Airhead by Meg Cabot

Airhead is a science-fiction drama story about socially challenged Emerson Watts. Emerson has many problems. One of them being she's named after a famous poet that's a guy. Her sister is a Walking Dead, as Emerson calls people who follow her rival, Whitney Robertson. Her sister, Frida takes her to a Stark Store opening which threatens Emerson's live. It fatally changes life forever.
Emerson wakes up in the hospital, with the famous singer, Gabriel Luna, sitting at her bedside with a bouquet of red roses. Once he leaves, Emerson remembers what happened at Stark Store. She was standing in line with her bff, Christopher and her annoying sister Frida. (Em is in love with Chris.) The as soon as famous model, and fashion icon, Nikki Howard walk into the store, a plasma screen tv falls on Emerson, and Nikki passes out. Emerson's brain is transplanted into Nikki's body. Emersonends up living Nikki's life. Emerson gets kidnapped by her bf Brandon Stark and her 'bff' Lulu Collins. But can she keep up with Nikki's life? If not, what will happen?
Airhead was literally an easy read. It had very high literature words, but i understood them. I loved this book. I would reccomnd this to people who love models. I chose this book because i liked the title, and cover. I'd rate it 5/5.

The Steps by Rachel Cohn

The Steps by Rachel Cohn is story told by this brat named Annabell who lives in NYC with her Bubbe, and her actress mother, Angelina. Her father, Jack lives in Sydney, Australia with his 'replacement family' which consists of his wife, Penny, his step-daughter, Lucy, his step-son, Angus, and his new daughter, Beatrice. When Angelina decides she wants Annabell to visit her father, Annabelll refuses because she literally hates her step family for stealing Jack from her.

Annabell doesn't want to go half-way around the world to see a buch of people she hates. Her mom, Angelina (Annabell calls her parent by their first names.) makes her go anyways. Annabell immediatly hate her same-age step-sister Lucy. Lucy knows nothing about boys, or fashion. She's also too peppy for Annabell's likng. But when she finds out Lucy has no friends, she starts to soften the hatred towards Lucy. Annabell loves her half sister Beatrice though. But she has some concerns about Angus. Lucy and Annabell end up running away to see Lucy's Granny Nell all the way in Melbourne, where Annabell meets, Ben this really hot guy. Ben's 14 yers old, and Annabell loves him. But when Jack and Penny find out about Lucy and Annabell's running away shanaigans, Annabell thinks she'll never see the light of day again.

The Steps has 137 pages. I thought i wouldn't like the book, on account it so short. But in the long run the book is funny and a teenage novel. It's decent. i'd rate it 4/5. I'd reccomend it to girls who have crushes, or like running away to see their grandma's. The book was a good read though.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I read, My Sister's Keeper. The story is full of drama, love devotion. and suprise. It was an easy read, and a greatly written book. The book is about a girl, Kate Fitzgerald who has luekimia, and she has her younger sister, Anna about to donate one of her kidneys. But does Anna want to put up with it?

Anna is 13 years old. Her sister, Kate is 15 and is dying of luekemia. Kate needs blood transfusions, bone marrow transplants, and a kindney transplant. Anna loves her sister dearly, but doesn't want to go through with all the procedures. But that is her meaning in life, to help Kate. She was created in a test tube, just for Kate's well-being. Even Kate's older brother, Jesse is going through with bood platelet transfusions, but Jesse doesnt have the right blood type for Kate. Neither does her over-protective mother, Sara, or her loving father, Brian. When Anna decides she no longer wants to be Kate's only hope to life, Cambell Alexander, and Julia Romano (Cambell's ex- gri;friend and the person who decides wheter Anna's ready to make such a big decsion.) become involved, and Sara needs Anna. Sara most importantly needs Kate. But when Kate meets Taylor, the boy with cancer also, will Kate saty alive long enough for Taylor and her to have a relationship?

My Sisters Keeper was an excellent book. The story is full of true pain and passion. I chose this book because i saw the movie, and wanted to know if it endd the same. Sadly, it didn't. I would reccomend this to 13- 40 year old people. It desereves 5 stars oout of 5.

Slob

I read the book Slob By Elen Potter. What inspired me to read this book was the author I wanted to read the book Pish Posh by the same author but the library didn't have the book so I read Slob, and it was a good book.

This book is about a 12 year old named Owen, who is the fattest kid in school. Other than being fat Owen is very smart and makes cool contraptions. Something happened to Owen 2 years ago and he doesn't know what it is.Like how ONE of Owens oreos get taken out o his lunch everyday. If Owen could get things up and running it would all start to make sense to him. Then Owen could find out who was taking those cookies of his.

There were many things that I liked and there were many things I didn't like. Some things I did like were that it was detailed, and another thing that I liked was that it had my favorite cookie(oreo). Some things I didn't like was that they made Owen the fattest kid in the school, another thing I didn't like was that it didn't leave an mental picture in my head. I would recommend this book to people that like oreos, and from ages 10-13. I would rank this book a 3 out of 5.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

The book Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney is a book i recommend because it's a book of comedy. This book is so funny it will have you laughing at the edge of your seat! The main character and also the narrator of this story, Greg, writes in his "Journal" about what happens in school, at home, and even at Rowly's house.

In the book, Greg, is a middle school boy who always gets picked on and always gets into trouble. His best friend, Rowly isn't much help either. His older brother, Rodrick, does everything he can to humiliate Greg in everything he does. Life for Greg is pretty hard.

Cut by Patricia McCormick

Cut. Run. Cut. Run. That's what 15 year old Callie's mind does before Sea Pines, aka Sick Minds has even been a suggestion for her. Her brother, Sam, her cat Linus, her mother and her father are home, waiting for her. While she watches girls with, eating disorders, acholhol and drug addictions, make bonds and frienships.

'Cut' is a realistic fiction story about a 15 year old girl named Callie who cuts herself. She was a trackrunner, and an older sister to her sick brother, Sam. Sam has terrible asthma, he has horrendous attacks. Anyways, while at the loony bin,(Called Sea Pines but patients call it Sick Minds) Callie decides not to talk. Not to her roomate, not to the group therapist, Cynthia, not to her counselor, which messes with the other patients heads'. The other patients are Debbie, Tara, Tiffany, Syndney, and the new cutter, Amanda. But then Callie starts to talk to everyone. Read about the drama going on at Sick Minds.

This book was vivid, inspiring novel, riveting, and a mind-blowing story of mental pain. The story is told in first-peron. Callie adresses her counselor in her mind as you. That is what makes the book unique. I would reccomend this to Wintergirls fans. I'd rate this 5/5. READ IT!!!

Tangerine

I read a book called Tangerine by Edward Bloor. I chose this book to read because I was the cover and it really caught my eye because it had a soccer ball on it. So I read the back of the book to see what that book was about, and it sounded very interesting to me so I starting reading it. This book is about a boy who has a tiny medical condition, this boy loves to play soccer. So the boy went to soccer practice ready to play and just then his coach tells him he can't play because of his medical condition.

The boy wanted to be able to play soccer but he had to wait a little while until he could transfer to a different school where he could play soccer, so eventually he did move and he tried out for hat soccer team and he made it!! Also he met a new friend while he was there, actually he met quite a few kids there, of course they were on the soccer team. Then he transferred back to his original school and had no one to talk to because his beat friend had found a new best friend. Read the book and you'll find out what happens next!!

Two things I liked about the book are that it was about soccer. Also I liked that he could play soccer again because I myself got frustrated that he couldn't play. Two other things that I didn't like were that he couldn't play with something that he has played with all his life. Also I didn't like that he went to a new school then went back to his old school then back again, too much moving around.I think that kids that like soccer would like this book. I think this book is good for ages between ten through thirteen. I would recommend this book to my friends because all of them enjoy the sport of soccer. If I had to rate this book I would give it 4 stars.

Marked

The book I read was Marked. It was written by P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristen Cast. The book is about a school called The House of Night and it is the home of vampires and vampire fledglings. I chose this book because one of my friends recommended it to me.
A 16-year-old girl named Zoey gets Marked by a vampire tracker while she was in school one day. The only good part about it is that she will get to skip the geometry test she has been dreading. She tries to hide the mark until she is safely in her car but before she gets there the wind blows and her boyfriend and his friends see the mark. If only that were the worst of it. There is a bigger problem at home. She lives with her mom and her "steploser" John Heffer. John Heffer is part of the People of Faith and because of him, her mother hasn't been herself in 3 years. If the steploser hadn't joined the "family" her mother would have tried to be calm. Unfortunately for Zoey he did. He acted as if if he didn't start the prayer tree and all the family shrink the whole world would explode. Zoey had told her mom she was going to take a nap before everyone got to the house because she wasn't feeling well. That is one of the signs that your either going to get Marked or your body is rejecting the Change. Which will happen if your not safely in the hands of adult vampires. And because of all the madness at home Zoey knew there was only one person who could help her get safe. Grandma Redbird. When Zoey gets to her house after sneaking out of her bedroom window, she began to walk the long path to the field of lavender. But before she makes it to her grandma, she gets so light-headed she falls and hits her head and gets knocked out. The next thing she knows she is laying in a bed with Grandma Redbird and the High Priestess Neferet sitting at her side, at the House of Night.
Two things i liked about the book were one, the way the authors describe each character with so many details you can automatically imagine in your head what they look like. And two the cliff hanger at the end of the book that made me want to read the second book in the series. One thing I didn't like about the book was some of the language. Another was how some parts are just like the real world when certain groups of kids fight. This book is appropriate for people 12 and older. I would recommend it to people who are interested in fictional stories about vampires.

The Girls Death Left Behind

The title is The Girls Death Left Behind and the author is Lurlene Mc Daniel. The topic of the book is about this girl and her whole family died ,then she had to live with her aunt and uncle. I chose this book because it was recommended by a teacher.

Beth wanted her family back but they were dead. She had to live with her aunt, uncle, and cousin. It was very hard for her because she had to start a new school. She eventually got used to everything .

One thing i liked about the book was that it was a love book. Another thing is i love the author of the book. One thing I didn't like was it made me cry and the other thing was that it sometimes wouldn't make sence to me. I thing this book would be good for 11 through 15. I would recommend this to a friend.I also think that girls would like this book a lot because it' a love story.

Rules by Cynthia Lord

No David, you can't put rubber ducks in the fish bowl. That is one of the many problems that Catherine has to explain to her brother David. It's not exactly David's fault. It's a birth defect, but Catherine is getting sick of telling her brother what to do. But then Jason comes along. But David has to follow the RULES.

12 year old Catherine Collins has a complicated life. An autistic brother, David who is 8 years old, and is totally embarrassed by both him, and her paraplegic friend Jason. She makes a book of rules for David to follow, but there always seems to be something he does that makes it onto the Rule Book. Will Catherine ever introduce Jason to her friends? Will David ever follow the rules?

I chose this book because it had vibrant colors. I liked the book, but got annoyed with how naggy Catherine was. I just wanted to punch her in the nose. I'd give this book 2/5. But I liked how Catherine ended up not being ashamed. :p

Twilight

The book I read is called "Twilight". The author of this book is Stephenie Meyers. This book is mainly about how a girl named Bella meets a vampire named Edward. I chose this book because my friends have read it and it seemed interesting.

"Twilight" is about how a girl named Bella moves to Forks to live with her dad. When she went to school she saw a boy named Edward Cullen. She starts to like him. After spending a lot of time with him she starts to get suspicious. He was acting weird around her. Bella wanted to know why he was acting weird, but he wouldn't tell her. So, she did a lot of research and found out that Edward Cullen was a vampire. There is also another boy named Jacob. He likes Bella, but Bella likes Edward. After a while Bella and Edward start dating. A lot of adventures happen in this book, but you will have to read it to figure out what they are.

Two things I liked about this book are how there are many adventures, and also how it was very descriptive and I was able to picture in my mind what was happening in the book. Two things I didn't like about the book are how it was so long, and how you have to make sure you understand everything because you might read something later in the book and if you didn't understand part of the book before you might not understand another part of the book. I think this book is age appropriate for anyone in 6th grade and up because it is very long and there are some big words. I would recommend this book to my friends and anyone who likes Twilight. If I had to rate this book I would give it 4 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Boned written by Alice Sebold . It is a very heart breaking story . There is love , action and lots and lots of suspense . The book is very different from the movie in so many ways and the moovie and the book do not end the same , the book ends way better .

The main charactor in the story is Susie Salmon . She was only fourteen when she was killed . Susie was myrtered by someone that she knew from her very own neighborhood. She was killed out in a corn field with nobody around to help he or even hear her . Nobody could find her except for the arm that he left in the dirt .

I loved that this book was filled up with suspense and I love how that Susie watches everybody that she cares about from her heaven . In some parts of the book it can get very boring . DO NOT READ THE FIRST CHAPTER I AM WARNING YOU , YOU WILL BE FREAKED OUT . I recommend this book for people 11 and up .

The Best and The Hardest Thing by Pat Brisson

Imagine being a poet. A saintly, brilliant fifteen year old girl trying to change her reputation. Imagine being 15 and pregnant with a guy who's in jail. On top of all that having your one-legged, only best friend move away. That's exactly how it is for Molly Biden.

Molly didn't mean to get pregnant. She just wanted mysterious Gray Dillon to see her as something more than what others saw her as, a goody-goody, so she gets tighter clothing, darker makeup and her hair cut and styled. A good-girl gone bad, Molly struggles to be Grady's girl. But when she does, she gets pregnant. Then Grady gets arrested for illegal weaponry. Sadly, Molly is stuck with her grandma, with her crippled best friend somewhere else, dating someone, having a life unlike Molly's. In the mean time, Molly is trying to concentrate on Poetry Club, and school studies, and trying to ignore all the things the girls at school are calling her.

The book was entertaining. But to my suprise, it was written in poem form. That didn't ruin the book, though. I would reccomend this to people who don't want to get pregnant. I'd rate this 5/5. I chose this book because...well i was at Lift Bridge book store, and the cover looked intresting. But really, read this book.

Dork Diaries 2

The other book I read was Dork Diaries A-Tale-from-A-Not-So-Popular Party Girl by Rachel Russell. this book is a great book. It's funny, sad, and its awesome. READ THE BOOK!

The story is about a girl named Nikki Maxwell. Nikki, and her friends are really happy because the schools Halloween dance is coming up. Nikki's plans to ask her crush Brandon to the dance are ruined by Mackenzie Hollister. So Nikki and her friends sign up for the dance clean up crew, EWW. Nikki is asked to paint faces for her sister's ballet class's hollween party by Mackenzie's mom. In the end Nikki goes to the dance with Brandon. The dance went great before Mackenzie ruined it. I can't tell you how she ruined it.

You should really read this book after you read the first book though. READ IT OR DIE!!!!!! PLEASE READ THIS BOOK PLEASE!!!!!! This book is good for people who can read and up. READ THIS BOOK NOW!!!!!!!!!

the last song

the last song Nicolas Sparks
anyone and everyone can read this book.its very easy and its a great book.

Ronnie(main character) has issues with her family member because of past that she was lied to about.Ronnie wanted to stay home in new york in the for the summer, but she couldn't because someone was hurt. while Ronnie was at her dads she met new people, fell in love and cried a few times. so Ronnie learned to forgive and move on in the summer.

two good parts of the book, one is Ronnie saves baby turtles.the second is that she forgives her true love. two parts i didn't like was when Ronnie's friend was on fire. the second one i didn't like was when Marcus tried to start multiple fights.i think people that aren't afraid to explore would like this book. i also think an animal lover and someone who has experienced someone close dieing would be a good person to read this book.i think this because this book would be close to them.

The Cry of the Icemark

this book The Cry Of The Icemark is about a nonfiction land in an imaginary land. when a dangerous enemy threatens to destroy the peace that they worked to establish. so the hero travels to distant lands to find allies. they go to war with the strongest nation in their area.the main character Esra fights for her life. I like this book because it had suspense and a lot of action. Another reason is that the author Stuart hill is awesome is that hes written other book in this series that are just as cool as the other ones in this series.I would recommend this book to people who like magical and mystifying boos.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

The book I read is called "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". The author of this book is Ann Brashares. This book is mainly about how four best friends(Lena, Tibby, Bridget, and Carmen) were going to be apart for a whole summer, so they decided to send a pair of pants to each other throughout the summer, and they wrote each other letters throughout the summer. I chose this book because I got it for my birthday and I haven't saw the movies yet so I thought it would be an interesting book to read.

"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" is about four best friends. The were going to be apart for a whole summer. They wanted to stay together but they all had to go different places. So, they found a pair of pants that fit all of them and they sent them to each other throughout the summer, and they wrote each other letters. They each had to do something exciting or something exciting had to happen when they were wearing the pants. After the summer ended, they would pack up the pants and wait until next summer to start their adventures in the "magic" pants.

Two things I liked about the book are how some people might be able to relate to the book, and also I liked all the exciting events and adventures. Two things I didn't like about the book are how the point of view changed to each of the girls throughout the book,so you had to make sure you knew who was talking in the book. I also didn't like how I couldn't understand parts of the book, but overall I understood it. I think this book is age appropriate for many people. I think this book is more age appropriate for kids in 5th grade and up because they need to understand the point of view, and they need to understand some of the bigger words. I would recommend this book to my friends, and to people who like exciting events and adventures. If I had to rate this book I would give is 4 stars!!!!!!!!!!

The Boyfriend by R.L Stine

Dex, was alive? But he fell, off a cliff! He can't be alive! There is no way he survived the fall! But did he really die?
The boyfriend is this story about Joanna, this snotty chick, who is dating poor Dex. She is cheating on him with rich Shep. Her ex-bff Mary,is jealous and astonished by Joanna's brattiness. Dex, his friend Pete and Joanna go on to this cliff, right? While they are there Dex ends up falling off and dying. Joanna runs away, hops in her car and gets into a car accident. Pete tells Joanna that Dex died, so Joanna will no longer feel bad about breaking up with Dex, til he comes back for revenge!
I liked The Boyfriend, but it's by RL Stine, and for some reason, i hate him. But I'd rate it 2/5. I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone i know. I really do not like the author. The plot, was ok, ut the way it was written made the book dull and boring. I chose this book because the cover was cute.

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

I'm going to die. That's what Lia knows. She's 17 years old, and weighs 73 pounds. All she wants is to weigh 0 pounds. All the bones in her body are popping out from her skin, and the bones making her feel fat.

So extreme that Cassie dies, so extreme that Lia weights 82 pounds. Then Lia soon starts feeling guilty for Cassie's death. She starts cutting herself, starving herself. Really killing herself. But her family wants to help. Will they save her before it's too late for her too?

Wintergirls is a brilliantly written novel about anorexia. I'd reccomend this to every girl that i know. I'd rate it 4/5. The book had wonderfully illistarted details. You felt like you were Lia, trying to both be skinny an surviving. The book just plain out rocks. I chose this book because my friend, Heather read this book. She said it was kinda funny, yea it wasn't at all. ;)

Fat Vampire by Adam Rex

You can't lose weight on an all blood diet. Doug is trying to stay out of the sunlight, trying not to kill his best friend Jay, and trying to lose weight. He really doesn't like the whole 'situation'. The situation is.... he's an overweight vampie.

Not from a panda, not from a party full of drunk girls, and not even a blood-mobile. But Doug finds himself spiraling out of control with the whole 'vampire' thing. He might lose his bff Jay to a pair of wings and a set of fangs.....

I really enjoyed the book 'Fat Vampire' it was upbeat and an easy read. Anyone would be happy with this book. :) i'd rate it 5/5. I was pretty irratated at the end though, you don't know what happens at the end at all. That was sooooo annoying. But i chose this because the title sounded amazinn.

Don't Die My Love by Lurlene McDaniel

Luke and Julie forever, 'til death do us part. Julie really does't want Luke to die. Neither does her father, his coach. No one wants Luke to die.... But things don't always go your way. Thats how life is, so unfair.

He and Julie then go to see Luke's uncle Steve in California, where both Steve and his girlfriend get married and Luke gives Julie a promise ring for marriage. :) Luke then dies, and Julie is destroyed. She loses weight, stops talking to friends, and dies emotionally. Will she carry on?

I kinda liked the book. Some parts were ehh, but the rest was good. I'd reccomend this to slower readers, football fans, and romance fans. I'd rate it 4/5. I chose this book because i love Lurlene McDaniel's book, Prey.

Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts

That's Where the Heart Is. Don't you feel it going BUMP BUMP BUMP? Novalee asks. I don't feel anything! replies Willy Jack. Willy Jack is mean, and ruthless. But Novalee loves him.... Right?
Novalee Nation has bad luck with the number 7. She's 7 months pregnant, 37 pounds overweight, her mother left her when she was 7 and has only $7.77 in her pocket, on her way to California with her boyfriend, Willy Jack.

There, she meets Forney Hull, the librarian's brother, Sister Husband, a spunky old woman who takes her in as her own, Moses Whitecotton, a smart african-american photographer whom inspires her, and Benny Goodluck, a skinny native-american tree serviceman's son. Novalee ends up staying in Oklahoma while Willy Jack makes out with some girl without front teeth, gets put in jail, and lands a record deal. Does Novalee and her daughter Americus go back to Willy Jack?
I really liked this book. The book was interesting and funny. I would reccomend this to anyone, except for people who aren't funny. I'd rate it 5/5. I chose this book because, Nikki told me that it as disturbing so i had to read it. And well Walmart is in it and Walmart is a very popular store. Then when you hear about someone giving birth in Walmart... You have to read it.

But Savannah sends the last and final letter. What does it say? Do John and Savannah rekindle their undying love?

I liked parts of the book. There really wasn't a part when you were all nervous and jittery, except when John gets the last letter. I liked the plot all together. i give it a 2/5. I don't reccomend it, except to people who like love stories that aren't exciting. I chose this book because i saw the movie and Channing Tatum is pretty hot!

Every Soul a Star

I read the book Every Star a Soul by Wendy Mass. The book brings a star to every characters head by the end of the book. What inspired me to read this book was title how the fact that every ones soul brings a star to there mind.

Bree, Jack, and Ally are three different people that all live in all different places and have know clue who each other are until they all end up at the same place. Ally is the kind of person who loves astronomy and has never had a real friend because she has spent most of her life at the Moon Shadow Campground (her families campground). Bree who spends most of her time looking at herself in the mirror and whoring about her clothes now has no choice but to move to her family to the Moon Shadow Campground. Jack who spends most of his time up in his tree fort and would rather spend her time reading books and drawing aliens is now forced to go on a trip with his science teacher to make up the work he has missed at the Moon Shadow Campground.

There were many things that i liked about this book and many things i didn't like. Some things I didn't like was that how the characters weren't willing to move froward in life. Another thing I didn't like how the book was so predictable. Some things I liked was that it was very detailed. Another thing i liked was that how all the characters were brave and daring.

The Lovely Bones

Have you heard about the Salmon girl? Everyone else has. She's dead, and everyone thinks it's beacause of you. That's all everyone will talk about for a few months... But when will her father give it a rest, and give up?

The mesmerizing tale of the fourteen year old rape/murder victim, The Lovely Bones tells you of Susie Salmon's family, (which includes, Buckly her brother, Lindsey her sister, and her parents, Jack and Abgail Salmon) Susie's friends, struggling with Susie's death. Beyond the shallow Earth is Susie, watching from the Inbetween. Susie soons finds out that she is not the only victim.
I LOVED this book with the deep intensity of a thousand suns! The book was everything i would ever like to read! I would rate this 5/5! I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes to take their time, and likes to drown in beautiful words. I chose this book because i thouht the killer was named Herbert, but he wasn't. I wasn't dissapointed though.

The Lovely Bones

I have red the book The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. The title of this book helps you summarize the ending of this book. What inspired me to read this book was the movie. I really wanted to see the movie so i decided to read the book.

Fourteen year old, Susie Salmon had lived the first 14 years of her life wonderfully. Sadly Susie disappeared one cold night in a cornfield. Her sister Lindsey, her brother Buckly, her mom Abigail, and her dad Jack were left home one night wondering were there daughter Susie had gone. Lindsey had had a suspicion of there neighbor. Susie solves her problems up in heaven, and realizes that the worst things happen to the best. Len Fenerman, the detective of this case and Susie's dad Jack wait to see who Susie's murderer is.

There were many things I liked about this book but there were also things I didn't like. One thing I didn't like was that they told you who Susie's murderer was right when it happened. Another thing I didn't like was that predictable it was. One thing I liked was that it was long and detailed. Another thing I liked was that I always had a mental picture of what is happening in the book. I would recomend this book to any one from any one 12 and up.

The Secret Society of the Pink Crystal Ball

I read the book, The Secret Society of the Pink Crystal Ball by Risa Green. It's a compelling, humorous journey through Aunt Kiki's death and the gift her death brings. (It's not sad at all). Erin, Sam, and Lindsay are trying to get through high school. But Lindsay is trying to kill Meghan, the girl who is evil. Sam is trying to get Aiden. Erin is trying.... to learn how to use this ball, to get everything she ever wanted....

Erin Channing is a plain, ordinary girl, annoyed with herself. Then, when her hippie and favorite aunt dies, Erin is left a pink, plastic 'magic' ball. She begins to wonder about that dumb little 'gift' her aunt had given to her. Erin is then occupied by the trip to Paris her art class, which she has to do a project on paintings for an assignment, which she is assigned by her crush, Jesse. Throught the story, Erin has to ask 8 questions, then the magic in the ball is gone. Then she must give the ball to someone else.

My thought on the book was it was an ok book. I chose the book because I liked the cover. I would rate this book 3 stars out of 5. I would reccomend this to people who think outside the box. Because this book is very imaginative... But its pretty good.

A Child Called "It"

This book is a sad stroy about one boys struggle to survive. This book is called "A Child Called It".The author is David J. Pelzer. There are also two more books.

David has three brothers named Kevin,Stan,Ron,Richard,a mom,and a dad.He had to fight very hard for his live. There are many times were he could of died. There are two more books called "The Lost Boy" and "The Man Called Dave".

I liked how David kept fighting for his live no matter what.I also liked how David had faith.I didnt like how his mother put him threw harsh and deadly games.David deserved a much better life.I recommend this for people about 10 and up.I would only recommend this if you can take cruel stories.

1-800-Where-R-You?-When Lightning Strikes

When Lightning Strikes was the book that I read as one of my independent reading books. This book is written by Meg Cabot. In this book Jessica Mastarini, a girl whose plays the flute in Orchestra and gets detention because of fights on a daily basis, gets struck by lightning giving her the ability to find lost people. I choose this book because sister and mother told me to and I had just finished the Maximum Ride series and honestly, I had nothing to read.

In this book, Jess and her friend Ruth are walking home from school when it starts to rain. So they do something oyu should never do in a thunderstorm, they decided to hide under metal bleachers. That's when Jess gets the ability to find people, only she doesn't know it yet. After a few days, she has made some calls to an organization called 1-800-Where-R-You and told them where to find some missing children. After that the government gets involed and takes her to a military base that is supossed to be shut down. Jess then finds out that one of the boys that she rescued was in the care of his abusive dad while his mom is in jail for kidnapping him away when he was 6. She decides that it is all her fault and she is goin g to fix it. Jess wanted to help kids become found but one particular rescue backfires so she is determined to help fix it. You will have to read it yourself to find out more.

Two things that I liked about this book was that once you got into the book, it was hard to put it down. Another thing that I liked was that it was that all except for being struck by lightning and getting into trouble with the feds, the characters wwnt through problems with friends, school and family isuses like most of us do so it's pretty easy to relate to them. Two things that I didn't like was that the begining was slow so it took a while to get into the book. Another thing that I wasn't so fond of was that descrimination between upper townsmen and rural people int he same town. Tjis is appropriate for teens. I would reccomend it to a fiend because it is very good once you get into it.

Something, Maybe

The book I read was entitled "Something, Maybe" by Elizabeth Scott and it tells the story about a 16 year old girl who tries to balance her life with her abnormal parents and her so-called "love life." As the story progresses, she sorts out her feelings for everyone in her life. There are a couple reasons I chose this book. One reason would be that this really relates to most teenagers of the 21st century. Teenage love stories are also something that I enjoy reading, as long as it's not something too cheesy.

Hannah James, a 16 year old girl from the fictional town of Slaterville, believes that her life is crazy enough with her mother and her "interesting" job and her so-called father being a millionare with his own Internet show of him surrounded by pretty girls in his own castle in New York. Ever since she and her mother moved to Slaterville, Hannah's mother, Candy Madison, is known for her body thanks to her live webcam website. At the same time, she's certain that her crush, the most perfect boy in the whole school named Josh, is meant for her. At the same time, her father, Jackson James, wants to reconnect with her by sending her a two train tickets to New York. She tries to decide whether to believe he actually wants to spend time with her, or if he's doing it to gain more success for his show. As she decides to go to New York, Hannah wonders why she can't stop thinking of her co-worker Finn, and she really decides if Josh is really her soul mate.

One of the things I liked about this book is that it's told in a point of view of a normal, everyday teenager. Hannah's voice in the book is a mixure of literal elements while at the same time, she brings her own teenage voice. Another thing I liked about this book is that it's one of those teenage love stories where it doesn't just focus on the boy and girl, but also focuses on the girl's life and how she's struggling with how embarrassing she thinks her parents are and everyone in school ridiculing her for it. I definitely enjoyed reading this book! I recommend it to any teenager who just enjoys reading. Although, it has suggestive language or details that might make some people a little uncomfortable reading, so if you are one of those people, I suggest you do not read this book. Other than the language and the content, it was definitely an easy read and I recommend the book or author to anyone who loves to read!

Maximum Ride:Fang

The name of the book that I recently read is called Maximum Ride:Fang. It is the last book in the series so far. Fang is written by James Patterson. In this book, Max and the flock have found her mother and she is yet again trying to figure out how to save the world when she is told by Angel(Gazzy's sister and she can see the future) that Fang will be the first of all of them to die and it will be soon. I choose this book since the first 5 books were all so good and I had to continue reading the series.
Once Angel tells Max that Fang will die soon, she refuses to belive her even though she is probably right. She doesn't know what to think, life with out Fang, her #1 fighter, co-leader of the flock and maybe even her soulmate,so she just assures everyone that this will not happen. When she tries desperately to protect Fang, which eventually gets the flock broken again. Then in the middle of it all, they meet a strange boy who they hyave never seen before and is just like them and insistes that the only reason that he exsits is to be Max's perfect other half. Angel then teams up with an evil scientist and Fang goes to investigate which ends up to be a bad decision. Max wanted to keep the flock like her own family but Dylan(her perfect other half) ruins it so they do thier best to ignore him. All this and more happens while the apocolpyse is coming.
Two things I liked about this book were that it has even more action, romance and drama more than the previous books. I also liked that it keeps you hanging so that you'll have to wait for the 7th book , Angel, to come out in February of 2011. Two things that I didn't like were that it goes back and forth between perspectives so you have to make sure that you know who is speaking and whose perspective it is. Another thing that I didn't like was the way that it ended because a heart is left broken so I'll have to wait until February to find out what happens to it. I LOVED this booka dn would reccomened it to anyone who is taking the time to read this.(but first I would read the rest of the series so you know what is going on) These are all AMAZING books and once you start, you won't be able to put them down.

Back round info: Iggy is 14, Fang is 14, Max is 14(and a girl!!!!), The Gasman(Gazzy) is 8,Nudge is 12 and Angel is 6.

The Secret Circle:The Initiation And The Captive Part 1

The exciting book I read was titled, The Secret Circle: The Initiation And The Captive Part 1 by L. J. Smith. The book is a fiction story about a girl that is forced to move from sunny California to New England.I picked this book because I like the author L. J. Smith, she is a very good writer. She also has written other books I have read, like The Vampire Diaries and more.

Cassie is a girl who loved her friends where she lived in Sunny California. Then one day Cassie had to move to New England, she had no friends. There was a group of teens who seem to rule her school. She was then initiated into the coven of witches that's controlled New Salim for hundreds of years, she's was drawn into The Secret Circle. When she falls for the mysterious Adam, she must choose whether to resist temptation or risk dark forces to get what she wants.

This is a excellent book to read. There is many interesting tales in the book. However there are some boring parts to book as well. Overall I would recommend this book to others.

The Last Song

I read the book The Last Song by Nicolas sparks. This book is a romance that has amny ups and downs to it. i chose this book beacuse I saw the movie and I loved it! But since the movie and books are usually alot different, I wanted to check it out.

The main character in this book is Ronnie. She is a sort of girl that doesnt like to deal with anything that doesnt have to do with herself. Ronnie's father wanted her and her brother to come visit him, but Ronnie didnt want to since he had left her for three years. So her mom made her go anyways. The story has you sitting on the edge of your seat when the boy is introduced. Will Blankee is the rich boy in town. The way they meet is on the beach. By the end of the day the two of the teens went out for a walk on the beach. Will works at an aquarium as a volunteer, and at his fathers Auto Shop. The story is turned around when Blaze, Ronnies first friend here, puts stolen items in Ronnies bad for a reason that she is so selfish about. Blaze has a boyfriend that like Ronnie. But Marcus doesnt know what to do with Blaze. He is bacicly just stalking Ronnie. Will invites Ronnie to her sisters wedding, and him and Marcus get in a fight. Will's mother dilikes Ronnie and thinks she is low class. Ronnie meets Will's EX girlfriend, and she tells her lies that try to make them brake up. Will's friend Scott is all about himself. He is a champion volleyball player, but he has a guilty concious. You see he burned down a church and blamed it on Ronnie's father, Scott. So now scott has to put together a new window for the church. Jonah, Ronnie's little brother, helps him throughout the summer. Ronnie and Will have a turtles nest that they keeps an eye on, and the day they hatch, Scott is rushed to the hospital. he has stomach cancer and it has spread to his pancris and lungs. They tell him he has less than a year to live. When Jonah leaves to go home with his mom, Ronnie refuses to leave her dying father. A few weeks after the window he created is put in, he passes away.

I loved this book. I would recomend this to girls. But some guys might like this book also. Two things I liked about this book is the way the author discribed the character. I could acctually image the person in my head. Alsos it had a good story line to it. Two things i didnt like about the book is, that her father passes away. I dislike sad stories. Also I did not like the fact that Ronnie was blamed for anything, I guess its just part of the book. I would recomend this book to a freind. On a scale from 1-10 i would give it a 9.

Prey by Lurlene McDaniel

I read the book, Prey by Lurlene McDaniel. The book is a fiction story about the love affair between, Lori Settles, the beautiful history teacher, and Ryan Piccoli. The affair both makes and breaks bonds for Ryan.... But will he care?

It all began the first day of school, at McAllister High, Ryan and his close friend since seventh grade, Honey Flower, begin high school, again as usual. Honey, is in love with Ryan, but he's stupid and doesn't see that.
Anyways, Ryan goes to history class, expecting nothing.... THEN BAMM!!!!!!! He is astonished at how sexy his teacher is. Ryan and his teacher 'Lori' have meetings and have sex, secretly, without anybody knowing until nosey little Honey tries digging up the truth.
Will Ryan and Lori get caught?! Will Lori get pregnant?! THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU READ THIS BOOK!

I thought this book was amazinn. Personally, the book was entertaining, shocking, and funny. The point of view switches from Ryan to Lori to Honey.... It fit my reading skills perfectly. I rate this 5 stars. I would reccomend this to anybody who loves twists and turns.

the Waters and the Wild

I read a book called "the Waters and the Wild" by Francesca Lia Block. The title of this book contributes to a lot of the books meaning. What inspired me to read this book was the book title. The book title gave me and inspiring mental picture to what the book was going to be about.

This book is mainly about a thirteen year old girl named Bee who doesn't know what is going on in her life. Bee woke up one day and saw a person that said to her "you are me". So later that day bee went to someone at lunch named Haze and asked him what she had seen. Haze had told her it was a Doppelganger. Later in the year she was walking to school and she heard a girl named Sarah singing under a willow tree. Haze, Sarah , and Bee were doing some research about the doppelganger and found out what had happened to bee's life at birth. Bee had wondered how she got so sick all of a sudden.

There were many things i liked about this book, but there things i also some things i didn't like. One thing i didn't like was how when you first started reading the book it gets really confusing and you don't know whats happening. Another thing i didn't like was how it was such a short book. Some things i did like was that how detailed the writing was. Another thing i liked was that every time you read it you always left a mental picture your head about what is happening. I would recommend this to anybody i know, and from ages 10 and up should have a great time reading this book.

Maximum ride:Max

My book was titled Maximum Ride:Max.It is the 5th book in the series. The author is James Patterson. Maximum Ride:Max is about a a 14 year old girl who is 98% human and 2% avain(bird) so she and 5 others have wings. She has to find her mother who was kidnapped. I choose this book because my cousin recommended it to me and it has non-stop action and a little romance.
In Max, a 14 year old girl named Maximum Ride, and her 5 friends who are just like family to her, Iggy,Fang,Nudge,Angel and Gazzy, have to find Max's mom who has been kidnapped by a Japenese Coorporation owner. They gather clues and are led to somewhere unexpected, the bottom of the ocean. Meanwhile, fish and other sea creatures are dieing in large sums for no reason and the have to figure out why along with some scientist friends that they met in the 4th book. Max must figure all this out while taking care of her family at the same time. Max wanted to spend time with her mother and half sister but she was kidnapped so Max and the rest of the flock try to find her.
Two things I liked about this book is that there is the perfect amount of action and romance so anyone would like it. Another thing I liked about this book was that it had so much detail packed into it and it gave me vivid imagery in my mind. Two things that i didn't like was that it went back and forth between Max's moms' point of view and Max's point of view. Another thing I didn't like was that it had really short chapters so it felt like I had to read more to get more of the book out. I think that any age could read this book. There are occassionally words that I didn't know but it is still a pretty easy read and i finished it within 2 days. I would most definately reccomend this to a friend. I think since it has action and romance that both boys and girls could read these books.

(incase you do want to read the books the series goes like this, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, School's out forever, Saving the world and other extrieme sports, the final warning and the 6th book is titled Fang.)

Pish Posh

The book that I chose is called Pish Posh, written by Ellen Potter. I chose this book because I thought that the cover looked interesting and it was a book that I had on my shelf. This book is mainly about an eleven year old spoiled brat named Clara, whos parents own a high class restaurant in New York City.
The main character, Clara Frankofile, lives in New York city with her parents. At only eleven years of age, she lives in her own apartment, gets everything she wants, and keeps the nobodies out of Pish Posh. Pish Posh is the restaurant that her parents own. To keep this restaurant unique, Clara has to do one thing. She has to only let famous and well known sombodies eat there. Clara has a keen eye for spotting nobodies. All she wants is to pick out the nobodies and keep the restaurant in tip top shape. However, one day a man that she pronounces a nobody tells her that there is something fishy going on in the restaurant that she doesn't know about. This is like a smack in the face to her because she thinks she knows everything about the restaurant. So, Clara goes and tries to find what that crazy man is talking about.
I liked in the book, towards the middle and end, how it became like a mystery. Also, I liked how well the author explained everything. I could picture everything perfectly. I didn't like how it took a while for the book to get going. It started out pretty slow. I also didn't like how the ending seemed like it was missing something. I think that this is a good book for girls ages ten to fourteen. :)

Found

Found: By Margaret Peterson Haddix was the book I chose to read for my Independent reading book. It is a mystery book. I thought this book was good.

Jonah and his family have a meeting with the F.B.I. The F.B.I can not tell them much. Kathrine, Jonah's ,takes pictures of the documents on the desk. When they got home they started researching the picture. You will have to read the book to find out what happens next!

I thought this book was really good. If I had to rate this I would give it 5 out of 5. This is one of the books in the Missing series. I will look forward to reading the other books

Bluford High-secrets in the shadows

Secrets in the Shadows by Anne Schraff is mindblowing and the details are eyewatering! A story about love, money, and murder!

Young Roylin Bailey walks into class only to find a new girl named Kori Archer who had satin skin, huge dark eyes shadowed by her eyelashes.Roylin's eyes popped! She was to be the prettiest girl in the world you know the models on magazines too good for Bluford High.Roylin and Kori hit it off at lunch and continued to get closer and closer to each other. But Kori's birthday is coming up and Roylin can't afford the 300$ necklace. But he remembers his good friend Mr.Miller and how rich he was Mr.Miller was like the father an (unabusive father)Roylin never had. He found Mr.Miller sleeping and he also found his stuffed wallet so...He decided to take 250 thinking he wouldn't notice. Then ran to the mall to buy the Golden ruby necklace. Unaware of the landlord Mr.Tuttle was watching his every move! But Tuttle lied when he said Mr.Miller woke up he had had a heart attack when he found out there was missing money. He was cruel and heartless. Then he was blackmailing Roylin by making him clean around the apartment building.

Weeks after Roylin gave Kory the necklace and she told him she'll love her forever. She then goes and flirts with a jock and studies with him on a history paper. Day after day she treats Roylin more and more like dirt. But as they grow apart he and his friend Cooper become closer and closer, like brothers! But know Roylin told Coop everything and he has a different perspective. Cooper say Mr.Tuttle beat Mr.Miller to death. But they need the body to see if he did kill him or not.Lucky for them Mr.Tuttle goes to the racetrack every Sunday and is gone the whole day. Roylin is reluctant but sticks with the plan. They dig up the body and find nothing but sand bags, confused and scared Roylin and cooper got a snack and waited for Tuttle to arrive. As soon as he did Cooper hovered over him like a rabid bunny and a carrot. Tuttle confessed that Mr.Miller was alive and unharmed in a boring nursing home. Tuttle said he was trying to teach Roylin a lesson.

Roylin, and Coop were furious with the small old man. So they taught him a lesson by scaring him bad the only tooth he had came out from him shaking to much! Roylin now visits and takes Mr.Miller out for food and fun. He really hates it their he says it so much more that he talks his daughter not visiting. Roylin felt like a better person knowing Mr.Miller was okay it was like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders. He doesn't pick on kids so he could feel big he apologized and forgave everyone. He even gets people to help out at the nursing home, he helps at home too! Fixes the table, washers dishes doesn't fight with his sister anymore. Roylin feels like a changed man, like he has a purpose to be on earth. He loves and respects himself so much he turned down Kori Archer!

This book was brilliant and perfect in so many ways. It's small but it's a MUST! So detailed and it just paints a vivid picture better than HD! It's wonderful like I said small but a blast of some thriller some romance and a little action along the way. If you get ENJOY!!!!! :-)

The Last Lecture

Randy Pausch a man with only months to live gives this educating lecture about his life. This book will make you laugh, cry, and think about how good this story is. The best part it's a quick read you'll be done in a few days. Randy Pausch did die of pancreatic cancer in 2006.
