I finished a book called "Sweethearts" by Sara Zarr. This book is mostly realistic fiction. I chose this book because the book cover looked interesting.
Jenna, also know as Jennifer, is a member of the Harris family. She changes a lot throughout the book. She was not well liked as a child so she decided to change everything about herself. Her name, her style, her character, her school, her friends, and many more. But only one person knows the truth. Cameron Quick was her best friend in the other school before she moved and became a whole different person. Her decision on changing is even based on him. Jennifer was told that Cameron died when he actually moved. Jennifer's only friend was only Cameron. So it was a tragedy for her when bullies made up a story that he died when he actually only moved. That always stood in her way of moving on. Finally, she got over it and started a new life. Moving to a new school and start with a whole different herself wasn't hard either. Well it wasn't...until Cameron showed up. Her boyfriend was then confused, her friends were then confused, but most of all she was confused of seeing him.
Two things that I liked about the book is that it is descriptive and not confusing. The age group this book is appropriate for is 10+. The reading level is 4/10. I would recommend it to a friend. The kind of people that would like this book is a person that likes to read.
