The River by: Gary Paulsen

I read the book The River. It was written by Gary Paulsen. It is about a kid named Brian who went on a adventure into the wilderness. I chose this book because the cover of the book made me really want to read it.

Brian has to try to survive with nothing but two knives and a person named Kevin. Then something happened and they have to find help by going down the river connecting to the lake. This is what this book is all about.

Two things I liked about this book was the setting was in the Canadian wilderness, and one more thing was they almost died. Two things I didn't like was he had to have someone go with him and he didn't have his trusty hatchet. I recommend this book to kids from the ages of 10-14. I would recommend this book to a friend.Kids that like to read adventure books would want to read The River.
