The Doomsday Box

The book I read was The Doomsday Box. this book was written by Herbie Brennan and is the second book in The Shadow Project series. This book's genre is adventure/spy. I chose to read this book because it uses different spying techniques. In this book trained teenage spies use out-of-body and time travel to complete missions.

In this book Danny, Michael, and Opal are joined by a new member of the team, Fuchsia. The four of them must go back in time when the CIA accidentally releases the plague. They travel back to 1962. Their mission is to find the operative, Cobra, who would send through the samples. Their mission takes a turn when Opal and Michael are captured by the KGB. Unknowingly they may have met their target. Now they have to convince him not to send the samples through, something he wouldn't do for another 20 years.

One thing I liked about this book was the unusual techniques used by the team, like time travel and out-of-body. Also I liked how the team had to figure out what to do in order to get back on the right time line. One thing i didn't like about this book was when Mr. Carradine told Danny to kill Cobra if he didn't believe them. This book is appropriate for 11-14 year old kids who like spy and adventure books.
