Sweethearts

Sweethearts by Sarah Zarr is a wonderful book. This book is a romance novel. I chose to read this book because I liked the title and cover. I wanted a quick read and a cute book.

In this book Jennifer was a chubby 3rd grader who had no friends, except Cameron a boy just as troubled as her. Jennifer and Cameron are boy friend and girl friend (neither have good families). Then Cameron moves and Jennifer thinks he has died. Her mother then remarries moves, Jennifer changes her name to Jenna and tries to forget Cameron. But as childhood sweethearts Cameron comes and finds her (he comes from California). He joins her small school and all her senior classes. Cameron lives in his car because he wants to see Jessica. But Jenna's boyfriend does not like Cameron.......

I loved that this book talked about Jenna in present time and then in italics talked about her past. I love how Jenna changed throughout the book. I don't like how Jenna's mom is portrayed throughout the book. I would recommend this book to 7th grade and up. If you like romance novels you will like this book.
