart is the main charactor. He is a newspaper boy and gets paid little. One day he was given a tip for $19.93 for only a newspaper!! His family consists of just him, his mom and his little sister Rosie. He was walking down on the side walk when he saw a suicide jumper. He jumped of a building and landed on top of Johnny. Johnny was now a ghost. He stared at his dead body on the side walk. His boss, DeMarco walks up to the body and took the tip out of his pocket. He tries his best to make DeMarco give his mom the money and at the end he succeded.

I liked this book but it is not one most people would like. Is has some scary stories, but others are not worth reading. If you like to read books with different scary stroies then you will like this. My reccomendation is most people will not like this book. Although it is apropriate for anybody that can read "GooseBumps".

Twilight

The book I read was Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. It was a captivating and romantic story about a girl named Bella who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. I actually decided to read this book just out of curiosity, hearing that this book was supposedly like the next Harry Potter series.
Bella Swan moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks Washington to start a new life with her father. She meets a boy named Edward who she becomes very curious about. He ends up saving her from being hit by a fellow classmates car. Determined to find out how he saved her Bella later finds out that Edward and his family are "vegetarian" vampires who only feed of animal blood. Their romance is soon disturbed by another group of vampires who are not as civilized as the Cullens. The other group of vampires wants to hunt bella, so the Cullens split up Bella and Edward for her protection. James tricks Bella into thinking he had taken her mom, so she goes to rescue her. In the meantime putting herself in danger. After being attacked by James, the Cullens rescue Bella and kill James. When they go back to Forks, Bella and Edward go to there school prom where she tells him she wants to become one of him but he refuses to change her.
This is a very captivating story that will have you drawn in until the end. I loved the romance and at the same time the action. I disliked the fact that Bella said "Holy Crow" after almost every sentence. I recommend this book mostly for teenage girls who love drama and romance.

Where the Red Fern Grows

Wilson Rawls book Where the Red Fern Grows is an exciting book about a boy and his two pet dogs. I chose this book because I am an animal lover, and this book was read to me once when I was little.
Billy lives on a small farm in the Ozark Mountains. All he ever wanted was his very own pair of coon hounds. After working hard and saving money, Billy gives the money to his grandpa to have the dogs shipped to him. Out of excitement and anticipation, Billy sneaks off into the night to get his dogs. On his way back home he has an encounter with a mountain lion while sleeping in a cave but is protected by his dogs. He decides to name them Old Dan and Little Ann seeing how smart and brave they are. Billy works hard with his dogs, trapping and treeing coons. Billy’s grandfather enters him in a Coon hunting contest. He and his grandfather hunt together during a blizzard and lose sight of the dogs. Grandpa hurts his ankle and they have to stop for the night. Although they have to stop for the night they still collect enough skins to win the contest. One night Billy is hunting with his dogs when they are attacked by a mountain lion. The dogs manage to kill the lion. But Old Dan is badly injured, and dies. Little Ann is so sad that a few days later she dies as well. The family decides to move into town from all the money Billy has earned from hunting, and on the day of the move Billy spots a red Fern over his dog’s graves. Billy knows that it is an old story that only an angel can plant a red fern.
I liked this book because it was an adventure; you sort of watch the character grow up. I love the detail that just adds to the excitement. I don’t like that the book starts off with him as an adult, I think its sort of like reading a whole different story. But I can’t complain too much about Wilson Rawls work. I recommend this book to anyone who loves animals and nature. It’s a great adventure story that will have you drawn in from the beginning.

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Bones is a captivating book by Alice Sebold. It is about a fourteen year old girl who watches over her friends, family, and killer from heaven. I chose this book because I saw the movie trailer and wanted to read it before I saw the movie. My mother had read the book and she said it was a beautiful, but sad story.
Susie Salmon was your typical fourteen year old girl who was just discovering love when her life was taken from her by a neighborhood man. From heaven she watches as her family and friends try to cope with her disappearance, as well as the man who killed her try to cover his tracks and hide her body. Susie’s sister and father try to unravel the mystery of her disappearance, as she learns about her murderers horrific past.
In this book I liked the drama, it was so sad and dramatic in the beginning, and the end of the book has such a beautiful conclusion that left me wanting more. I liked that everything was so detailed and Alice Sebold actually made you feel like you were watching a movie. The end of the book seemed to leave me a little bit hanging, but I guess that’s what made it such a great story. I didn’t like how the author jumped from one thing from the other a little too fast in some parts. Due to some graphic scenes in this book I would recommend it for 13-14 year olds. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good drama or mystery.

Eclipse

The book I read is Eclipse. The author of this book is Stephenie Meyer. The book is about a girl named Bella Swan and how she has to choose between Jacob Black or Edward Cullen, and most importantly life or death. I choose this book because I love the Twilight series.
The book is about a girl named Bella swan and her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen and her best friend who is a werewolf, Jacob Black. Bella wanted to become a vampire and marry Edward, but if she did this it meant that she would have to lose her good friend Jacob. In the process of this happening, a vampire named Victoria is out for revenge on the Cullen's and Bella for killing her solemate James . She starts a new born vampire army in hope to kill Bella. So all the Cullen's and the wearwolves are forced to make peace with each other in order to save Bella's life.
One thing I like about this book was it was very exciting in the fight parts. Also it keeps you hooked until the end of the book. One thing I didn't like was some times it dragged on and on in some parts . Also some of the chapters were very long. This book is appropriate for anyone really. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I think girls and Twilight fans would enjoy this book more then boys or anyone else.

Charlie St Cloud

The book I read was Charlie St Cloud. The author of this book is Ben Sherwood. The topic of this book is about a boy named Charlie and how his life goes on after the tragic death of his little brother Sam. I choose this book cause my mom read it and said I would love it. Also it has drama, adventure, action, and romance, all the things I9 love in a book.
Charlie St Cloud wanted nothing other then to keep his promises to his little brother Sam. He promised to practice baseball every day at sunset cannons until Charlie left for collage. The second promise he made to Sam was to always be there for him and to always be his brother. Then one day a tragic accident happened and Sam and Charlie where killed in a car crash. Luckily Charlie was revived but unfortunately Sam did did. After this Charlie had an extraordinary gift that he could see, walk, and talk with the dead. So with this gift, Charlie could keep his promise to his dead brother. When doing this Charlie meets a girl named Tess Carrol and is forced to choose between his little brother and the girl he loves in an adventure he will never forget.
I like this book because after reading even the first page, I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. I also liked this book because it was a fairly easy to read. Some things I didn't like was sometimes it got a little confusing who the story was talking about, because it switches between Tess and Charlie . This book is appropriate for seventh graders and up. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I think anyone would like this book, but girls might enjoy it more though.

Wolf Shadows

The novel Wolf Shadows, by Mary Casanova, is about a boy who loves wolves but everyone around him hates wolves. I chose this book because I like wolves.

The novel is about a boy named Seth who loves wolves but everyone else even his friend, Matt want to hunt them. But then Matt does something horrible. Seth wanted people to respect wolves but even his friend want to kill them so Matt commits to an act of violence.

There are two things I like about the novel. One is I like the how the author is descriptive in her writing. Another thing I like is that Seth likes wolves and wants to see them thrive. There are also two things I dislike. One is I dislike how even Seth's own friend doesn't like the wolves. Another is I dislike how Matt can be mean sometimes. People who are 12 years and up will like this book. I would recommend this book to a friend Girls and guys would like this book.

A Kiss In Time

My favorite author is at it again with another incredible remake novel. A kiss in time is about a remake of sleeping beauty with a major twist.

Princess Talia of Euphrasia has been asleep for 300 hundred years, after being pricked by a spindle causing her to fall in a deep sleep. She was awakened by a commoner named Jack with true loves first kiss but he didn't love her. Talia's father's disappointment apon her was to great she had no choice but to runaway with Jack and go to Florida where he'd lived. After adjusting to the 21st century, Talia had been more grateful and less spoiled like she used to be. Everyday her and Jack care more for eachother. But the day after Jack admitts he loves her is the day she is kidnapped by the witch who casted the dreadful spindle/sleep spell. Can Jack's love help save her from the wicked witch or will it be too late!!

I loved this story and it's one of my favorites by my favorite, very detailed and brilliant!

The Child called It

This book called ''the child called it'' a little boy had to fight to stay alive from the abuse and starvation there are three books all together in the series .

A little boy Davis lives with his brothers,Father and abusive mother. His mother put him through brutal "games'' .And that his father would do nothing about because both the mother and father were barely ever sober. David lived in their basement on a army cot with no blankets or heat.He had a very rough childhood that no one could ever explain.

This book was a very good book. I would read this again and you should only read it if you don't mind crying or tearing up.This is the best book i have read in a long time.

Thirteen reasons why

The book i haven choosen to read is about a girl who killed herself. This book is called "Thirteen Reason Why".
This book is about a girl named Hannah Baker who commtted suicide. The book is like 7 different tapes that get sent to friends. They tell them to send them to people. Also they tell how much to listen of it.All the tapes say why Hannah decided to do what she did.In the story Clay Jensen just happened to be one of the main reason Hannah chose to committe suicide.
When i was reading this story it was kinda upseting to think someone could actually do this to there selfs. It was hard to believe one of the main reasins was because of some boy. Also the fact that she thought she should make these tapes was wierd because it's hard to believe what Hannah hade done to herself.

The scorch trials

The Maze Runner was only the beginning now in the sequel The Scorch trials by James Dashner Thomas and his Friends face new challenges and a new betrayer. I liked this book because its nonstop action and sometimes you never know who's next to die or who is still alive. this book is really good and i would S0oo recommend this book for fans of action mystery and The Hunger Games. the most memorable and creepy line in the book for me was "Rose took my nose, I suppose" ya a crank said that to find out what a crank is you'll just have to read The Maze Runner and than The Scorch Trials. Don't miss the Death cure when it comes out.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is heart stopping book written by Suzane Collins .This book is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen that takes her sisters place in the Hunger Games .The Hunger Games  is a year round event were one boy and one girl from 12 districts  fight until death.
At the reaping  a boy and a girl are chosen to fight in the Hunger Games . Katniss takes her sisters place and  Peeta  Mellark a boy who likes Katniss  are chosen . Katniss goes along with being liked  and they become a couple . After they win the  Hunger Games Katniss  and Peeta's relationship start to fade away  .
To find out if they last  read the next book Catching Fire. I would recommend this book to everyone who doesn't  take reading as their favorite thing because this book definitely changed my mind about reading .Now I cant wait to get my hands on Catching Fire.

Two-Minute Drill

Two-minute Drill written by Mike Lupica. In this book a kid named Scott Parry knew he was not that good at football but he could kick and that could just make him the best football player that anyone has ever seen.

Scott Parry wanted to play football really bad because he was really good at kicking. But one day he was playing football at school when a older kid ran into him and Scott fell down and everybody at school was laughing at Scott exept for one kid that was the best football player at thier school. So Chris Collen and Scott Parry became bestfriends and THE only friend for Scott perry. For now.

Two things that I like about the book is that it is about sports and I like to read books by this author. Two things that i don't like about the book is that all of the kids always make fun of him and think that hes bad at football when hes really not and another is that nobody really makes an offer to even get to know Scotty and if they did they might like him more. The age group that this would fit would be 11 and up. I would recommend this book to a friend because most of my friends like sports. I would recommend this book to somebody who likes sports.
