On the Far Side of the Mountain, by Jean Craigehead, is the second book in the My Side of the Mountain series. I chose this book because I loved the first book.
In the book, Sam Glibly, who is living in the Catskills, is a nature loving boy who ran away two years ago. He is now living with his falcon, Frightful and his younger peppy sister, Alice, who is new to the mountains. But when Frightful is taken and Alice goes missing Sam and his friend Bando set out to find them.
There are two things I liked about the book. One is I liked that Sam isn't alone now in the mountains. I also like that Alice can take care of herself. There are also two things I didn't like about the book. I disliked that Frightful is taken. Another thing is I didn't like how that the person who took Frightful is a mean person. People who are 11-14 years would like this book. I would recommend this book to a friend. Guys and girls would like this book.
