Catching Fire

I recently read the book Catching Fire, second in The Hunger Games series. This book was written by Suzanne Collins and contained 391 pages. The genre of this book was fantasy/fiction. In this story, Katniss Everdeen has to gather her courage, gain strength, and find out who the real enemy is! I chose this book because I'd already read the first book in it's series, and I really wanted to find out what would happen next!
In Catching Fire a spark of rebellion rises throughout the Districts and spreads to the Capitol. Katniss Everdeen is just settling into her new home in the Victor's Village when everything in her life abruptly takes a twisted turn. Suddenly everyone she loves is in danger. After returning from the Victory tour throughout the country, Katniss and Peeta find out that there have been uprisings in Districts directed toward the Capitol, and President Snow arrives in District 12 at Katniss's home. After his shocking news Katniss is overcome with hatred and every other emotion imaginable! Whatever District 12 used to have is now taken away by Thread, the new head peacekeeper who whips and hurts people without even a blink of an eye. Now Katniss must grab hold of everything she loves and never let go, because her world is about to take an unexpected journey of terror...
Two things I loved about this book are that it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through the story, and that it also was very action-filled and surprised me every minute! I disliked nothing about this book! This novel is appropriate for ages 12 and up because at times it can be gory, and I would definitely recommend this novel to a friend. People that like action, romance, fiction, fantasy, and very exciting books would love to read this novel.
