Number the Stars

The book I read is called "Number The Stars." The author is Lois Lowery. The genre is historical fiction. I chose this book because when I read the back of the book it sucked me in. I wanted to read more.

There are seven main characters. Their names are Ellen, Annemarie, Ellen's father and mother, Annemarie's father and mother, and Uncle Henrik. Ellen and Annemarie are great friends. The parents of Annemarie and Ellen are great friends as well. Ellen is Jewish and this is the time when Hitler was killing of all the Jew's. Ellen and her family all go to a little church. This church keeps a list of all the Jew's. Hitler got a hold of the list and is know tracking down all of them and killing them one by one. Ellen doesn't know what she is in for. Will they all make it or will Hitler get his way and kill all the Jew's?

I liked the part where Annmarie was running through the woods and was racing against time. I also liked the part in the beginning when Ellen and Annemarie were running through Copenhagen (the little town they live in) without a care in the world. I would recommend this book for people who like a book that you can't put down. I would also recommend this book for people who like historical fiction.
