New Moon

New Moon was written by the famous Stephanie Meyer. New Moon is when Edward leaves Bella believing that it would be healthier for her, but, if you have read Twilight, you would know that Bella is almost always reckless and stupid- what with hanging out with vampires and other fairy tales that are not supposed to exist. I chose this book because I wanted to know what happened after Twilight.

After Edward leaves Bella she goes to her friend Jacob Black in order to distract herself from the aching pain that Edward left her with, and to stay out of her depression without Edward so Charlie does not kick her out of the house. She discovers that doing something that her Edward would have considered reckless or stupid she can hear his voice tell her that it is a very bad idea, but she does it anyway just to hear his voice. While hiking on her own to find the meadow that she was in once before. In the meadow she runs into James' friend Laurent who tries to kill her, but not before he is attacked by the werewolves (Sam,Jared,Embry, Paul and Jacob-Bella does not know they exist and that Jacob is one of them). The day of Bella's jump Charlie looses one of his best friends- Harry Clearwater to a heart attack. Alice comes home to "visit" but really she is just home to make sure that Bella is alive. The day before Alice leaves she 'sees' that Edward is going to Italy to do things that you will have to read the book to find out.

Two thing that I liked about the book would be Bella's way of dealing with her sense of lose, and the detail of the places she is at. Two things that I did not like about New Moon would be the fighting between Bella and Jake. The other thing that i did not like about New Moon is when Alice and Jacob almost lose their self control and almost have a fight where someone would obviously die right in front of Bella. This is age appropriate for any body who is ready to read it. I would definatly recommend this to a friend. Twilght fans, animal lovers, guys, girls, anyone would like this book.

Dewey

I read a book called "DEWEY". The author of this book is VICKI MYRON with Bret Witter. This book is mainly about how one cat changed and inspired many peoples' lives, especially Vicki Myron's. I chose this book because when I saw the cover I thought it looked interesting because I like animals and when I read the back of the book I thought it would be a very inspiring book because on the cover it said it is about Dewey's inspiring legacy.

DEWEY is about a cat called Dewey Readmore Books who was shoved in the Spencer Public Library's return book slot. Nobody knew that this cat would be so inspiring, caring, friendly, and most of all...loving. The town of Spencer was going through a rough time. So many people wanted to have good lives, but what were they supposed to do? So, a lot of people were happy that Dewey came to the library. He came at such a good time because he was a friend to everyone, and at that time in Spencer, what most people needed was...a friend. For 18-19 years Dewey was a friend to everyone,he did a lot of funny things, and he became world famous, until he eventually got too old. You will have to read the book to find out what happened to him. So many people will never forget Dewey Readmore Books, the cat who was shoved into a library return book slot, changed the town of Spencer, became loved by millions of people, became world famous, and lastly...the cat who was just truly amazing.

Two things I liked about this book are how it was very inspiring and very detailed. Two things I didn't like about the book are that is is sad in some parts and that it may sometimes be hard to understand. I think this book is age appropriate for anyone who is 10 and up because there is a lot to understand in order to get what the book means. I would reccommend this book to my friends, and I think anyone who likes animals would enjoy reading DEWEY!

The Spiderwick Chronicles Book 5

The title of this book is Spiderwick Chronicles. The author of this book is Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. This book is mainly about 3 kids that encounter magical fairies and learn about their great great uncle Arthur Spiderwick. I chose this book because I like mystery books and stuff that talk about crazy adventures. This book's summary is when Mallory, Jared, and Simon meet more fairies then they had expected. They all meet and go through so many different adventures. They also meet their Aunt Lucinda she knows all about the fairies. They discover about this secret that has been in with Arthur Spiderwick. Two things I liked about this book was learning about the kids adventures and about seeing how they can do many more things with the fairies. Two things I didn't like was how they had to talk about what they do like breakfast, and that they have to say what had last happened. This book is able for anyone that would to read this. Yes I would recommend this to a friend. Anybody would like this kind of book.

Blackbox

I decided to read Blackbox by Julie Shumacher for my third independent reading book this year. This was one of my favorite books that i have read for my independent readings so far this year!

The story Blackbox is about a 14 year old girl named Elena, her sister, Dora who is 16 years old, and their parents. Elena and Dora have always been super close to eachother but everything had changed about 2 years ago, when Dora had gotten diagnosed with depression. Dora started getting independent with just about everything and stopped talking with her family as much as she used to, and she started to argue with them more and more each day. She is always tired and sleeping, always crying or depressed about something. Then she had decided to just try to get away from everything by trying to overdose on her depression medication. Nothing was happening to her yet, but one day before school she took it way too far, and when her parents caught her taking all the pills, they took her straight to the hospital where she then had to stay for twenty-three days to try to get better. When she finally got home, she changed and stopped trying to sneak the pills and overdose, or so her parents and Elena thought.

About a month later, she forged a note that said she had to leave early for a doctors appointment so she would be able to leave the school. But a random stranger had found her under a bridge with the pill bottle and Dora looked pale. So the random lady called the school and the school called her parents. Doras' parents had decided they had both had enough of what she was trying to do, so they sent her to a place for people like that. Elena wasn't understanding what was happening because she made Dora promise that she wouldn't do that anymore and she didn't think Dora would break the promise. Elena wouldn't talk to her before she left because she was really mad. That is what the book Blackbox is about and why i liked it and had chosen it for my independent reading book. I deffinitly recommend this book to other people!

Twilight

The book Twilight is written by the famous Stephanie Meyer. This novel is about a girl who leaves her mom Renee and her new step-dad Phil to move in with her dad in Forks,Charlie. I chose this book kind of because all of my friends have read it and I was curious too.

This book is about as you already know a girl who moves in with her dad because she doesn't want to travel with her mom and Phil. While staying with her father Bella meets some friends known as Jessica(aka Jess), Mike Newton, Ben, Angela, the Cullens (Dr. Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper(Jaz), Rosalie (Rose), Emmet , and Edward and re-meets an old family friend known as Jacob (aka Jake). While at La Push Bella meets the old family friend Jacob again. While talking with Jacob she realizes part of what the Cullens really are, but she doesn't know about all of that drama yet. While out at a game of baseball with the Cullens (Bella and Edward are no an item) they run into some other vampires; James, Victoria, and Laurent Bella then gains her own personal stalker- James. Bella has to hurt her father in a way that hurts herself too, just to ensure safety to her father from James. While in hiding from James she ends up going to fight James all from the power from a phone call. While fighting James she brakes her leg, gets bitten, and nearly dies of blood loss. Edward takes Bella to the prom after all is well-well almost all well Bella has a cast, her friend Jacob warns her for his father, and on top of it all she can't dance!

Two things that I liked about this book would be the action and the mystery. Two things I did not like about Twilight would be all of the chapters- most of them just skip to a completely new date. the other thing that I did not like would be how panicked Edward always got around Bella. I would never not recommend this to a friend. Guys, girls, animal lovers, and obviously Twilight lovers would all love Twilight.

Holes

To start, Holes is a book about a boy who goes to a bad boys camp for stealing shoes. When he gets there he meets other kids and fnds out how his past is intertwined with another kid at the camp's. In the book, the story keeps switching back between the past and present. Holes might appear to be a long book but it is a really quick read. It's mot really one of those deep books either that you have to really think about what is going on all of the time. So all in all i don't really care if you read holes but if you are looking for something quick to read for a few days,go for it.

the lightning theif.

In the book the lightning thief by Rick riordan a teenage boy by the name of percy jackson struggles in like because he doesant know who his father is. all he does know is that he loves water. later on in the book his teacher tries to atack him and he finds out who he really is.

in the middle of the book percy has to get his mother back and he has to fight lots of battles to get all three pirls. each pirl is a portal to wherever you want to go. at the end he finds out that his freind stole the lightning bolt and found out that it was in his sheild.

in all i really liked this book and i would recomend this to anyone who loves greek mithes and lots of action.

Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

The book Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld is a great book. One warning I have about this book is it switches between Charactors. Sometimes it's telling the story as Alek then two chapters later it changes to Deryn. If you haven't figured out yet they are the main characters. This book is exiting and suspenceful.

This book has a great intro. One thing it fails at is introducing both main characters. This book takes place in the older times. The twist is that these people are geniuses. There are two different sides; the Clankers and the Darwinists. The Clankers make these amazing machines for example a two-legged armed walker. On the other side the Darwinists make fabricated beasts for example a hydrogen sniffer which is a mixture of a snail and a dog. Well you find out Alek is the son of an Archduke which is a prince of the imperial family of Austria(Austria is Clanker Territory). Also you find out Alek's parents the Archduke and a commoner (Alek's Mother) were killed on a bussiness trip. Deryn also has a secret, she wants to be in the air force but the don't accept girls. Therefore Deryn acts like a boy and changes her name to Dylan. She was accepted but if she is discovered she will surly be kicked off the force.

This book is great I totally recommend it. The two down sides are that is is pretty long and it has a cliffhanger so you'll want to read the sequel. The sequel's name is Behemoth. This book is great and I suggest that you are a moderatly good reader. There is no bad language so its fine for kids(That are really smart). Read this book!!!!!!!!

If I Stay

I read the book called If I Stay by Gayle Forman for my second independent reading book this year. If I Stay is a really good book that I liked alot.
The book is about a young girl, Mia, who is a senior in a high school in Oregon. She has two parents and an 8 year old brother who love her a lot, and a very caring boyfriend who also loves her a lot. Her life is full of music because she plays the cello and she applied to be in the school of Julliard. But one normal day in February, they got a snow day but the snow was already melting from the ground and the roads. So, her and her family had decided to visit her parents' friends and Mia's grandparents for the day. When they were on there way to their friends' house, they got in a very bad car accident with a tractor-trailer. Both of her parents and her little brother had died from it, but she just got hurt very badly. She had a collapsed lungs, a ruptured spleen, internal bleeding, contusions on her brain, broken ribs, and abrasions on her legs. Nobody had thought that she would have made it, but everyone also knew how strong she was and she had proved them all wrong and ended up get surgery and then became fine. I really liked this book alot, and I deffinitley recommend this book to other people, too.

Warrior's series 1: Into the Wild

This book is called "Into the Wild". The author is Erin Hunter. This book is about a cat named Rusty, who meets Thunderclan, a clan of the forest. I chose this book becuase I loved it.
The cat named Rusty went into the forest one day. He found Thunderclan and decided to join it. The clan leader, Bluestar, changed Rusty's name to Firepaw, for his fur's vibrant color. At first he was put down because he was a "kittypet" as the forest cats called them, but he was soon accepted. Life is good for a while, but trouble lies ahead.
This booked got me hooked on the first page. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. The only thing I didn't like is that it ended too soon. Any person would like it. I liked it and I like dogs better than cats.

Rules

I read the book Rules by Cynthia Lord. The main topic of this book is about this girl named Catherine and she has a brother with autism. I chose this book because i read the back of it and it sounded good.

Catherine just wants a normal brother that knows how to behave and act normal but he will never because he has autism. So Catherine tries to teach him a lot of rules.

One thing I liked about this book was that it was funny and it kept me interested. Another thing I liked about this book was that I understood it very well and it made lots of sence to me. One thing I didn't like about this book was it was very sad and Catherine always yells at her brother because he is not normal. I think this age group is appropriate for fith grade and up. I would recommend this to a friend in a heart beat. My opionion is I think a girl would like this book.

Luna

I read the book Luna. It's about a girl and her very unnormal family. Her whole life her brother, Liam, has made it difficult to be a normal girl. Her brother is a transgender and she's the only one who knows it because she's the only he trusts. While there dad has always been forcing Liam to do sports like a normal boy his age, he looks up to his sister for help. When she finally finds a guy she really likes and he likes her too, Liam puts there relationship in jeopardy by showing up to school dressed like a girl. When everybody notices that the girl is really Liam, everybody makes fun of him. His sister officialy hates him and says she will never forgive him. When Liam tells her that he is going to a different state to have surgery and won't be home for a while, she realizes that she could never hate him. I really liked this book and i'm sure many other people will too! I also recommend this book too anyone!

Mockingjay

MOCKINGJAY
The book that I read is the last book of The Huner Games series. It's called Mockingjay. The books were written by the amazing author Suzanne Colins. This book is about a young girl tryinging to help win a war against the capitol, by being the Mockingjay. I chose this book because I have read the other two books in the series. Those books, The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire, were so good I had to read this book too.
Katniss Everdeen is a young 17 year old girl who lives in district 13 in the country of Panem. Katniss has just been rescued by the rebels (people against the Capitol), from her 2nd Hunger Games. The rebels brought her to their district, 13. Katniss and her family used to live in district 12. However, while she was in the games the Capitol completly obliterated the district, so it is no more! Not everyone got out in time, but Katniss' family and best friend did, and now they are all living in 13. Thirteen was obliterated over 75 years ago, but people came back and made the secret underground district. The rebels and the Capitol are in a war against each other. The rebels want Katniss to become their Mockingjay. The symbol of the rebels. Katniss doesn't agree right away though. The Capitol and the awful president have done so much horrible things to all of them within the last year. The things that Katniss wants most is for the rebels to win the war, and to personally kill the president. She also, wants to rescue her friend Peeta who is being held captive in the Capitol. However, even though she wants all these things there are many obstacles. The Capitol is much stronger, so the rebels must get ALL the districts on thier side. Also, many other obstacles. So, Katniss agrees to be the Mockingjay, on a few conditions. The most important, that she kills the president. Even though she is now the Mockingjay, she has MANY obstacles to get through before the war is over. You'll have to read the book too find out what happens. If she is allowed to go and fight, if the rebels win, and if she kills the president.
I absolutly LOVED this book! The author does such a good job of writting it. You feel like you are actually in the book. I really liked that. I also liked how it left u in suspense at the end of almost every chapter. However, I didn't like how the book ended it made me mad! I also, didn't like how many people dies it made me sad:(! I personally feel in love with this book and I think that many other people will as well. So, I would definetly recommend this book to anyone, probably 13 and up.

Uglies

The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld . I was so so about this book in the beginning but I really liked it at the end . This is the first book in the series , the second book to the Uglies is the Pretties and the third book is Specials . This is a very thrilling book . It's full of excitement and danger .

"In a world of extreme beauty , anyone normal is Ugly" . This book is when you are under sixteen you are considered ugly . But , when you turn sixteen you get a operation done so that you look pretty , but that people don't know is that during the operation they take out a piece of your bran that makes you a individual . So , some people that don't want to have the operation done they run away to a place called the "smoke" . The specials don't know were the smoke is so that they can track down the people and take them back for the operation because they don't want to be found .

I loved this book because you never knew what was going to happen next and that it had good description . I didn't like how it left you hanging at the end of the book . I would recommend this book for people 13 and up . People who like to read mysteries would like this book .

Catching Fire

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is the second book in the amazing Hunger Games series. This book is slow at first but then gets really exciting through the book. If you ever feel like its to slow push through it because the ending is worth reading and you wouldn't know what was going on in the third book.
Catching Fire is about what happened after katniss and Peeta get out of the Hunger games and how there life is when they get back to distract 12. Things get complicated between Katniss,Gale, and Peeta and people in the Seam rarely talk to her because she is famous and rich now. katniss also has to deal with the tour around all the distracts to talk to all the sad people, while trying to convince all of Panem that her and Peeta are really in love ( which involves allot of lieing). She has no idea tough, what is in store when she hears about the quarter quell.
One thing I liked about this book was that at the end it got really exciting and action packed. I also liked how the author described some of the people at the capital. I didn't like how slow it was in the begging because nothing good happens. I also didn't like how it left you hanging and wanting more. i recommend this book to anyone who read the first book and anyone else 13 or over!!!!

Being Nikki

Being Nikki is written by Meg Cabot. She also wrote the prequel to this book, Airhead. I choose this book because I had read the previous book in the series and I wanted to continue reading them. I really enjoyed this book and I hope that you will too.

Being Nikki is about Em(emerson) Watts's life as the famous supermodel and movie star, Nikki Howard. Em has been Nikki since she had a brain transplant into Nikki's body after a TV fell from the Stark Mall ceiling crashing on her head and killing Emerson until she got the transplant. Em has had to give up freedom, privacey, family(only her parents and sister know about it) and her best friends/secret crush, Christopher. He has been so depressed since Em's death that he has become a walking dead. One day,Christopher decides to hatch a plan to hack into the Stark website and somehow get Stark shut down. Em agrees to help him since she'll get to spend time with Chris even if he doesn't know its her. At her christmas party that her loftmate Lulu throws, Christopher reveals to Em that he knew it was her ever since she left the glow-in-the-dark dinosaur stickers on his desk. They then team up with Felix, Christopher's cousin, ewho is a computer genouis to shut stark down. Then Nikki's brother,Steven, shows up and askes her to help find their Mom. Em explains everything to him and agrees to help him since she feels bad about everything that has happened to him. Then Brandon stark kidnapps Em and makes her say that she is in love with him and that she never wants to see Christopher again.
Em wants to shut down Stark but Brandon Stark threatens to tell his dad unless she went away with him so she tries to get him to go against his dad and he does. I really liked this book. I would reccomend this book to middle school girls since it is a chick flick.

The Magician's Elaphant

The Magician's Elephant by Kate Dicamillo is a book that involves an elephant, a magician, a coin, and a dream. A little boy wanted to find out if his sister is still alive. He bring a coin to the market for food and comes back empty handed.
I enjoy this book because you never know what will happen. I also like this book because it amazes me that all these things are happening at once. I dislike this book because it has little writing and it can get confusing at times. I reccomend this book to anyone who as an imagination or gets cought up in books.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

The book that i read is the diary of a wimpy kid.The book is about a kid whose name is Greg Heffley and he trying to survive his first year of middle school and he is not the best kid for middle school because he short, not strong at all, not popular at all, and he has a friend and his name is Rowley whose mom treats him like he is in 1st grade, and he gets dressed like a little kid.On the first day of scool it was tough for both of them because they are new and they are dorks to all of the other kids. One day after school Rowley says do you want to come over and play that was a bad choice for him because they both go picked on after that. Now im going to talk about the last day of school because during school there are awards in the yearbook and greg wanted get one so he tried everything to get one of them so on the last day he got honerd with the best friendship with rowley and thats the only good thing happend that year for them.

My favorite thing about this book is that the 2 kids go threw the pain that some kids dont go threw becuse there popular and my favorite character is Rowley because he is one of the dorks and Greg has to deal with him threw middle school because he is his only friend and Rowley is annoying.

Mocking Jay

Mocking Jay by Susan Collins is the third book in the fantastic series the Hunger Games. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. I chose to read this book because after the first and second book of the Hunger Games series I was really thrilled to read this book!!!!!!!
Mocking Jay is the amazing book about how Katniss tries with the help of her allies to take down the horrible capital and bring Panem to peace. Katniss takes on the role of the Mocking jay int he rebellion and has the job of telling everyone about and uniting the people, well fighting on the front lines. This book is a remarkable story and I was crushed when it ended in this book!!! This is really worth the read if you liked the first and second book too.
One thing I liked about this book was that it was non stop action at the end and very intense. Another thing I liked was how the author wrote the characters and their feelings. One thing I didn't like was that it got really confusing at the end and I and to read it like 5 times before i got it. I One Thing that i hated was the way it ENDED!!!! I thought it kind of wrecked the whole series and made the third book really bad. i still love the series though and really recommend this to anyone who really wants to read a really good book and for anyone 13 or older.

Airhead

Airhead is a good book about a girl named Emerson Watts and her high school life. Airhead is the first of a three book series along with Being Nikki and Runaway. The author of this series is Meg Cabot. I choose this book because my sister kept badgering me to read books by this author. Also I was shopping for my birthday with my grandparents at Barnes and Noble and my grandma picked this up and told me to trust her, I'd be interested and I was.
In Airhead, Emerson Watts is just your average braniac who maintains a tomboy attitude by playing video games and hanging out with her, hopefully some-day more than friend, bff Christopher. Emerson, who likes to be called Em, tries her best to ignore the "Walking Dead" otherwise known as anyone who follows whatever Whitney Robertson says. Her little sister,Frida, becomes one. Frida desperately wants to go to the Grand Opening of the Stark mall in town but she can only go if Em takes her. At the Stark Mall, disaster strikes. Em wakes up int he hospital to descover that she is now,the famous fashion icon and movie star, Nikki Howard. Life as she knew it seces to exist.
This book was awesome. It was full of drama, heart break and lots of secrets. I liked how this book was interesting and kept you wondering throughout the book. Also, I liked how this book was full of some problems people face every day and some problems that have never happened before, but you'll need to read this book to find out more 'cause my lips are sealed. I didn't like how it left you hanging at some parts. I didn't like how confusing some parts were. I would reccomend this to teen girls since I don't think guys would like to read a "Chicklette" book.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a Disney Enterprises book. This book was filled with action. I could not put this book down.

The Sorcerer's apprentice was about a boy named David. David had a crush on a girl named Becky. On their fourth grade field trip he wrote a note to her asking her if she wanted to be his boyfriend. Becky left the note on the fountain, when Dave went to get it it blew into a Sorcerers magic shop. Dave wandered into the shop and met Balthazar Blake. Balthazar was a sorcerer,he was a Marlinian which meant a good sorcerer. His arch enemy was Maxim Horvath a Morganian, which meant bad sorcerer. Horvath and Balthazar were trapped in a Chinese urn for ten years.
They were let out when Dave turned 19. Horvath came looking for Dave thinking he had a doll that stored the most powerful sorcerer in the world. Balthazar saves Dave from Horvath. Balthazar starts training Dave to be a sorcerer. You will have to read the book to find out what happens next.

I thought this was a good book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action. I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. Two things I liked about this book are that it was easy to read, and it was full of action. I didn't like the beginning because it was kind of boring and it didn't have enough detail. I also didn't like that the book was short. It could have been longer with more information in it. Overall, I did like the book and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good book to read.

Fang

Fang by James Patterson is the latest book in the maximum ride series. It is as great as the rest and pulls out all the stops. it is amazing and I couldn't wait to read this one. It was better then all the rest.
Fang is about how the flock go to around the world to help with global warming. But, the tension rises as Angle challenges max to be the leader constantly and tries to get rid of her. They have no idea what is in store when a new flying kid named Dylane comes into the picture and was Max's other perfect half. This book is great and really is amazing.
One thing that the author did in this book was that he made the print easy to read. He made it funny and really intense. One thing I didn't like was that it left you hanging. Another thing that he did was that he ended the chapters really fast. I recommend this book to anyone who has reads the rest. i don't recommend this to anyone who hasn't.

This Totally Bites!!!!

The book I read was This totally bites by Ruth Ames. The books about a girl named Emma-Rose Paley thinking that she's a vampire. This is a good book you should READ IT!!!!!!!!
Emma-Rose just thought she was a regular girl in 7th grade, like you and me. When her great-aunt Margo comes to visit Emma-Rose is getting second thoughts about who she is. Emma-Rose does a lot of resurching at the library with a boy she likes named Henry Green. In the end well you have to READ the BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!!!!!!
This book was really really good that I can't what to READ THE next BOOK!!! I would give this book a 5 on a scale 1-6. This book is great for kids from 8- people who can't READ THIS BOOK or their dead. READ THIS BOOK!!!!

Go Ask Alice

I read a book titled "Go Ask Alice". This is an honest, true diary about the life of a 15 year old drug user. The author is anonymous. I chose this story because I wanted to be informed about drugs and how it effects people's lives everyday, and I also thought reading a true diary would be interesting.

Alice's father was offerred a new job in Chicago, so the whole family, (Mom, Dad, Alice, her brother Tim, and her sister Alex), are moving away and starting off a new life. Alice is excited about this. She thinks that she can get away from her old, violent ex boyfriend Roger, and basically just turn into a whole different person! Oh, she turned into a different person alright. When they moved to Chicago, Alice was not happy. She was getting yelled at by her mother for going on a diet, and the only friend she made from school was a Jewish girl named Beth. But Beth was just one of those friends who came and went so quickly. Later on, Alice was unfortunately introduced to drugs. At first she thought it was just a one time thing, but eventually she became addicted...to almost every drug out there. When Alice was introduced, she got in to a whole bunch of trouble. She ran away to San Francisco with a girl she met from a boutique, Chris, and they did nothing but drugs, drugs, drugs! They almost never came back home. But when they did, Alice thought her life was perfect and she was practically away from drugs COMPLETELY. She knows what they do to you, and she doesn't want any more of it. But right when you think somethings going to go perfect, it doesn't. Alice had a bad trip, or a "bummer", and everything went terrible. She actually ended up being put into a mental institute for a while. But you usually can NEVER break away from drugs once you are addicted, and unfortunately, Alice hadn't realized that until it was too late.

One thing I liked about this book was that is was VERY detailed, which gave me images in my mind throughout the whole intire story. Another thing is that it makes you think, and has a message to it that could actually change someones life if they read it. The book is so true and so heart-warming that sometimes I couldn't even put it down. There was only one thing I didn't like about this story, and that was just that it is sometimes hard to follow because of how frequently they introduce new characters. But I always ended up getting back on track. I would DEFFINATELY recommend this book to a friend, and also people who are about 13 or older who would like to be informed about what drugs really do to you and how it makes people feel. I seriously think anyone could like this book if they really got connected to it!

I think everyone in the world she read this book. Its interesting and fun for teens at least. i give this book a ********** stars. My reason is it keeps you hanging and i love it. I think people who are like more on the edge of interesting should read this. I don't think people who aren't active and or don't have much of a social life would enjoy this much or know what there talking about.

Talent

Talent by Zoey Dean is about a group of girls who are spending their summer together hanging out and getting ready for eighth grade. Their names are Mac, Becks, Coco, and Emily. Mac, Becks and Coco have known each other for a long time but Emily just started hanging out with them. This is because Mac is looking for a talent and she cant find one because she thinks she is bad at everything and anything, Becks can surf really well and Coco can dance like there's no tomorrow. Mac saw the way Emily acted her way into the party they were at by pretending to be Davey Woodward's cousin and thought that she could not only be her agent and make her a star but she could use that to win the position of Social Chair. Emily talks to Mac and her friends and they take her shopping and she gets a make over and she practices for a role opposite of Davey, her all time crush. Her plan for the trip to L.A. wasn't to become a movie star, it was to hang out with her friend Paige who wasn't getting much attention from Emily.

The four girls go to a sweet 13 party for one of their other friends and Mac explodes becuase Becks and Coco were lying to her and Emily left because she found out the real reason Mac wanted to make her a movie star. Everyone found out how selfish Mac was and they left. Becks and Coco thought they could live without Mac by their sides all the time but they were a reck. They didn't know what to do. As for Emily she didn't really care. She was hurt, so after the party she went to her hotel and did nothing but hang out with Paige.

Emily was about to leave when Mac and her mom showed up at the airport and told her she got the part in the movie. Of course Emily was still a little upset, but come on! Who doesn't want to be a movie star? As soon as Emily's mom got on the plane, her and Mac went to get Becks and Coco because they couldn't do it without them. They all made up and they started eighth grade the next day.

Max

Max by James Patterson is the 5th book in the Maximum Ride series. It is a great book and is greater then the last. This book is a great thriller and really worth your time to read!!! This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and I couldn't put it down. After reading the last book I couldn't wait to read this one.
Max is about how max and the flock are now famous and in more trouble then ever now that there enemies know where they are. After taking a break in the flying shows Max's mom gets kidnapped because she is trying to prevent global warming. Max is not aloud to get her back unless she becomes an assassin for China. she knows that is not an option so she teams up with the Navy to go save her, and goes under WATER!!! This book has action at ever turn and really gets exciting.
One things I liked was that is was action packed. Another thing I liked was that it kept you guessing and was really funny. One Thing I didn't like was that it left you in suspense. Another thing I didn't was that it had small print. This book is for 12 or over. i recommend this book to anyone who has read the series so far!!

Little Women

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is a great book to read. This book is about four sisters are learning the value of life and how you can survive of little. I chose Little Women because my grandmother gave it to me and said i should read it.

Meg (16), Jo (15), Beth(13),and Amy (12) are living their lives with very little and want more and more every day. The girls don't realize how much they have until something tragic happens to one of the daughters.

In the book I like that it's a hardcover book with a large font. I also like the fact the you can never tell what is going to happen in Little Women. I definitely reccomend this book to any girl that is looking to read a book that you can't put down

Beastly

Beastly by Alex Flinn caught my attention and it might catch yours too! A different remake of "Beauty and the Beast'' that's going to keep you reading.

He's handsome, his dad is filthy rich, and he has the hottest girl in school wrapped around his finger(Sloane Hagen) Kyle Kingsbury a conceded student at Tuttle High (a private school) is about to get a wake up call. Not only is he conceded he was never nice to anyone in his whole life thinking he was the face of perfection. Until he picked on the wrong person, a very weird student at Tuttle, Kendra who was the perfect target. First he made her like him although she was hideous he offered to be her date for the homecoming dance. Then on the day of the dance he took Sloane and gave a rose to some nerdy scholar because he nor Sloane wanted it. Two rose petals had fell from it, Kyle stuffed them in his pocket. When he seen the witch like Kendra he and Sloane told her off! She warned him bad will happen but he thought it was just to scare him and it kind of worked.Later that night he found Kendra on his bed. She had transformed into a beautiful witch and told kyle he has two years (for the two rose petals) to find someone to love him as much as he loves them. While saying that, she turned him into a ugly beast and handed him a magic mirror that allows him to see anyone in the world.

When his father found out he thought it was a medical disease but when there was nothing to help he sent Kyle to live alone with a maid and a blind tutor. Kyle who changed his name to Adrian (the dark one) became miserable. He tried to find love on the Internet but with the magic mirror, Kendra told him it wouldn't work. Scared of his looks Adrian stayed inside. But with the tutor (will)as his new friend they both planted roses. Until one day a man broke into his green house ,scared of the beast he was willing to give up his daughter for his own life. Adrian took the offer only to find out that his daughter was the nerdy scholar from the dance. She started to hate him for taking her as his "prisoner." Lindy.

It took 5 months but Adrian and Lindy were practically in love. Soon he didn't keep her as prisoner she could leave but she didn't.Instead she loved there with him, but missed her sick cruel father, he was literally sick. Adrian was kind and let her go, she refused but went. As the months went by Adrian was alone again. He watched her sleep in the magic mirror , but only when she was sleeping. Until the last night of the two years he heard her voice,ADRIAN,ADRIAN. She was in the hands a creepy criminal. He ran through subways and streets not caring for the screaming bystanders, til he found an dark ally where he heard his name ADRIAN! ........risking his own life he got shot but he shot back the man was close to dieing and so was he. A kiss from Lindy, just at the stroke of midnight brought him to life and as Kyle.

Happier than ever he gets the girl and the hot looks back, learning a life changing lesson. Still being called Adrian he turned down living with his dad and lives with Lindy and his friend( the tutor .)

I think this book is my new favorite, his thoughts which were funny, exiting, and awkward was awesome. I didn't want to finish it i loved and i think you will too!

The Lost Boy

The Lost Boy by David Pelzer . "A Foster Child's Search For the Love of a Family " . This book is very inspirational . If you are like me then you will be crying throw it two . It is the the second book in the series and the third book is called The Man Named Dave .

Its cold and raining out but I am saying bye to another family that I just was welcomed to there homes some months ago . This is David's life . He never stays in the same home after he got moved to foster care because his mom abused him . He never gets to see him brothers and his dad is a drunk . His life is horribly hard .

I thought this book was just so . I did not like that it was very sad . Also , that he got into lots of trouble . I recommend this book for people 12 and up . People that like inspirational and sad stories would like this book .

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collines . Amazing book on how the future mite be . You will not be able to put the book down but st the same time you will want to save it .This is the first book in the trilogy .The second book is called Catching Fire and the third book is called Mockingjay .

The Hunger Games is about 13 districts that are ruled by the capital and every year they have the hunger games which prevents war . For the hunger games they pick a boy and a girl from every district to compete in a arena were everything is video corded and then put on the television . But there is only one rule , to survive . Every time someone dies there is a picture that goes up into the air . You never know what will happen next .

I loved this book so much . I love how how it ends and how it shows what are world could be like in the future . But I did not like how cruel the capital is and how painfully they died . I recommend this book for people 13 and up . People that can take reading about harsh stuff like war .

Catching Fire

The book that I read is called Catching Fire, by Susan Collins. This is about a girl, Katniss, who wants nothing but the Capitol and the president to leave her and her family alone! I chose this book because it is the second book to The Hunger Games that I have read. If u decide to read Catching Fire, make sure that you read The Hunger Games first. Everything will make much more sense.
Katniss Everdeen a seventeen year old girl, who has probably been through way more than grownups have, is the main character. Im not going to tell you about The Hunger Games, because that is a totally different story. However there are a couple of things you should know. She was sent to the hunger games, where 24 children have to fight to the death in an arena. Katniss and her friend were the winners. However in that book she did something rebellious toward the Capitol and the games. Now in Catching Fire she has to pay. The one thing she really wants is for the president to not kill her and her family. She wants to keep them all safe. They all just want to be left alone. However, really President Snow has the power to do anything to them, and he made sure to personally tell that to Katniss. Now that she has done that rebellious thing, her and her family are in danger! Because of those acts she took, more people and districts are starting rebellions. So, I think that the president by this time is just dying to get rid of Katniss. However, he can't without people knowing that it was him, and staring more rebellions. Since Katniss won the games its a rule, that she doesn't have to go back in the arena. Or does she? Find out what the president plans on doing and what happens or doesnt happen to Katniss.
This was a really good book, and there were many things I liked about it!! One thing I liked was how at the end of every chapter it left you hanging so that you couldn't stop reading and you had to go to the next chapter. Another thing is how in depth and detailed everything is. It is honestly like im actually there. I didn't like though in the story how the book ended, it just left me hanging and wanted to know more. Also, there were a couple slow parts in the story and I didnt like that. I would definetly recomend this book to anyone. I think that everyone should read the whole series sometime in there life. It is really amazing!! =)

Virals

I just finished reading the book Virals, written by Kathy Reichs. This book is based on the t.v series, bones. In bones, there is a forensic anthropoligist named Temperence Brennan. This story is abut Temperence's niece, Tory Brennan.

Tory is a 14 year old girl who moved to the middle of nowhere Morris Island, South Carolina. She moved to live with her marine bioligist father, who she has never known. There is tons of misteries that Tory, and her friends, Hi, Ben, and Shelton discover. Things are never as they seem on this Island. There is illegal labs going on, Break-ins, Tresspassing, and that's the least of it. There is also, Murder. Tory and her friends were hanging out on a nearby island, and discover a dead body, Katherine Heaton. Tory, trying to follow in her aunt's footsteps, refuse to let it go, they find clues, and put the pieces together. But, with their lives in danger with a virus, and a stalker, will it be too late?

This book was amazing! I wished it was neverending! Something I liked was how it always kept you on the edge of your seat. I also liked how the story lead you to believe one thing, then happened to be another. Something I didn't like was how short it was, It's a big book, but should have been longer. I also disliked how the book started. I think the appropriate age group would be middle school. I think anyone younger wouldn't be able to understand it. Also, anybody who likes the t.v show bones would love this book! I know I did!

Maximum Ride The Final Warning

Maximum Ride The Final Warning by James Patterson is the forth book in the Maximum Ride series and they all just keep getting better and more intense then the last one. I decided to read this book because after reading the first, second and third book I couldn't wait to read the next one!!!!! These are truly the best books to read!!!
Maximum Ride The Final Warning is about how Max and Flock step up to do something about global warming and decide to go one place they can really help.... ANTARCTICA !!! What they don't realize is that well they are helping in Antarctica they are also being hunted. This book I will admit was not as great as the other books and was last on the list of my favorites because it didn't have allot of action and stuff. All the book had was a lot of sleeping and eating and flying, but It was still a good book to read!
One thing I liked about the book was that it was easy to read with big words and stuff. I also like how it related to real life. I don't like how the chapters where it really where weird and I didn't like how there was like no action.I Recommend this book to everybody who read this series because it helps you understand the story. I would not recommend this book to anyone who has not because you will be very confused. This book is recommended for 12 and older.

Titanic's last secrets

The book Titanic's last secrets, by Brad Matsen. is about the sinking of the Titanic. The book starts earlier in the evening and continues hour by hour throughtout that awful historic night.

At eight o'clock on April 14th everyone was found at dinner. The weather was clear and calm, and everyone thought it was a perfect night. I doubt that anyone was thinking about hitting a ice burg on this night. For the next few hours, the passengers were having fun with the entertainment the were given, some people wen't to bed. every crew member was going about their normal routine. At eleven o'clock the ship struck the burg. Many passengers slept through impact. Nobody was aware that the ship was sinking until about one o'clock. Everyone was on the deck flipping out on crew members and full of panic. The bow of the boat began to slip under the sea at two o'clock.the story begins to carry on throughout the night. As the people on the lifeboats drift away, their ears are filled with screaming and horrar.

This book sends a shock to my heart. I cried thoughout the end. I would recomend this book to people who are interested in history. I loved the fact that the author made it feel like i was on the boat. I also liked that the book was completly different then any ohter Titanic story. I did not like how in the begining of the book dragged on, also the end just left me hanging, wanting me to grab the next book. On a scale from 1-10, I would rate it about a 8.

the diary of a wimpy kid 2 rodrick rules

Diary of a wimpy kid 2 Rodrick rules

This book is about how Rodrick rules, but he doesn't. I likes this book more than the first one because its more mature but its still baby ish. Greg has a secret that only Rodrick knows about. Rodrick is going to tell everyone so Greg does what he says.I think that unfair and the author should change the book. But that's just my opinion.

Personally i think nobody should read this book and the author should stop writing book until he comes out of his imaginary life...

Thanks signed out by Emma Grathouse!

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner by James Dashner is a very exciting and thrilling book about a lot of kids trying to escape a deadly maze that stretches for miles. The librarian showed it to us and I knew it was a good book.

This book is about a lot of kids who are trying to escape a maze. The point of the maze is really just a big test but we don't know what it's for. The main people in the book are Thomas, Alby, Newt, Chuck, Teresa, Minho, and Gally. Each month a new person comes into the maze, everyone is in this one spot were the monsters can't come at night because of the moving walls. At the end they try to escape, do they??? You will have to read to find out. This book is action packed and a very good book.

One thing I don't like about this book is that they wait to tell you what's happening and so you know about as much as Thomas. Another thing that I don't like is that it kind of cuts off the ending but that's about it. One thing that I like about the book is that it is full of adventure and you never know what is going to happen next. Another thing that I like is that the book is very detailed and you can visualize what's happening. I recommend this book to everyone who likes adventure books. I recommend this to everyone it is very good.

"The Second Summer of the Sisterhood"

The book I read is called "The Second Summer of the Sisterhood". The author of this book is Ann Brashares. I chose this book because I read the first book and I thought it would be interesting to see what happens in the second book. The book is mainly about how the four best friends have their summer adventures again.

The four best friends Bridget, Carmen, Tibby, and Lena are apart for another summer. They wanted to have a great summer, but they had to be apart, so they had to make the best of it. Bridget goes to Alabama.Carmen stays home. Tibby goes to college. And Lena is at her house for some time and also with her grandparents some time. So they send each other a pair of pants and they write each other letters to stay in contact with each other.

Two things I liked about this book are how it was very descriptive and adventurous. Two things I didn't like were how it switched from one person's point of view to the next, and how some parts were a little boring. I would recommend this book to my friends and to people who are 7 and up. I would rate this book 4 stars!!!

The Five People You Meet In Heaven

The book I read was The Five People You Meet In Heaven. It was written by Mitch Albom. It is about a 63 year old man who dies and goes to heaven and meets five people who changed his life. Those five people explain what part they have in his life and they are there to help him because he had some part in their deaths.I chose this book because some of my friends read it last year and said it was really good.
Two things I liked about the book are how much Eddie cared about other peoples feelings and how the people he met were willing to help him understand the events in his life. Two things I didn't like about the book are that Eddie has something to do with the deaths of the people and it's kinda sad. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read.

Maximum Ride Saving the World and Other exterme Sports

Maximum Ride Saving The World and Other Exterme Sports by James Patterson is the third book in the maximum Ride series and better then the first and the second!! I chose this book because after reading the first and second I really got hooked on the series and all the books. I think that this book is the best one yet!
Maximum Ride Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports is about how Max is trying to escape the "school" and find out how to destroy the "Institute" ( a really evil company the creates mutant kids to survive the world ending). Max has to do all that well aggravating scientist, dealing with her weird voice in her head and trying to find out what she has to do to save the world. This book will keep up wanting more and more and it does not let you on the action.
One thing I really liked about this book was that these books never get boring or old there is always something new to read about. I also liked how the author described some the experiments and people, this really helped you get into the story more. one thing I didn't I Like was that the author changed between people to fast. i also didn't like how he left you hanging (again)!! I recommend this book to anyone who read the first and second book of the Maximum Ride series and to anyone who really wants to find a good book to read. I recommend this book to anyone 12 and up and anyone who likes a action packed story!!

Number The Stars by Lowis Lorey

How do you think you're life would be if u were a Jewish living in Germany? Well, in Number the Stars by Louis Lowry Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen have that problem. Ellen is Jewish and Annemarie is trying to get Ellen and her family out of Germany so the soldiers don't get to them. However, Annemarie cant do it alone. Her Family will help along the way with her dangerous journey. Will she make it? Will her friend and her family suffer the consequences?

Annemarie runs in to some soldiers on the way and get put into some sticky situations. One of the most difficult situations is when the German police question the Johansens about the Rosens. Annemarie has to pretend that Ellen is her sister Lisa. Ellen is wearing the Star of David around her neck. Annemarie has to rip it off before the German police see it.

I would recomend this book to anyone who likes books about history even though it is fictional. I never wanted to put it down.

Coraline

The book that I recently read was called Coraline. Neil Gaiman wrote this book. Many of you are probably familiar with Coraline since there was a movie made a few years ago based on the book. The book is different from the movie so I would say to read the book.
In this book a girl named Coraline has to adjust to a new life style when she moves from her home to a new one. She is an only child, so there is never anyone to play with and her parents are always working and rarely have time for her even though they work at home. One day, Coraline decides to explore the grounds around her house and she finds some broken and rusty tennis court, dead garden and a covered well. While she is there she meets a black cat who stares at her for a second then scampers away. When it is time for dinner, Coraline heads home. The next day it rains so Coraline goes exploring around the house and finds a little door that leads to nowhere. That night, a mouse from upstairs wakes her and runs throught the door that now has a tunnel in it. Coraline crawls through and descovers her other parents and a whole world perfect for her. When she tries to leave, they take her parents.
Coraline wants to save her parents but her other mother captured them so she has to go back to the other world. She has to face many obstacles and hardships throughout the book. It is a very easy read. It has a little more than a hundred pages. It was a great book. It was very hard for me to put down and it took me three days to finish. I would definately reccomend this book to others. I think you should be 9 to how ever old since it has some parts that younger kids wouldn't like.

maximum Ride Schools out forever

Maximum Ride Schools Out Forever by James Patterson is the 2 book in the Maximum Ride series that really lets you get to know the flock better. After I couldn't put the first book down I knew that the second one was going to be even better! This book is great and really steps up the series!
In Maximum Ride Schools Out Forever Max decides to stay with a women Anne well Fang gets better from being injured by an eraser. Well they stay there Anne makes max and the flock go to a school with uniforms and bossy teachers, which they all hate, well trying to keep away from erasers trying to break into the school and kill them. There doing all this well trying to find there parents and help Max with her big mission to save the world. This book is really good, funny and dripping with sarcasm from Max and there talking dog Total.
One things I liked about this book was that the author had unexpected action. Another thing I liked that he did was he Also had really short words that you could understand you it was not as difficult to read the book. One thing I didn't like about they book was that some of the chapters were really short and didn't say much. I also didn't like how they left you hanging ( I don't like when books leave you hanging). I would recommend this book to anyone who read the first book and really liked it. I would not recommend this to someone who didn't read the first book because then you won't know whats going on! This is a great book for ages 12 and up and allot of people would love this book.

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

Forks is cold. It's rainy. It's almost never sunny. That's why they live here. The Cullens i mean. They're vampires. They sparkle, they don't have fangs, and they have one big clan in Italy called the Volturi.
Bella Swan didn't want to move away, but she did just to make her weird mother happy, with her new boyfriend Phil. She moved from smokin' Phoenix, Arizona to dreary Forks, Washington. There she meets Jessica, Mike, Angela and Eric. All the guys want her, and all the girls envy her.She can have any guy she wants, but she chooses Edward instead. Edward Cullen is hot. He has the emo swoony hair, and caramel colored eyes. He loves Bella, but he's a vampire, and there's a chance that he could kill her. (haha) Edward's family consists of all adopted teens/vampires. There's Alice (sees the future), Jasper (changes moods) Emmett, Rosalie, Carslile and Esme (parents). They all approve of Bella, everyone but Rosalie. Then the tracker vamps come to kill Bella, James, Laurent, and Victoria all hate Edward. In the end, James dies and Victoria swears revenge. Theres 3 more books, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking dawn.
I kinda liked Twilight. I read it, over and over again. I didn't like Bella because she has very low self esteem. Mostly she sounds ok, but at other parts you just wanna kill her. She sounds depressed. No one like depressing girls who are dating vampires. I read this book, because i saw the movie. I'd rate it 3/5.

Maximum Ride Book 1

My third independent reading book was a graphic novel Maximum Ride book 1. It was a really slow book until the middle. Its about a good of kids and teenagers who have wings and cant be found by society or they will be tested and dissected. One morning after breakfast they all decide to go outside to pick the fresh strawberries and a guy named Ali takes a little girl named Angel and leaves on a helicopter. Maximum gets really sad and determined to find Angel because Angel is like a daughter to Maximum. Angel is taken to a laboratory and they test her knowledge and reflexes. At this point Angel thinks everyone has forgotten her and she will be tested forever and forever will end when they decide to dissect her. Then maximum goes with her two other friends Nudge(girl) and Fang(boy) leaving behind two boys Iggy(older) and Gazzy (younger) home alone. Gazzy does not take it well and so Iggy and Gazzy make a deadly plan... To figure out what that plan is check out this book at the library. I recommend this book to anime lovers and people who like slight romance that you can even tell if your not paying attention between Fang and Nudge.Read This BOOOOK

DramaCon Book 1

For my second independent reading book i chose to read a graphic novel called drama con. This book was very good. Its about a a boy named Derek and a girl named Christie who goes to a drama con for vacation with their two other friends. When they get there Christie is exited to see new things and show off her new comic she made with her boyfriend Derek. Its all great until Derek starts flirting with other girls and Christie gets mad. She runs off and runs into a guy, she has no idea who he is but instead of saying oops my bad and walking away, she hugs him and starts crying and venting about her boyfriend being a loser and stuff. From then on they were friends and Slowly Christie falls in love with Matt(the boy she ran up to) and when Derek sees them kissing he.... Well it looks like you have to read it to figure that out. I recommend this to all girls who love anime and romance.

diary of a wimpy kid

Diary of a wimpy by Jeff Kinney

This book is about a boy who goes to high school for the first time. His best friend Rowley is a total fool. Greg trys to teach rowley how to be "cool" but ends up being less cool than Rowley. Greg acidently breaks Rowleys arm which ends there friend ship in away that doesnt envolve a brocken arm really.

I think this book is * star book. My first reason is i fished it in basicly one day. Secondly it was mostly baby words. Last of all the book is pointless. Every good book is supposed to have a point and this one had not one point so i peronally think noone else should suffer and read this book. But if you do you will be outragged by what you just read and NOT in a god way.

Impulse

The poetic novel "Impulse" by Ellen Hopkins is about three teenagers - Tony, Vanessa, and Connor - who attempt suicide, but fate has interfered with their plans and saved them. Now, they are put in a psych hospital, trying to find a quick way out and also kicking their habits. I have previously read "Crank" and "Glass" by the same author, and loved it! So I decided to step away from that series and see what else Ellen Hopkins wrote.

The novel follows the story of three teenagers: homosexual Tony, bipolar Vanessa, and rich Conner. Tony's painful childhood forces him to turn his problems to pills. Vanessa's pain can be taken away from her, thanks to a blade. Conner, who has everything in life, gives into pressure and decides to do one thing he thinks is rational: pull the trigger. Although, fate interferes with their plans, and saves them from dying. Fate also brings them together by bringing them to a psych hospital in Reno, Nevada. As the story progresses, you hear about their painful pasts while they try to find a way out quickly. Also, an event happens that will change their lives forever.

The book was powerful and emotional, which made it enjoyable to read! I think it really teaches teenagers, my age and older, that suicide can hurt you and affect others around you. Although, some parts of the book made it a little uncomfortable to read because of the material that Ellen Hopkins mentioned in it, such as details about cutting and so on. Other than that, it was a very smooth read and I think if you enjoyed "Crank" or "Glass", you definitely will enjoy "Impulse". Even if you haven't read any of the books by Ellen Hopkins, the book is definitely amazing! Although, if you feel uncomfortable with suggestive language or material that are mentioned, I recommend that you don't read it. It's another amazing novel by an amazing and unique author!
