Everest: The Contest

The book I read was Everest: The Contest. The author of this book is Gordon Korman. This book is mainly an adventure and mystery book. I chose this book because after reading the paragraph on the back i decided that it sounded like a good book and started reading it.
Everest: The Contest is the contest to get the youngest climber to climb Mount Everest. Many climbers will be competing to see if they will be chosen. Dominic, Chris'es little brother, has been wanting to get into this for some time. The contest is to spell Everest in the letters found in Everest packages of candy bars and energy drinks. He became lucky and after finding his last letter, v, he was officially going to the training camp, that doesn't mean that he will go on the trip though. During training the camp members are put through an intense training of many different activities and after even after having a lung x-ray would they find out if they were accepted or not. They said that having healthy lungs is a big part of your acceptance. The find out what happens next you need to read the next book in the series.
One thing i liked about this book is that at many times is was suspenseful. Another thing I liked about this book is that they talked about much equipment, etc. One thing i did not like about this book as it was not a very interesting book as i thought when i read the diolauge. Another is that it took forever to read because it was very dull most times after page 30-40! This is a appropriate book for ages 10-up. People that are interested in mountain climbing this book is for you. I would have to say that i would not recommend this book to anyone.
