Soul Eater 3

The Title of this book is Soul Eater 3. It is written by Atsushi Ohkubo. This book is a graphic novel. I picked this book because it was the next one in the series.

In this  book the author is still introducing  characters. Death the kid, is the grim reapers son, and has the grim reaper powers just like his dad. His dad, Lord Death, is in charge of everything. Death the kid has got everything, the skills, the smarts, and talent. But the thing that messes him up every single  time, is symmetry. But his two weapons, Liz and Patty  help him with that. Lord Death gives Kid an assignment that only he can do, going to a temple to look for something specific. But the temple is not symmetrical. What will happen to Kid Patty and Liz when they get into a battle and Kid wont fight back?

One thing i liked about this book, was Kids surprising weakness. One thing i didn't like about this book, is that it didn't have any characters from the other books. I would recommend this book to any one 10 and up because its a little confusing at first. I would also recommend this book to anyone who like combat, and unexpected turns of events.

Beyoncers book II: Seeds of Rebelion

Jason, who finds his way home, gets swallowed by a hippo (again) leading back to Lyrian and finds there was a torivor following him. When he is tricked by giants to go to their village and nearly got himself eaten. Eventually, the Torivor apears, frightens the giants, and starts following Jason.
While being followed, Jason had some . . . akward dreams. As it turns out, the torivor caused the dreams and eventually communicated through them. When he finally found out, he crossed a river to rid himself of it.
Jason comes across a retired mercenary and half-giant (whos name escapes me) and eventually reunites with Rachel.

The Vow

The book I read was The Vow by Kim and Krickitt Carpenter with Dana Wilkerson. This book is about love and how marriages can last through anything or even more than once. I chose to read this book because I saw the movie and thought it was good,so I wanted to see if the book was as good.

Krickitt and Kim starting just as strangers and then became friends, and eventaully ended up falling in love with eachother. Both of them were very religious and god was a big part of their marriage. The couple was on the way to Krickitt's parents house when they had gotten into and accident. Krickitt and very serious injuries, so did Kim,but not as bad as Krickitt. Kim went to the hospital were Krickitt was and realized his wife may die. Krickitt ended up having to go threw threapy. She had short term memory less and could not remember Kim or their marriage. Kim stuck by Krickitt's side the whole time and did not lose any faith what so ever in her. Kim was asking God to help him and God did help him. They ended up being together through this terrible time and will always have a strong marriage because God had helped them.

I liked that this book was so open and anyone could understand this book. It also should what a good marriage is and that anyone can last through anything if they are determined and believe. I would recommend this book to a friend. I think that this is a good book for someone who likes a love story.

The Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins

The book I read was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is about a girl named Katniss competing in the annual Hunger Games. I chose this book because I have heard so many good things about it.
Prim Katniss' younger sister is picked to go in the Hunger Games and Kattniss jumped out of the crowd of people to volunteer for her sister. So Katniss is now in the Hunger Games with another boy from district 12 named Peeta Mellark.
Two things I liked was how the author writes and how the book was structured. Two things I didn't like was the ending and how slow it is in the beginning. This book is appropiate for teenagers. I would reccomend it to a friend. Hunger Games fans would like this book.

The Tiger's Quest

The book I read was the Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck. The Tiger's Quest is the second book in the Tiger Saga. The book's genre is young adult fantasy. I chose this book because I really liked the first book and wanted to see how the story continued on.

Kelsey was back home in Oregon trying to continue her life without Ren. He came back at Christmas time and they realized that Lokesh was trying to get to Kelsey. In the process of running from Lokesh, Ren sacrificed himself for Kelsey and was taken by Lokesh instead. In order to free Ren and continue breaking the curse, Kelsey had to work with Ren's brother Kishan. Kishan and Kelsey worked together to break another piece of the curse to give them more time to find Ren and break him free. In the process, she started to fall in love with Kishan too.

Two things I liked about this book in the saga is the romance and how Kelsey is very intelligent. Kelsey uses her mind in different ways to solve problems. Two things I didn't like about this book are how Kelsey started to fall for Kishan and when they got Ren back he didn't remember his love for Kelsey. This book is appropriate for young adults and adults, because of the romance and the kissing throughout the book. Yes, I would recommend this book to a friend, because it follows the first book and really sucks you into the story and you don't want to put it down. I would recommend it to people who like romance and adventure.

The Tiger's Curse

The book I read was the Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck. The book would fall into the young adult fantasy genre. I choose this book because my mom had read it and really liked it. She thought I would like it, because it has romance throughout the book between the two main characters Ren and Kelsey.

In the book, Kelsey Hayes wanted to help Ren break the tiger's curse. To do so she had to travel to India, where she only knew one person and didn't speak the language. Once she learned what the curse was she didn't understand why Ren was so sure she could help him break the curse.  She felt she was a nobody from Oregon and was insecure about herself and her strengths. Taking it one step at a time, Ren helped her realize she was stronger than she thought she was. Eventually, after working together and believing in each other they broke part of the curse.

Two things I liked about the book were the romance and Kelsey's character. She is very down to earth and has a good sense of sarcasm. There was only one thing I didn't really like, which was when Ren would say things to Kelsey in Hindi and not always tell you what it meant. This book is appropriate for young adults and adults. I think it is for this age group, because of the romance and the kissing in the book. Yes, I would recommend it to a friend who likes romance and adventure.

The Mist

The book I read was The Mist by Stephen King and the genre of this book is horror. I chose this book because I thought Stephen King would have some interesting books and i was right.
In the small town of Bridgton, Maine David Drayton and his son Billy experience something strange and unusual. There is this mist that comes out of nowhere reducing visibility to nothing. David, Billy and their neighbor go into town for supplies and while they're there the mist rolls in. Some strange things show up and they have to find a way to escape all while fighting for their lives.
Two things I liked about the book was it kept me wondering what would happen next and it was scary. I recommend this book for anyone 13+ or who like horror novels. I would also recommend this to a friend.

Define "Normal"

I have chosen the book Define "Normal" written by Julie Ann Peters. The topic is about not judging what you see in the outside and its about the inside that counts. I didn't really have a choose but it was between either "Stand Tall" or Define "Normal". I choose this book because it looked interesting.
This book is about this girl, Antonia, Counseling this other girl, Jazz, and Jazz is goth and Antonia is a straight A student and Jazz really doesn't care about school. So Antonia wants to try and talk to Jazz but Jazz really doesn't care. And they become like best friends and they do care about each other in the end. Also Antonia wants Jazz to open up to Antonia but Jazz doesn't want to open up so in the end they do open up for each other.
One thing I liked about this book was you have to see what poeple are in the inside before you start questioningabout them. Also I liked how they hated each other in the beginging and then was best friends in the end. The age group that is appropriate for this book is 10 to life time. I would recommend this book to my friends. The people who would want to read this book would be mysteries and a book you don't want to let go because this would be the book for those people.

The Demon King

in this book the princess Raisa is introduced to all the problems of her queendom. she is trying to help when she is kidnapped by Han Alister. He used to be a steetlord, gang leader, who has quit the life and is being blamed for many murders that were not his doing.

The Serpent's Shadow

The title of this book is The Serpent's Shadow, by Rick Riordan.  It is an action packed book of adventure.  I chose this book because Rick Riordan is a good author.

Carter and Sadie Kane are the main characters.  They have to stop the entity of chaos, Apophis, from destroying the entire world.  They have to join forces with the gods to defeat him.  Carter hosts Horus, the god of war, in his body.  Then he leads the gods and magicians into war.

Fire girl

I have read a book called "Fire girl". The author of this book is Tony Abbott. This book as a good theme for children.  I picked this book well I really didn't choose it because I it was a class book but in the end I really liked it.
This book is about a girl named "Jessica" and she has a burnt face and her arms and legs are burned too. She goes into a class room with her appearance and no one will really open up to her because of her appearance. And finally Tom opens up to Jessica and they become friends. Jessica wanted to be friends with everyone into the class room but because of her appearance no one wants to so her only friend really is Tom. And by the end of the book she realizes her friends are everyone because the students now her past.
I liked this book because it tells really everyone its about the inside and not the appearance. Another is it would be cool if everyone would have accepted her at first and not at the end of the book. It is good really for everyone. I would recommend this to a friend. The kind of people I would tell this book is to mysteries.

Soul Eater 2

The author of this book is Atsushi Ohkubo. I picked this book because my friend said it was a good book and i wanted to read it. The title of this book is Soul Eater 2. This is a graphic novel.

In this book, it is introducing characters. In this book, BlackStar, the mister, and  Tubaski, BlackStar's weapon.  They are training to be ninjas. But BlackStar cant get  a hold of being quite.  BlackStars ego is  way to big, and always gets in the way if hes not  the center of attention They haven't gotten any souls, so they are at the bottom of the list of the list at the academy.

The Vow

I Just finished The Vow Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, with Dana Wilkerson. It's based on a true story. I picked this book because a lot of people are reading it and said it was good and inspiring.

Kim and Krickett Carpenter have fallen in love and gotten married. Two months after their marriage they were on their way to visit relatives when they get into a tragic car crash. Kim has minor injuries but Krickett is rushed to the hospital. The crash has made her have a major head injury that most likely causes death. Everyday Kim prayed that god would heal Krickitt so she can get better and live. Krickitt did get better, but doesn't remeber Kim. She doesn't remember they meet fell in love, and got married. Kim is devisteaded and doesn't want to see his life with out Kim. Krickett falls in love with Kim and thinks its the first time she did but is actually the second.

He has three suspects, Darren Vader a bully at school, Tony Bartholemew who claims he's related to the person who won the ring, Celia White a news letter reporter who does not like the "gang" she says and are "evil delinquents especially Griffin". I like the way you have no idea whats going to happen most of the time.

Griffin now has to deal with the people who instantly amuse he's the culprit when something is stolen. Griffin tries to find out who FRAMED him by catching them over a camera. he doesn't find the culprit so he gives up on finding them while he is also in JFK what he calls Jail For Kids. Invasion of the Boy Snatcher

Recently I read a book called Invasion of the Boy Snatchers by Lisi Harrison.  This was by far the best book in this series that I have read.

This book is mainly about a girl named Massie and Claire who run into a huge problem.  Alicias cousin Nina came to town from Spain and is taking over.  She took Massies flat iron and a lot of other things from everyone.  They were at a soccer game and she went into the boys locker room and she found Ninas stuff stashed at the top of Josh’s locker.  Massie was infuriated and was going to do whatever it takes to unmask the evil villan.

In the midst of this, Massie and all of her friends including Nina made a bet.  They made a bet to see who would kiss someone first at the dance.  This dance was special because it was girls choice.  After the soccer game they would be able to chase the boys and  tag the one that they wanted.  Massie wanted Derrington and Claire wanted Cam.  They couldn’t get them though.  At the end of the story they found out why they couldn’t get them.  Nina said if they talked to the girls or went to the dance with them their school would lose the soccer championship.

None got their kiss at the dance…..except for Claire. But it wasn’t Cam she kissed.  It was Josh. That is where the book ends.

Three things I liked about this book was that it was a quick read and it drew me in.  The cover also drew me in.  I didn’t dislike anything about this book.  I would think the age range for this book is 10 to 13.  I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books about drama.

Everest: The Contest

The book I read was Everest: The Contest. The author of this book is Gordon Korman. This book is mainly an adventure and mystery book. I chose this book because after reading the paragraph on the back i decided that it sounded like a good book and started reading it.
Everest: The Contest is the contest to get the youngest climber to climb Mount Everest. Many climbers will be competing to see if they will be chosen. Dominic, Chris'es little brother, has been wanting to get into this for some time. The contest is to spell Everest in the letters found in Everest packages of candy bars and energy drinks. He became lucky and after finding his last letter, v, he was officially going to the training camp, that doesn't mean that he will go on the trip though. During training the camp members are put through an intense training of many different activities and after even after having a lung x-ray would they find out if they were accepted or not. They said that having healthy lungs is a big part of your acceptance. The find out what happens next you need to read the next book in the series.
One thing i liked about this book is that at many times is was suspenseful. Another thing I liked about this book is that they talked about much equipment, etc. One thing i did not like about this book as it was not a very interesting book as i thought when i read the diolauge. Another is that it took forever to read because it was very dull most times after page 30-40! This is a appropriate book for ages 10-up. People that are interested in mountain climbing this book is for you. I would have to say that i would not recommend this book to anyone.

Dairy Queen

I finished a book called "Dairy Queen" by Catherine Gilbert Murdock. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. I chose this book because the book cover looked interesting.
In the book, D.J. Schwenk wanted to play football. The problem was she was a girl. She wanted to play for Red Bend, Wisconsin. So, she tried out and made the team. Also, D.J. fell inlove with this one boy named Brian Nelson. She wanted to help him be better in football and she wanted to be closer to him.Over time, she got closer to him and he got better in football. The agreement was that he helps with farmwork and she trains him. The problem was, Brian found out that she was playing for the football team he competes against, and he got mad! Brian plays for the Hawley team.
Two things that I liked about the book is that it is easy to understand. Also, I liked that this book isnt long. The age group that it is appropriate for is 10+. The reading level it is appropriate for is 5/10. I would recommend it to a friend. The kind of people that would like this book are sports fans.

THE BFG

                                            THE BFG

But just off her hometown lives a town of giants and they eat humans by frying them. So everybody in her neighbor hood was frightened of being snatched in  the night. But one night Sophie woke up to find her self being carried off with a giant. Sophie started screaming and the giant said shhhhh they will here you and eat you.She was confused so the bfg explaind that he was a good giant and was there to save her but she had to keep quiet because they can hear and smell really good. So Sophie called him the bfg which stands for the big friendly giant and the giants new something was up and kept trying to catch him. Then they finally did and made him eat her so he just put her in his mouth and pretended. Sophie and the giant did all they could to stop them from eating people the bfg even fought all of them but to them he was the small giant. But they finally got them to stop in the end. I would recomend this book to people who are in to fables and fake stories with creative minds.

A Child Called "It"

I recently read the book A Child Called "It". The genre of this novel isnonfiction and based on a true story about a child fighting for his life. I chose to read this book because I had heard that it was a great, but very sad read. In this book, David Pelzer struggles to survive against his abusive mother, and brings you there with him through his hardships.

David Pelzer was just a normal little boy who loved his family and school and camping until his whole life turned around. Before he knew it the "good times" were all gone when his mother and father started drinking. At first it was ok, but then they became alcoholics, and David's mother changed into a total different person. She began to beat David when his father was out of the house, and came up with "games" that put him on the verge of death. Now little David had to do all of the house chores while his brothers went outside to play, and he could no longer eat with the family. His mother told him that he was a "bad boy" and tried to brainwash him. David now had to live in the garage on an old army cot, and eventually was stripped of his existance. Now referred to as an "It", he was heartbroken and lonely. Then, David started to be deprived of food for days at a time. Things got so bad that he would have rather died than be living in this "hell house" as he called it. All little David wanted was to be free of his mother and be loved again.

I loved this book, and am so glad that I decided to read it because it made me appreciate what I have. I liked that this book always kept me wanting to read more, and that it made me think constantly. I would recommend this book to anyone so they can see how child abuse negatively affects our world today, and help kids like David all around the world.

Impulsed By Ellen Hopkins

I read a book called Impulse, by Ellen Hopkins. It's a fiction story. My friends recommended it to me and said it was a really good book, and she thought I would enjoy it. This book is about three teenagers trying to kill themselves but fail. There's Vanessa, Conner and Tony, they all have very messed up lives. Vanessa's mom is schizophrenic, Tony's father abandoned him, and Conner’s is a twin that cant be as perfect as his sister. Tony's best friend Phillip died and Tony is now a Pill popper. Conner is just trying to finish everything and pulls the trigger, and missed his heart. Vanessa cuts herself and her brother finds her. They all end up in the same mental hospital together. Conner and Tony falls in love with Vanessa. Vanessa is in love with both of them. Everyone thought that Tony was gay.

I would recommended this book to kids in their teens like ages 13 and up, also I would recommended it to all my friends that want a book to read. I liked this book because it have a lot of action and I got right into the book from the begging, it dragged in some parts but it was a really good book. It is just a long book.

The 39 Clues

For my last book I chose a quick read, The 39 Clues by: Jude Watson. This book would fit into the genre category of fiction. I chose this book because I have heard that these books are interesting and a quick read.
In this book two siblings, Amy and Dan Cahill, are forced to steal famous artwork or else the kidnappers, The Vespers, will kill their family that they are holding hostage. They first start out in Florence, Italy and all around Europe, ending in Rome. Towards the end of the book they find out that their allies in trying to catch and outsmart the vespers has been killed and another has been kidnapped. As they were trying to save the newest victim they were attacked and the artwork was stolen from their backpacks, the Vespers blamed it on them for loosing it. The only thing that could be helpful was something called a Serum made up of 39 ingredients, and then... The book leaves you hanging.
Two things I liked about this book is that it was short, and that it had a lot of action and suspense in it. I didn't have any dislikes about the book. This book is age appropriate for about everyone from 5th grade through 7th grade. I would recommend this book to a friend as their last book. People who like action and suspense would like to read this book.

                                Million Dollar Throw
The book I read was Million Dollar Throw bt Mike Lupica. The genre of this book is fiction. I read this book because the kid on the front cover is wearing a tom brady jersey(my favorite fotball player). I would recommend this book to anyone who likes football its a great book.
The kids name in the story is Nate. He is the quater back for his travel teamin Massachusetts. The person who inspired him is Tom Brady. His family is introuble bacause his father lost his job and there house is up for sale. He likes a girl named Abby. She is suffering from a disease that will eventuall cause her to loose her eyesight. He goes to the Patriots stadium and at halftime he must throw a football thirty yards into a twenty one in hole to get his money and glory. He goes out there and throws it and .....
This book was a great book. Two thing I liked about this book is he is a Patriots fan like me. Nate alson had a ton of determination to go out there and try to make that throw. This book did not have one dull part. If i hate to rate this book i would give it a 9.

Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen

I read the book Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen. It is about a boy who is a survival situation in the winter of the Canadian Wilderness. I chose this book because I like adventurous books.
The boy's name is Brian Robeson he is about 13 years old and he goes on plane that crashes into the wilderness. After that he is stranded in the middle of nowhere. Then he has to survive the cold and snowy winter.
Two things I liked about this book is its in Canada and it is very descriptive of what he eats and how gets the food from the wild.
Two things I didn't like was that he almost dies and it took a long time for someone to find him. This book is appropriate for the ages of 10-13. I would recommend this book to a friend.People that like a lot of adventure and survival situations would love this book.

13 to Life

The book I read was "13 To Life" by Shannon Delany. The genre would be fiction or fantasy. I choose to read this book because it had interested me, and it was one of the only books that made me feel like I was really there. It also gave me a lot to think about. I would recommend this to anyone who liked the Twilight series.

Jessica Gillmansen had been through a lot recently, her mothers death and now weird things are happening in her home town of Junction. Everything is about to change when Jessie is called to the guidance office to escort the new student, Pietr Rusakova to all of his classes. Jessie knows something is hidden behind the good looks and russian accent.
Pietr Rusakova is more than the typical 16 year old boy. His parents were "murdered" and his oldest brother now takes care of him and his siblings. Pietr has another brother, Max, and a twin sister, Cat. But this is more than an almost orphaned family, they have much deeper, darker secrets than the town could imagine. Or is it just the helpless students and parents that don't know everything..?

Two things I liked about "13 to life" was how well connected everything was put. It had all flown perfectly together and I was never disappointed. I also liked the relationship between Jessie and Pietr. It was almost perfect, except how stubborn Jessie was. One thing I didn't like was that Jessie kept pushing Pietr away, and to her best friend Sarah. I would rate this book a ten.

Evermore

The book Evermore is a great book of mystery, romance, and complications. Evermore is a book i would recomend entirely. The Evermore book comes from a book series called the imortals. The main character is a closed-in quiet blonde who once was popular until the accident.

She then moves in with her aunt and goes to a whole new school! They dont even give her a chance, but it may have to be with the huge scar on her forhead from the accident. She ends up with two misfits and then the twist.

I would recomend reading this book for the big twist that noone could see coming. The whole evermore series is great. Start with Evermore and you'll want the whole series!

A.D. New Orleans After the Deluge

The book I read was A.D. New Orleans After the Deluge. A.D. is a nonfiction graphic novel written by Josh Neufeld. I chose this book because it is the freshman summer reading book for The College At Brockport and I thought it would be interesting to read.
A.D. tells the first hand stories of Denise, Leo and Michelle, Abbas and Darnell, Kwame, and The Doctor or Brobson during Hurricane Katrina. Their stories are told  from the first stages of Katrina, during Katrina, after Katrina, and what it was like for them to return to New Orleans after Katrina. A.D. helps illustrate the events in a comic book kind of way.
One thing I liked about this book was the way it portayed the stories of some of the people effected by Hurricane Katrina in an easy to understand way. Also I liked the way A.D. was well organized into "the before, the during, the after, and the return." I would recommend this book to people ages 10 and up who would like to learn more about Hurricane Katrina and who would like to read a nonfiction graphic novel.

The Hunger Games!

The book I read was The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. This book is very futuristic, and i choose this book because everyone was reading it and it sounded like a very good book.
This book is about a girl named Katniss. There is the Capitol, and twelve districts. Every year, there is one boy and one girl chosen from each district to fight to the death. There is only one winner and this winner will get to go to the Victor's Village. they will have their own house, but of course, their families can come too. What will happen in this Hunger Games? Read the book to find out! :)
The two things i didn't like were nothing! i liked every part of this book. You will like this book if you are interested in fighting to the death, romance, or (sometimes) comedy. Obviously you would like this book if you are a Hunger Games fan. :) i give this book an 11 on a scale from 1-10 :)

A Child Called It

I read a book called A Child Called It. It was written by Dave Pelzer. He is actually writing about his own childhood. I chose to read this book because it seemed interesting and my friend recommended it to me. It is mainly about a little boy, trying to live through his terrible childhood, hoping one day life will get better for him.

Dave Pelzer was only a little boy. All he wanted was to be cared for and loved. He wanted to be treated as a person and not treated like a nobody. His mother would abuse him daily and come up with "little games" to hurt Dave even more. He had to do all the chores as his brothers played outside. He couldn't even eat with his family. He spent most of his time in the garage, which was more of his home than the actual house. David was living in a "hell house" he calls it but the thing is, he was too scared to do anything about it. His father left because he couldn't stand his wife and all of the problems in the house. David was eventually referred to as "It". All he wanted was to be loved but all he got was nothing. This book talks about his horrible childhood and his hope to someday get out of the house and be free.

Two things I liked about this book was how it wasn't boring and it constantly had you wanting to keep reading. I didn't dislike anything about it. It's a sad book but it has a good story behind it. I would recommend this book to all of my friends. It has a good lesson about child abuse, and how it affects kids lives in a terrible way, and how it should stop. I'm happy I chose to read this book.
