A Stolen Life

A Stolen Life was written by Jaycee Dugard. This is a non-fiction book. I chose to read this book because the school librarian recommended it to me.
This is a true story of a 10 year old girl who was captured on her way to school with the assist of a stun gun by Phillip and Nancy Gillardo. She was held captive in a back yard compound for 18 years, raped, and abused. Jaycee gave birth to two daughters while held captive. She was not allowed to acknowledgeher daughters as daughters. They were simply her sisters. This is a very heartbreaking true story....
I liked this book because it was true and exposed everything that Jaycee went through. I disliked this story because it was true it made you want to cry and then scream. What Jaycee went through was something most of us can never imagine, so I recommened this to very mature 13 year olds. If you like true storys you will like this book.

Smile

The book I chose to read was Smile by Rania Telgemeier. This is a true story written as a comic. Smile has pages.
Rania, who is the author and main character, just wanted to fit in, in her sixth grade year. One night after Girl Scouts Rania's friend had taken her home and when they had arrived at her house Rania and her friend ran to her front porch. As she was running Rania had tripped and fell. She had fallen on her face and one of her front teeth had fallen out and the other was pushed up into her gums. Rania's dentist, Dr. Golden, put both teeth back in place and put a cast around her front teeth. Turns out Rania had damaged the bone above her teeth so both her front teeth had gone up a little more than the rest of her teeth. Rania had to get braces in order to fix her teeth. She also had to get head gear to go along with her braces. Then she had to get her braces off, have those two teeth pulled, get dentures, and then finally get braces again. As Rania is going through this "dental drama" she is dealing with her friends, school, and boys. Eventually Rania's teeth are fixed and her teeth look normal again.
I would recommend this book to people with kind of the same "dental drama" Rania had gone through. I wouldn't recommend this book to people my age but probably people in fifth or sixth grade.

War Horse

War Horse was written by Michael Morpurgo. This is a action story. I choose to read this book because I wanted to watch the movie.
In this book Albert wants to be with his horse Joey forever. But his father decides to sell him to the Calvary. So Joey tries to join the Calvary but is rejected and said to wait a few more years. Joey goes on a remarkable journey losing friends and family.....
I liked that this book was so suspenseful and that it had a happy ending after all the trouble was overcome. This book is appropriate for ages 10+. If you like action and adventure you are sure to like this book.

Revolution

Revolution is by Jennifer Donnelly. This book is a historical fiction book. I chose this book because Mrs.Henry recommended it to me.

In this book Andi wants her brother back alive. That will help her and her mother alot. But Andis Dad puts her mom in a hospital, and takes Andi to France so she can work on her senior thesis. But Andi really does not care about her thesis untill her Dad offers to let her go back to America when shes done with it. But Andi gets a little side tracked and some very strange things happen to her....

I liked that this book was historical fiction and I learned a little about the French Revolution from it. I disliked how slow the start of it was. This book is appropriate for 13+. If you read and liked a Northern Light you will like this book.

A Northern Light

A Northern Light was written by Jennifer Donnelly. It is a fictional story. I chose this book because I had just read Revolution that was written by the same author and I loved it.
In this book Mattie Gokey wanted to go to college. But her mother died and she is needed to help take care of her sisters and the farm because her older brother ran away after their mom died. So Mattie gives up and decieds to stay and marry Royal. Untill Grace Brown dies, she finds a secret about Royal, and she finds out her teachers secret.
I liked the suspense of this book, I also liked that this book was historical fiction. I disliked how Matties cow dies. This book is appropriate for ages 13+. If you read and liked Revolution you will definatly love this book.

Mocking Jay

Mocking Jay by Suzana Collins. This is the thrid book to The Hunger Games trilogy.I choose this book because I read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire which were the two books before Mocking Jay.

In the end of Catching Fire they took Katniss out of The arena because Districts were rebelling against the Capitol. The rebellion is lead by District 13 which Katniss Everdeen is now living in. She has took part to District 13s life because the Capitol had destroyed her old district. When the capitol destroyed her old district many people were killed, but her family got out ahead of time because they were warned that this was going to happen. Katniss has now taken a new life as a rebellion.

Two things I liked about this book was how the order of events happened and how descriptive the book was. Two things I did not like about this book was how it ended and that alot of people died. This book is ment for the ages of 12 and up. I would recommend this book for Hunger Game fans.

The Dangerous Days of Daniel X

The book I read was The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Paterson. This book should only be read by kids that are interested in aliens. It is more for kids that are between ages 9-15 that like sci-fi. I don't recomend this book because it was hard to follow, becaause I have no interest in fighting aliens.
Daniel was a 15 year old who's parents were murdered by an alien. He was an alien that hunted evil, bad and nasty aliens. He had powers from his parents that helped him win baddles against aliens.
Daniel met another Alien named Kildare who's dad was a bad alien. They thought they would defeat the father because he was one of the bad guys. They also wanted to save the earth from the other aliens on the list.

Catching Fire

The book I read is Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. The books genre is fiction. I chose this book because it is the second book in the Hunger Games Trio.
The book is about Katniss and Peeta two victors after the Hunger Games. The two of them go on the Victors Tour around the Districts of Panem. Katniss has to try and tame the uprising in the districts before she starts loosing her loved ones. She needs to do this before the districts try and overtake the capitol.
Two things I liked about this book is the courage the charecters comited to try and stop the uprising. Another thing I liked about the book is the action on almost every page. There was nothing I did not like about the book. This book is appropriate for anyone over the age of twelve. If you have read the Hunger Games you need to read this book.

Fallen Angles

Fallen Angles by Walter Dean Myers. This book is action filled and is a war book. This book is about a 17 year old kid called Richie Perry just got out of school and is joining the army. I chose this book becouse i enjoy reeding war book.
Richie Perry cant offord college and the streets are to hard. So he goes to the army and gets shipped to vietnam. He also meats some friends on the way to the jungles of vietnam. He meets Peewee,Lobel,Jhonson and Brunner. They all heve there own reasons for being there but they all have the same dream stay alive.
The two things i liked about the book is the part where peewee was playinga game with some vietnamese kids and they tryed to cheatand peewee got mad. another reason was when they where wighting for the chopper and they had to fight off some vietnamese people . there was not anything that i did not liked i liked the whole book. this book is approprite for people that like war. oh and the book has a lot of swearing.

Catching Fire

Catching Fire
The book I read was Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the genre of this book is fiction. I chose this book because it is the second book in The Hunger Games series. The book is about what happens after Katniss and Peeta win the Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta begin the Victor's Tour around each district, but there's a twist there are been Katniss's mockingjay has become a symbol or rebellion. Katniss is asked to calm the crowd before an uprising happens, or she might lose everyone she loves. One thing I liked about the book is that the author kept the reader interested even during the slow parts of the book. Another thing I liked about the book is that ending of the book ended in a twist. I would recommend this for anyone 12 or older, or someone who read the first book The Hunger Games. I would also recommend this to a friend

Catching Fire :)

I recently finished Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This book is part of the Hunger Games trilogy. Catching Fire is about how Katniss and Peeta have different lives after they have won the games. I chose to read this book because the first book, Hunger Games, was such a great book! I couldn't resist! I absolutely love these books!
In this book, so many key things happen! After Katniss and Peeta had won the 74th Hunger Games, they begin their Victory Tour. But before they leave, Katniss is visited by President Snow. He explained that he is very angry for showing signs of rebellion during the games, especially trying to commit suicide with Peeta, which let them both win. Also, she created talk of rebellion in the districts, which the Capitol does not want. Then, when District 12 gets new Peacekeeper's, things change. Things don't get by so easy anymore, and the punishments are painful. And when Katniss and Peeta are chosen to go back in the arena for the Quarter Quell, she decides to protect Peeta in the Games. When they are thrown in the arena, Katniss and Peeta join up with others to become a team and survive. Will Katniss survive? If not, will Peeta?
I absolutely loved this book! I really like how this book is written so well that you don't want to put it down! It's so interesting! You just want to know what happens next so you keep reading and before you know it, you've finished the book. I also like how Katniss is rebellious. She shows the Capitol that they won't be in control for much longer. Katniss is determined to protect her and her family, and she does a good job! She's so thoughtful and she's tired, like everybody else, of being controlled by the Capitol. This book is appropriate for 6th graders and up and it's definitely a perfect read. Not too hard or easy! This book is really for anybody! I never liked action books, but this book totally changed my mind! I think everybody should read this trilogy, especially Catching Fire! It's the most interesting in my opinion. I hope everybody gets a chance to read these books because they are just amazing reads! :)

Sweethearts

I finished a book called "Sweethearts" by Sara Zarr. This book is mostly realistic fiction. I chose this book because the book cover looked interesting.
Jenna, also know as Jennifer, is a member of the Harris family. She changes a lot throughout the book. She was not well liked as a child so she decided to change everything about herself. Her name, her style, her character, her school, her friends, and many more. But only one person knows the truth. Cameron Quick was her best friend in the other school before she moved and became a whole different person. Her decision on changing is even based on him. Jennifer was told that Cameron died when he actually moved. Jennifer's only friend was only Cameron. So it was a tragedy for her when bullies made up a story that he died when he actually only moved. That always stood in her way of moving on. Finally, she got over it and started a new life. Moving to a new school and start with a whole different herself wasn't hard either. Well it wasn't...until Cameron showed up. Her boyfriend was then confused, her friends were then confused, but most of all she was confused of seeing him.
Two things that I liked about the book is that it is descriptive and not confusing. The age group this book is appropriate for is 10+. The reading level is 4/10. I would recommend it to a friend. The kind of people that would like this book is a person that likes to read.

AVALON web of magic

avoln web of magic by rachel roberts avoln is about these three girls that have discoverd magic  i choessed this book because the picture looked so intresting i thoght the book would be to.

emaly is a girl who helps her mother take car of the inderd and sick animals ad one day she went in to the woods and met this girl adriane who lives in the woods and takes care of the animals there with her grandma the they went to the court hall and met this stuck up spoild snobby populer girl named kara all she cared about was shopping emaliy and adriana wanted to help all the animals but needed a therd person witch is kara so they went to find her agin and she said no.

two things i liked about this book is that it was so intesiting and the aother thing is that it was so well writen i dident hate anything with this book i recomemed this book to the people who like mistry books.

Confessions of the Sullivan Sisters

I read the book called Confessions of the Sullivan Sister. Natalie Standiford is the author of  this book. The topic of this book is three sisters who have to go through hard times in there life. I chose to read this book because my friend told me it was a good book.

There are three sisters who have to face hard times in there life. The sister names are Norrie,Jane, and Sassy. They usually get into trouble when they are around the wrong people. Someone in there family dies and all three girls have an opportunity to get money from there family memeber dies , but nobody knows who it is.

I thought this book was a pretty good book. I liked how the book was detailed. I would recommend this to anyone who is a teenager and likes a suspense to the end.

The help By:Kathryn Stockett

Kathryn Stockett, who was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, was inspired by her close childhood relationship with her family's black maid to write The Help. Her debut novel tells the story of privileged families in Jackson and the black women who work as maids and nannies for the families but live in a separate part of town and are segregated from whites in so many ways. The close relationships formed between "the help" and these families is constantly contradicted by the enforced segregation and blatant racism on a society-wide. The Help is told in the alternating narratives of the various women.

I thought this was a good book and a good movie too. If i had to rate this book out of 5 stars i would give it about 4 stars, in some parts of the book it gets a little boring, and in some parts it had to understand because of the way the author talks in book. Some things I liked about the book were that it had some really interesting parts in the book, and it is funny in some parts also.

Catchng Fire is the second installment in the Hunger Games trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. The book follows a dystopian plotline set an unspecified time into the future, on the continent of what was previously North America (The nation of "Panem").

The book starts out a short while after the events of the first book leave off. The main character, Katniss Everdeen, had previously won a kind of annual tournament (In which every city-state -like district of the country sends a boy and a girl to fight to their deaths in an Arena. The even is organized yearly as a punishment for a failed rebellion attempted nearly a century earlier by the districts of the country.) and is back in her home district of 12. After a tour of the country post-tournament she sparks a hope of and unknowingly becomes the symbol of a rebellion. A series of events unfold and as it so happens, Katniss and the second victor (Due to a complication in the previous book, two victors emerged from the previous tournament [Known as the "Hunger Games"] as opposed to the traditional one.) are called back to compete against other previous victors in the following year's Games. A handful of the previous years' victors aid in the escape from the Games' arena and there is revealed to be a larger resistance than previously imagined, and from there anything written here may as well just be a spoiler.

For positives and negatives of this novel, there honestly are not many downsides. The story is fairly original, and the plotline is extensively creative. As for a recommendation, anybody should at least try this book series; it's good for just about anybody as it has certain elements of comedy, romance, drama, action, etc.
The book I chose to read was Diary of a
Wimpy Kid "The Last Straw," by Jeff Kinney. This is the newest of the
diaries. I chose this book because I have read the whole series and liked them
all, and thought this one might be good. This book is about a kid named Greg Hefley
and his life from New Year's to summer vacation. The whole book is about how
Greg tries to get out of going to a military school his dad enrolled him for a
school called Spag Union. He tries things like playing on a soccer team and
joining boy scouts. When his attempts fail, he decides to face the fact that he
is going to military school and tries to make some good memories to bring with
him to Spag Union . After all that he fails again. I don’t want to rune the rest
of the book for you so that’s all that I’m going to tell you about this book. Some
things I liked about this book was that it was funny and it carried on with the
last book and wasn’t like a whole new series. The things I didn't like was that
Greg acts like he is god’s gift or something and that made me mad. Also the
pictures were not detailed or colored. They were black and white stick figures.
I would recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humor and for ages 10 and
up.
The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom is a novel about a man named Eddie. Eddie's birthday was the day he died.
Eddie Worked at Ruby Pier. He was the head of the maintenance there. A ride was broken and Eddie noticed, but it was to late. A young girl falls and Eddie tries to save, and the cart from the ride crushes Eddie.
Eddie meets five people in heaven and learns five lessons. I liked this book because you never knew who he was going to meet and when you found out who he was going to meet, it was shocking! I recommend this book to any from ages five - eighty five.

A child called "It"

This book was written by Dave Pelzer and it is about a little boy who is growing up being abused.
This book is mainly about a boy who grows up and has a great life untill the age of 6-7 . when he first started getting abused his mom would wait untill his dad left and then thats when she would start hitting him , slapping him , punching him , and ect. Everyday he would get sent to the nurse and the nurse would check him for bruses , scraches , burns , or any broken bones . One day he was sent to the nurse as soon as he got to school .The nurse had him strip down to his Underpant and she saw a brows on his face. She asked him what it was from and he said it was from running in to a door...
One thing i like about this book is that it was a very omotional book. Another thing i liked about this book was that it is told by him himself. I loved every single part of this book . There was not a part that i didnt like. This book is approprite for 9- to any age. This book is for any reading level, and any person who loves to read. I would recommend this book to a friend any day.

Ranger's Apprentice I

This story is about Will, a lad chosen to become apprentice to Halt. In the frst book, they find that noblemen were assassinated  by fearsome beasts known as the KALKARA! They sat out hunting them, only to find they they were the hunted. Will had expected Halt to be target since he led the charge against the one who controlled them some years back. When he went to tell the baron of the fief that Halt was stationed, Will, the baron (who I can't recall the name of), and his battlemaster, Sir Rodney, rode out to fight the Kalkara. (Oh, and I forgot to mention that earlier, Will saved the life of his old wardmate and rival, Horace, hence forming an everlasting friendship.)

Bleach 2

The name of this book is Bleach volume 2.The author of this book is Tite Kubo. This book is a manga book.                                                                    This book is about a a teenager name Ichigo Kurosaki, and Rukia Kuchiki. Rukia Kuchiki is a Soul Reaper, she shared her powers with Ichigo Kurosaki, turning his whole life upside down. Now Ichigo  has to learn how to defeat Hallows, or demon souls, to protect his family, friends, and town, for destruction of the Hallows. One day while Rukia and Ichigo were walking, they heard a noise and saw it was there friend Chad Sado in trouble. Chad had ran into a Hallow. Ichigo and Rukia fight the Hallow, but will they win? Or is this the end of Rukia, and Ichigo?                                                                              Two things i like about this book are, the way the story is worded, and the characters. One thing i did not like about the book, is the way it leaves you hanging at the end. This is a book for anyone who likes manga, or anime, and loves detail. This book i would say is a reading level of 6 because of the way its worded can be hard for some people to understand. I would recommend this book to to a friend, and anyone who likes graphic novels.

Hades

I read Hades by: Alexandra Adornetto. This book is a sequel to the book Halo. In Hades Beth is dragged to Hell by the demon Jake Thorn who was thought to be gone. I chose this book because I read the book before it Halo and I wanted to know what happend next.
At a Halloween party gone wrong, Bethany Church is dragged into Hell by Jake Thorn. In Halo Jake was sent back to Hell by Bethany's brother, Gabriel, but after some of Beth's friends preformed a seance Jake was released back to Earth. Now Beth has to rely on her family to bring her back to Earth. As she watches her family struggle to bring her home, her love for Xavier is strengthened and she realizes what is really important. Now she has Jake realizing why heaven and Hell do not mix.
I loved how I had a hard time puuting this book down, I was always waiting for what was going to happen next. I also liked how far Xavier will go to make sure Beth is safe. There really wasn't anything I didn't like about this book. This book would be appropiate for anybody 12 or older. I would reccomend this book to any girl, or guy, who likes chick flicks.

Dork Diaries

Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee russel is about a girl named nikki that is going to the hallween dance with brandon, but is helping out with her sisters ballerina party on the same night. I chose this book because it shows how you need to put one thing before the other.
When nikki gets asked to the dance with brandon she couldnt wait to go, but then she asked to help out at the ballerina party for her sister. Nikki decides to do both and it turns into a big issue. Cloe and zoey nikki's friends wanted to hang out with her at the dance so nikki does all three. Nikki wanted to go to the dance with brandon more than anything, but nikki didnt want to hurt her friends feelings. so when she does all three everything goes wrong.
What I liked about the book was that she raced around doing all three of the things she said she would do. My other favorite part was when nikki got asked to the dance by brandon. This book might be good for 12 -14 because it's mostley about dating and what to do. I would recommend this to a friend because everyone loves funny books in books that are funny. Anybody would like this book it shows how a girl tries to survive middle school.

Dork Diaries

Dork Diaries tales from a not so popular party girl by Rachel Renee Russel is about a new girl in town named Nikki moving to a new house and going to a new school. I chose this book because Dork Diaries is talking about a girl trying to survive in middle school with a mean girl trying to ruin her life.
A girl named Nikki moves and goes to a new school and tries to make new friends and a girl named mckenzie is trying to ruin her life. Nikki has a Halloween dance coming up at school and she is trying to find a date to the dance. But later that day her crush asked her to the dance, but when she said yes she forgot she had to do something with her sisters friends and tries to do them at the same time. Nikki went to her sisters thing and dressed up as a rat while she went as Juliet to the Halloween dance. She does not want her friends to find out that Brandon asked her to the dance. Nikki ran back and forth to the school dance and her sisters party.
What i liked about the book is that Nikki went back and forth to the dance and the part, and her friends went to the dance and dressed up with what she wanted to wear, they were gonna have the same outfit. This book is probably around 9-12 for reading age. I would recommend this to a friend because it tells you how to survive middle school. This is a good book for anyone i LOVE this book and i know someone else will to.

Rules

I book I read was Rules,By Cynthia Lord.
The main topic of this book is about this girl named Catherine and she has a brother with autism. I chose this book because i read the back of it and it sounded good, and made me think of my sister with autism. Catherine just wants a normal brother that knows how to behave and act normal but he will never because he has autism. So Catherine tries to teach him a lot of rules. One thing I liked about this book was that it was funny and it kept me interested. Its like me and my sister.Another thing I liked about this book is i could connect to it a lot. One thing I didn't like about this book was when Catherine always would yells at her brother because he is not normal, and its nothing he could help to fix.

I think this age group is appropriate for sixth grade and up. I would recommend this to a friend in a heart beat.I think a girl would like this book better than guys would. It is a good book to read.

War Horse

War Horse. Written by: Michael Morpurgo. This book is realistic fiction and takes place during World War II, in Germany. I chose this book because i enjoy reading things about the past, and about past wars.
During this book Albert's father bought a horse off of a bet. He was drunk at the time. So then Albert gets really attached to the horse and it becomes very obedient. Then one day the military was looking to buy horses for the war and Albert's family needed the money for their farm, and his dad sells it to the military. Albert meanwhile was trying to stop them from taking his horse, and wants to join the army. But he is to young so he went home crying. While in the war, the horse, Joey, is put in a Calvary unit. It then was captured and turned into a German Ambulance horse. After that it went astray trying to escape the gunfire and ran into Barbed wire. Mind you this has been about three years and Albert has joined the army. Back to the horse, it got tetanus and found its way to English veterinary camp for horses. Where Albert is working. Do they find each other, or do they not? Find out for yourself and read this book.
Two things I liked about this book is it had alot of happy parts, and action. But i didnt like the fact that it was narrated by the horse, Joey; and thatboth of Joey's good friends. A horse and a Captain die next to him. I think this book is appropriate for Middle School+ ages. People who like horses and history would also like this book.

Heaven is for Real. By Cassie Mohney

The genre of the book is memory. I picked this book becasue my friend told me it was a good book and a fast read, also was heart touching. I liked was it was all true, heart touching and shows you anything can happen. Something that could of been different in the book is being told by him not his dad.

I would recomand this book to anyone who like a good book, true story and heart touching.

Mockingjay

I read a great book called "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins. It is a fiction book. I chose it because it was the next book in the Hunger Games series.
Katniss (main character) is now faced with even more challenges. She gets saved from the arena and rescued but she still faces the fears and troubles of everything else in the world now. She no longer lives in the same place as she did before. She is now the only and the biggest and most important face in the economy. She is now the rebel sign. She is their mockingjay that leads them through all their fears and troubles even though she is scared herself. There is no one to help her. The Capital is now her enemy, Gale has turned his back on her, and Peeta wasnt rescued or saved. She has no idea even if he is still alive!! She wants to lead her people in the right way but the Capital is always there and fighting against her. So at the end a twist of events happen and she is lost within her life. She is now a part of districts 13 and is fighting to bring down the Capital.
Two things that I liked about this book is that it is very action taking and that it has a lot of suspense in it. I didn't like that it was confusing at some places. Age group that it is appropriate for is 12+. The reading level would be 7/10. I would recommend this book to a friend and anyone that likes the Hunger Games.

Hero

I read the book Hero. This book was written by Mike Lupica. This book is about a boy who lost his father in a  unexpected plane crash and Zach Harriman wanted to find out who did this to his father.

In this book Hero Zach Harriman say his unexpected final goodbye when he goes on a " business trip" that he never comes back from. One day when Zach arrived back home from school he gets delivered some sad news that his dad was killed in a plane crash on his way back home. Zach does a difficult thing and goes to the crash site and looks for clues when there he gets greeted by a man by the name of  Mr. Herbert who apparently knows everything there is to know about Zach's Father. Later Zach comes to find out that he is Zach's long lost Grandfather.

In this book I did not just like two things about this book I liked a lot of things about this book. I did not dislike anything about this book. I would recommend this book to any age kids. This book is for people who like exiting books. I would recommend this book to friends.

Speak

I read the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book was written in a first person perspective. When I read the back of this book it sucked me in. It was all that i wanted to read. I read it in a week which shows how interesting it was. It normally takes me five weeks to read one book. I thought it was really good and i give it a perfect ten.
This was a story about a girl named Melinda going through high school ( 7th Grade) and going through adolescence. She was a good kid and always went to all of her classes. Until this year. When all of her friends practically dump her because she called the cops at a summer party that all of her friends were at. So now she decides not to talk. Everyone thinks there is something wrong with her. She used to be popular until that summer party. Will she pass this year or will she have to deal with all of this drama all over again next year?
I like the types of books that are in first person perspective. I also liked that she explained everything. I didn't have to think about anything when I read it. She explained everything. I really liked everything about this book. There was nothing that i didn't understand or disliked about this book. I would recommend it to all of my friends. It was that good. People who like real life situations in books would defiantly like this book. I loved it so much. I would recommend it to girls more than boys because it is more of a girl book.

If I Stay

I read "If I Stay" by Gayle Forman. The genre of this book is realistic fiction, and chances are the event that takes place can really happen. I chose this book because i love reading realistic fiction and it gave you a point of view that really no one knows or could tell you everyday.

In "If I Stay", Mia has the day off from school. Her paretns decide they want to go out as a family and have fun. On their way there Mia's families car is hit by a semi-truck and her mother and father are dead. She feels perfectly fine untill she sees herslef laying in the ground. Now she is facing the decision of staying on Earth or moving on to afterlife.
Two things I like about this book are that you can hear Mia's story of before the story and a little bit more into her personal life, like meeting her best friend or her boyfriend.
Also I liked how detailed the stories were, but not to detailed.
I didnt like that some parts were just random out of no where stories from her past. But over al it was a good book. I would recommend this book to someone that likes fantasy books or something tht is really imaginative. If you liked Twilight this book may be a good read to you.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Last Straw

The book I chose to read was Diary of a Wimpy Kid "The Last Straw," by Jeff Kinney. This book's genre is realistic fiction. I chos this book because I have read the books before it in the series and liked them, so I decided why not read this one.
This book is about a kid named Greg Heffley's life from New Year's to summer vacation. The whole book is about how Greg tries to get out of going to a military school his dad enrolled him in called Spag Union. He tries everything he can like playing on a soccer team and joining boy scouts. Once he fails with that plan he decides to face the fact that he is going to military school and tries to make memories to bring with him to Spag Union. Then he fails with that plan. That is all I am going to tell you, so if you want to find out the ending you have to read the book for yourself.
The things I liked about this book was that it was funny and it has parts that actually can happen in real life. The things I didn't like was that Greg acts like he is perfect throughout the book and that the pictures were stick figures and weren't colored. The people that would like this book are people who like a good laugh and kids from around 10 and up.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid The last straw

I read the book diary of a wimpy kid the last straw the author is Jeff Kinney. The charaters are mom, dad, Rodrick,Manny, Greg, and RowleyI think this is one of the best wimpy kid books I have read so far.
In this book Greg is faceing alot of trouble in life with familey and school. He is trying to get this girl Healther Hills to like him. This is also a great book for people who dont like long big chapter books.
My favorite part is when Rodrick lockks greg out of a room at a hotel and the funny thing is Greg is in his underwear. I would tell you what happens but i cant you will have to read the book to find out. This is a great book if you try to read this book and you love it there is alot more books in the series. Another great thing is you dont have to read the wimpy kid series in order.

I read the book of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Days. Written by Jeff Kinney. This book is about the main character and about his life and how he survives his life. I choose this book because I got the book a long time ago and it was just sitting on my self and then i decided to read this book.
This book is about Greg and his life. Now your probably thinking I don't like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but I would have to say I love this book. Now its about him with summer vacation. And how Greg's mom thought that they weren't reading enough so she invited like the whole neighbor hood to her place and talk about their books and what they are reading. So Greg's mom said "What did you all bring to the book club today". They only brought comic books.
One thing I liked about this book was how all the kids in the 'reading club' was how they all brought comics to the club. The other thing I really like was just the whole book and I really dont have any dislikes about the book. The age I would say to read this is at easy level. I would recommemd the book to everyone. The kind of people that would like this book is if you don't like to read then choose this book it is really easy and I loved it.

She followed the voice and she found a guy tied to a tree with deep wounds all over his body. She rescued him and didn't stop to think if he was a pixie or not. She helped out of the woods and then he insisted to just let him stay where he was. A few days later the same guy was standing in the middle of the road when Zara was driving home one day. Zara ended up crashing into a tree. The guy rescued Zara from her burning truck. He called 911 and then he told Zara his name was Astley and left. A few days later Zara and Nick went to go check on the pixies they captured awhile ago. When Nick and Zara where in the house they noticed all the pixies were lying on the floor dead. Then all of the sudden a pixie king attacked Nick. Soon after that Nick was taken away to a place where only weres and pixies could go before they die. hunted

I read hunted by p.c. cast and Kristin cast. This is the 5th book in the house of night series. This series is about a girl named zoey who has been gifted with an affinity for all 5 elements (water, fire, air, earth, and spirit) by the goddess nyx.
In the last book neferet the high priestess declared war on the humans, and an evil fallen angel awoke named Kalona.  Zoeys best friend got an arrow shot though her heart and it on the verge of death
In this book zoey had to save stevie rae from dyeing.  And figure out how to get rid of Kalona who has taken over the house of night. The high priestess neferet has turned her back on the goddess and now is worshiping Kalona. Neferet has ordered all fledglings to return to the house of night. Zoey gets badly injured when a raven mocker attacks her. A raven mocker is a child of Kalona and a woman that he raped. Zoey needs to go back to the house of night or she will die because she needs to be around other vampyers . When zoey gets back to the house of night everyone is under Kalona’s spell. Zoey calls them pod people. Zoey figures out a way to get Kalona to flee from the house of night. Zoey is starting to fall in love with stark, although zoey is just starting to fix things with her boyfriend Erik, and zoey has imprinted with her ex heath again. All this and the world as she knows it is falling apart is starting to get to zoey.
This book is great for all girls who like vampire books with a lot of action. The age that would be good for this book would be about 12 and up. One thing I did not like about this book is that it was kind of confusing at times and I had to re-read some parts like 3 times. one thing i liked about it is that it was very interesting and not one part in the whole book was boring.this book has 323 pages in it. The next book in this series is called tempted.

The Underdogs by Mike Lupica

The book I read is called The Underdogs by Mike Lupica. It is about a 12 year old boy who wants to get a team together for football that the town cut from the budget this year. I chose this book because I love sports and and football in general.
Joe Tyler is a young boy who is a star running back for the football team and this year the town cut the football team.So then he and his dad got a sponsor from New Balence shoes to supply the uniforms and cleats for the team. Then Joe Tyler had to go around school and look for players he had 12 just enough. They would play for the league championship and win it.
Two things I liked about the book was it was to do with sports and it was written by my favorite author, Mike Lupica. Two thing I didn't like was it was kind of a sad book and it had a lot of ups and downs. I recommend this book to anybody above the ages of 12 or 13.I would recommend it to a friend.Sports people would love to read this book.

Catching Fire

I recently finished a great book called "Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins. It is a fiction book with a touch of realistic in it. It has event that may happen in the future. I chose this book because I read the book before this one and I absolutely loved it!
Katniss, the main character, is faced between to decisions. One-obey the rules and do what is right to avoid a rebellion against the Capitol. The consequences for that is the other decision. Two-get punished along with all her family, friends, and other relatives including the whole district. All Katniss wanted was a free life for all the districts and for the Capitol to lose control of the districts. She wanted to spark up a change in their society and she was their leading role model. Of course, the Capitol doesn't agree. That forces up a rebellion against the districts and the Capitol. Even more, it is the year of the third Quarter Quell. A Quarter Quell is 25 year anniversary that gets viewers even more excited than the Annual Hunger Games. This year, the president, President Snow, wants all the citizens of all the districts to know that no one can overpower the Capitol. So, the reaping will be held among the victors. Meaning, the victors among each district will be reaped among the victors from the specific district. There will be a female and a male victor from each district participating in the Games. So, Katniss is the only female victor among her district. She and Haymitch or Peeta will be once again participating in the Hunger Games...
Two things that I liked about the book is that it is very adventurous and action taking. The age group that this book is appropriate for is around 12+. The reading level of this book would be 6/10. I would recommend it to a friend and a Hunger Games fan.

untamed

I read untamed. Untamed is the 4th book in the house of night series. This book is written by p.c. cast and Kristin cast. All the books in this series are about a girl named zoey who has been gifted with an affinity for all 5 elements (water, earth , fire, air, and spirit ) and is turning in to a vampyer.

In the last book zoey messed up and had 3 boyfriends at once.  All of her friends turned on her and the one person that zoey thought she would never be friends with became her only friend. Zoeys best friend stevie rae died in the last book and she was still grieving over that and now she came back from the dead
In this book zoey is trying to figure out how to get all her friends back and still learn how to master her powers. After two vampyers are killed neferet the high priestess of the house of night declares a war against humans. Shekinah the high priestess of all the vampyres shows up and stops the war before it even starts. Stevie rae is a part of a group of (red) fledglings. red fledglings are fledglings that have died and came back from the dead. Zoey wants everyone to know about the red fledglings so they can be accepted. Zoey starts to hear ravens outside all the time and Aphrodite had two visions about zoey dyeing. Zoey tells her grandmother about everything that’s has been going on with the ravens and she told zoey that a demon was going to arise and zoey needed to stop it. Zoeys grandmother gets in a car accident because a raven flew in front of her car and zoey needs to figure out what to do without her grandma’s help.
This is a fantastic book that would be great for just about all girls. One thing I hated about this book is that it left you hanging at the end like crazy. One thing I loved about this book is that it sucks you in and it is like you are a part of the book. this book has 388 pages in it but it goes by really fast. the next book in this series is called haunted.

Articles of War by Nick Arvin

Articles of War by Nick Arvin is a fascinating book. In the beginning it tells about a young eighteen year old boy from Iowa named George Tilson, A.K.A Heck, because he promised his mother before she died he would never swear. He joined the army and was sent to Omaha beach right after D-Day on June 6th. He wanders off a lot of times and one time finds a crashed German plane, and see's a boy and a girl crawl out. The boy screams really loud, and he goes to help. The boy stepped on a land mine. He then meets the boys father, Albert. In the middle, Heck is sent to the frontlines, and his group gets ambushed by Germans. He gets lost and cannot find his squad mates. He then finds some soldiers, and regroups with them. He then gets lost and ambushed again, finds some other squad mates, but falls through the floor of the building, and scratches his leg. Thinking nothing of it, he decides to climb out. With his fellow squad mates looking for him, he calls out and says, "I'm here!". They continue to patrol until he can no longer walk, and a medic comes by and takes him to an aid station. He is out of action for a little while and sent back to the beach. He goes back to the front after a few weeks and finds his company, the 28th Infantry Division. But there are not many of them listed. There is the Lieutenant, the Seargant, Opie, Zeem, and many others left alive. They begin to go on patrol and find a stray dog. The men leave food and water for her, and she begins to follow. They name her Sweetie. They take a quick rest and the Lieutenant is killed by a sniper. Not having fired his rifle, Heck takes aim at Sweetie, but misses, and scares her off. Another one of his squad mates comes around and asks him what happened. He says he scared the dog off. In the end, Heck and his company acquire a new Lieutenant, and move into a one German controled town. The Germans soon come to take it back. When happening, Heck and a tall blonde soldier clear one house. They find a chest and it blows the blonde soldier to smitherines. Heck, once realizing he wants to get out, sticks his hand up in hopes of being shot, instead he gets shot in the wrist.

Someone to love me

I've read Bluford High: Someone to love me, By Anne Schraff. I though it was a great book that just makes you wonder what if that was me.

Cindy, a freshman at Bluford High, is a troubled teenage girl who just wants to be loved. But her mom is giving all of her attention to her young boyfriend Raffie. Cindy hated Raffie and his disrespectful acts toward her mother. Cindy never goes to school but the one day Jamee(her best friend) forces her to and there she meets Bobby Wallace. He was charming, funny, and cute but he was Jamee's ex. Bobby has a history for being abusive towards women. But Cindy can't resist liking him. Afterward things go downhill. Bobby starts acting up again and ends up with the police and everyone knows the truth about Raffie, including Cindy's mom.

This story tells me that there is always a way out of something you don't want. You just have to have help. This book was amazing and a quick read.

The Lost Boy

The Lost Boy was written by David Pelzer. This is a shockingly true story. This is also the sequel to A Child Called It. I chose to read this book because I had read A Child Called It and had to finish Davids story, see if he got his fairytale ending that he deserved.
In this story David wanted to find love. After being abused by his mom while his dad stood by and watched. He still loved them. David is placed in many foster houses but as you may know a house is not always a home especially for David. He struggles to get attention and in turn makes some bad choices. So David goes from foster home to foster home in search of love...
I liked that this was a true story and that it allowed you to look at someones life that is 10 times worse for them then your life is for you and yet they are grateful. I did not like how David acted sometimes in this book. This book is appropriate for no one under at least the 7th grade.
