Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys Super Mystery Carolyn Keene & Franklin Dixon

This book was ok but not great The Hardy boys go to Rockapazooma to watch their favorite band Lethal Injection and they are also on a case that they got from American teens against crime. The death brothers kidnapped a girl so they can trade her for the lead singer of another group. Nancy Drew is there too and she gets the information out of the Hardy boys.  Nancy and her friends help the Hardy Boys get the girl back off the stage and keep Kijani from getting kidnapped.
I wouldn’t recommend this book because it wasn’t great but people from 10-13 would like it if they like mysteries.

Touching Spirit Bear Ben Mikaelson

This book was great. Cole got in trouble for doing bad things and then he beat up Peter Driscal.  He hurt Peter by hitting his head on the ground and causing Peter to have something wrong with his head. He blamed his problems on his parents When Cole got in trouble he went through the Circle Justice and had to go to an island where he was attacked by a bear that he claims to be the spirit bear and he thought he would die.  Garvey his probation officer and Edwin took him to an island so he could find himself.  They show him different spiritual things like carving a totem pole and he finally sees the spirit bear again. He then thinks he can help Peter so Peter comes and they don’t get along at first but then he helps Peter see they bear.
I would recommend it to kids 12-15 it was a good book.

The Siege of Macindaw

This is book 6 of the Ranger's Apprentice series and it answers a lot of questions and solves a lot of problems that began in book 5. The kingdom is in danger and a renegade knight Sir Keren has taken over Castle Macindaw. Will's friend Alyss is being held prisoner in the castle tower and Will has fallen in love with her. The kingdom need Will's help, but Alyss does too.

Horace and Will have been friends since childhood. Horace has also been trained and is now a sorcerer and a healer. Horace and Will partner up to recapture Castle Macindaw, restore the castle to the kingdom, and to rescue Alyss.

Will finishes his first Ranger mission in this book. He has grown from a kid in training to a mature and skilled adult. He is smart and fierce and a great fighter. I really liked this book and know other kids will too.

The Sorcerer of the North

Jon Flanagan's book 5 of the Ranger's Apprentice series is called the Sorcerer of the North. Will has finished being an apprentice and has received his first post as a new Ranger in the kingdom. Will is sent to the kingdom's northern border to deal with some problems. On his way north he meets an injured sheep dog on the side of the road. They become friends.

The thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended with a huge cliffhanger and I couldn't get book 6 right away! My brother has the entire series but was missing book 6!

In book 5 Will is now a man and he is a Ranger for the kingdom. He is very skilled in using a knife and a bow. He is smart, a good problem solver, and a good tracker. He is a young hero that readers can look up to.

The Icebound Land

This is book 3 of the Ranger's Apprentice Series. The main character Will has been training with a Ranger named Halt. The evil Lord Morgarath is up to no good again. After a fierce battle with Morgarath, Will and a princess named Evanlyn are captured and sent to be slaves in the frozen land of Skandia. Will is separated from Halt, but Halt teams up with Will's friend Horace and promises to rescue will.

I liked this book of the series because it was like two books in one. The story follows the adventures of Will and Evanlyn and then follows all of the trouble Halt and Horace have trying to rescue Will.

This stories are interesting and have a lot of adventure. There are fights with knives, swords, knights, and more. The author Jon Flanagan likes to surprise the readers with twists and surprise endings.

The Ruins of Gorlan

I began reading the Ranger's Apprentice series because my brother likes them and he has almost all of the books. Book 1 is called The Ruins of Gorlan. The main character in the series is Will. He is 15 years old and is small for his age. Will is training for his chance to become a Ranger. On "Choosing Day" he is not picked to go to Battleschool, but his friend Horace is.

My favorite part of the story is when Will gets a chance to be an apprentice for a Ranger named Halt, but he has to past a test first, and he doesn't even know its a test. Halt tells him to climb a sheer wall to a window that leads to Baron's study. Halt is surprised when Will does it and agrees to take him on as an apprentice.

I really like this series and think the books are fun and interesting to read.

Rules by Cynthia Lord

No David, you can't put rubber ducks in the fish bowl. That is one of the many problems that Catherine has to explain to her brother David. It's not exactly David's fault. It's a birth defect, but Catherine is getting sick of telling her brother what to do. But then Jason comes along. But David has to follow the RULES.

12 year old Catherine Collins has a complicated life. An autistic brother, David who is 8 years old, and is totally embarrassed by both him, and her paraplegic friend Jason. She makes a book of rules for David to follow, but there always seems to be something he does that makes it onto the Rule Book. Will Catherine ever introduce Jason to her friends? Will David ever follow the rules?

I chose this book because it had vibrant colors. I liked the book, but got annoyed with how naggy Catherine was. I just wanted to punch her in the nose. I'd give this book 2/5. But I liked how Catherine ended up not being ashamed. :)

Runner-Carl Deuker

I would recommend this book to ages 10-18
Chance lives on a boat with his Dad that drinks to much and his mom left him. Chance is a runner who like to run alone.  Someone offers him money to do a job and he takes it so they can pay the bills or they will lose their boat.  Then when he gets in too deep his Dad helps him because the cops are all over the place they live.
It was a good book for someone 12-15

The Heart of a Champion-Carl Deuker

Jimmy is a good baseball player who is best friends with Seth and they also played on the same team.  Seth wants to be like Jimmy because he is a better ball player.  Seth’s dad died and they used to practice at the park with Jimmy’s dad.  Then Jimmy dies in a car accident and Seth plays baseball better but still misses his friend.

Gym Candy-Carl Deuker

Mick Johnson grew up with a dad that failed in his career in football. He played football at school and decided that regular vitamins don’t work so he starts getting steroids or gym candy from his trainer at the gym.  He starts doing better and his Dad is happy with him.  The only thing is he is getting mean and he has some people wondering if he is using steroids and they start asking questions.  Mick gets nervous and tries to commit suicide.
This is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone who loves sports.  Ages 12-18

Catching Fire

The book that I read is called Catching Fire, by Susan Collins. This is about a girl, Katniss, who wants nothing but the Capitol and the president to leave her and her family alone! I chose this book because it is the second book to The Hunger Games that I have read. If u decide to read Catching Fire, make sure that you read The Hunger Games first. Everything will make much more sense.
Katniss Everdeen a seventeen year old girl, who has probably been through way more than grownups have, is the main character. Im not going to tell you about The Hunger Games, because that is a totally different story. However there are a couple of things you should know. She was sent to the hunger games, where 24 children have to fight to the death in an arena. Katniss and her friend were the winners. However in that book she did something rebellious toward the Capitol and the games. Now in Catching Fire she has to pay. The one thing she really wants is for the president to not kill her and her family. She wants to keep them all safe. They all just want to be left alone. However, really President Snow has the power to do anything to them, and he made sure to personally tell that to Katniss. Now that she has done that rebellious thing, her and her family are in danger! Because of those acts she took, more people and districts are starting rebellions. So, I think that the president by this time is just dying to get rid of Katniss. However, he can't without people knowing that it was him, and staring more rebellions. Since Katniss won the games its a rule, that she doesn't have to go back in the arena. Or does she? Find out what the president plans on doing and what happens or doesnt happen to Katniss.
This was a really good book, and there were many things I liked about it!! One thing I liked was how at the end of every chapter it left you hanging so that you couldn't stop reading and you had to go to the next chapter. Another thing is how in depth and detailed everything is. It is honestly like im actually there. I didn't like though in the story how the book ended, it just left me hanging and wanted to know more. Also, there were a couple slow parts in the story and I didnt like that. I would definetly recomend this book to anyone. I think that everyone should read the whole series sometime in there life. It is really amazing!!

Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

I read the book Diary Of A WImpy Kid. I honestly didn't care what the back said, I wanted to read it with my friend Emma. When she finished, I read her post on the book, and since she told me specifically not to read it, I read it. To be honest, I hate the book.
The book begins with a seventh grader, named Greg Heffley.
Greg isn't exactly what you would call 'popular' or 'tall'. Greg is short and has one friend who is really irritating named Rowley.
Greg has extremly high expectations on his adult life, thinking he will be famous and rich, so he decided to use a 'journal', to describe everything 'interesting' that happens to him. Greg has a younger brother who calls him Bubby, an older brother who torments him, an over-involved mom, and a weird middle-aged dad. Greg overgoes diffrent expiriences that somehow affect him. In gym he is doing wrestling and is beat by the nerdiest kid ever named Fregley, and then Rowley eats this cheese crap, and then Greg breaks Rowleys arm. Yeah, this book sucked.
The book made me want to gauge my eyes out with a straw. The book was poorly written, and an over-all dissappointment to all the hype it gets from the movie. This book doesn't even deserve any stars. Emma was right, the writer should give up and leave his imaginary life..... I reccomend this to people I don't like.

Breaking Dawn

I read the book Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. I read this book because i read the other twilights books that were before this book. (except twilight :P)

This book was about Bella and Edward getting married and spending the rest of there eternal lives together. Bella has a half-vampire baby and the volturi dont like it. When the volturi come to visit and see that Bella isnt a vampire yet and shes havning a baby, they will kill her. Bella has the baby, and as the baby is being born Edward turned Bella into a vampire by taking the venum from him and injecting it into her. The volturi come, let the baby live because shes only half vampire, and the rest i cant say cause itll ruin it :P

I liked how in this book there wasnt one boring part. I also liked that it was over 400 pages because now it counts as 2 books. I didnt really dislike anything in this book and i would recommened this book to any twilight lovers.

p.s you should let it count as 3 because in the book, it says book 1; book2; book3

catching fire

The hunger games series is a very interesting.
In this book katniss is returning from the hunger games. She ends up being forced to love peeta.
This book is for teens who love a good war and romance

the goblet of fire

The gobblet of fire is another one of J.K. Rowlings' amazing books. She has written 7 books. This one has 734 pages.
In this book harry gets sent into a tornement that could kill him. He has to battle a dragon. Also he has to go into a lake and rescue one of his friends and he only has one hour. The final task was to find the cup to win.
Hary potter is books for young adults.

Pendragon the lost city of faar

The book Pendragon is a great book about Bobby Pendragon ans his journey through time and space. In this story he is on the territory of cloral. The people of cloral live on floating houses called habitats, they also grow their own food. Bobby also meets his future best friend vo spader.

When Bobby arrives on cloral they have to use underwater boat things called skimmers. To breathe they put on these globe-like things on their heads and it allows them to breathe. The territory of cloral is very high-tech and they are smart people. But the territory gets poisoned by something or someone they don't know yet. Then a different floating city threatens to shoot them unless they pay ten bags of food. It is very hard to do because all of their food is poisoned. They try to come up with a solution but fail and they have to go get help. Who knows what happens next you will have to read to find out.

What I did not like about this book is that it was very long. Another thing i did not like was that in some spots it was very boring. But for the most part it was very exciting, it was also very detailed and interesting. I would recommend this book to anybody. But it is a long book so it might take you a while to read it.

Touching Spirit Bear

I read Touching Spirit Bear. The author of the book is Ben Mikaelsen. This Cole Mathews  always was the bad kid until he did something really wrong. For that he finds out a lot of things about himself and what he should do. I'm not going to lie, i chose this book because i liked the cover!
Cole Mathews was always a bad kid growing up. he always got in fights and got in trouble by everyone. But one day he got into a fight and made a guy maybe have brain damage forever. So his two choices are prison or circle justice. Knowing that he didn't want to go to prison he chose circle justice. Cole is sent to Alaskan island for one year for what he has done. He doesn't have the best time there either, he got horribly attacked by a white bear. After the attack he starts to change his mind about everyone else but him is to blame about his bad life. He needs to realize that in order to live.
One thing i liked about this book was it could reflect on any kids life that has the same problems. Another ting i like about the book is Cole just has to come to his senses to save him. One thing i didn't like about this book was some parts were boring. Another thing i didn't like about the book was it was kind of too descriptive. I think people from ages 12 to 15 would be appropriate for this novel. I would recomend it to a friends. I think boys and girls would like this book.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid

Diary Of a Wimpy Kid is By Jeff Kinney. I chose to read this book because it was recommended to me.
It is about a kid named Greg hefley and his friend Rowley. They are going into their first year of middle school and have to get through bullies, and the older brother. His mom got him a journal that said diary on it so he had to try and hide it.

Two things i like about this book are that this book is funny and that it is such an easy read. The ages appropriate for this book is 12-14. I recommend this book to josh porter because he likes funny things. Honestly, i think that anyone could enjoy this book.

Glass by: Ellen Hopkins.

ITS A SPOILER !!!!!

This is and amazingggg book. I recommend this to everyone on earth !

Hatchet

I read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This kid Brian was going to his dad's flying in a plane over a forest. When they crash and the pilot doesn't survive, but he does. I chose this book because it looked like a fun and fast read.
Brian was going to visit his dad but to get there he had to fly over a forest. Everything was going good until the pilot started having a heart attack in the middle of nowhere and soon they crashed. The pilot died but he lived through the crash which the plane landed in a lake. He had to survive in the woods by himself for a long time not knowing what was out in the woods or what was going to happen to him. Like getting stuck many times by a porcupine.
One thing i liked about this book was it was very adventurous. Another thing i liked about this book is what happened to the character could happen to anyone. One thing i didn't like about the book was it was it was brutal when it was talking about the corpse of the pilot in the lake. Another thing i didn't like was it seemed like bad things never ended for him. I think people ages 13 and up are appropriate for this book. I would recomend this to a friend. Both guys and girls would like this book.

Eclipse

I read the book Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer's. I choose this book because i had a goal to read all the twilight books (i did but not the first one...)

This book was about Victoria creating an army of vampires to kill Bella. The Cullens try to track who was making the army because Alice, Edwards sister, couldnt see who was doing it. The werewolves and the vampires come together to help save Bella from the army of newborn vampires. There was a big battle at the end but i cant say what happens cause you gotta read it to know but it involves the voturie and a wedding ring. ;D

Two thing i liked about this book was that there was more action in this book then any of the other twilight books. Another reason i liked this book was because unlike new moon, there were vampiers and werewolves threw the whole book. I didnt like how Bella acted in this book. In new moon she did all this crazy stuff just to see Edward and she was just boring in this book. I would recommend this book to all the twilight lovers. :)

Eclipes has 629 pages

New Moon has 563 pages

The Enemy has 440 pages

total so far: 6 books

just makin it easy mrs henry :)

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

I chose Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by: Rick Riordan because i liked the cover to tell you the truth. Honestly, i thought it was a pretty good book.

This book is about a kid named Percy who is half human and half god. Percy is the son of Poseiden. During this book Percy has many obstacles in his way. He has to find Zueses lightning bolt before summer solstice occurs. Percy and two friends go to the underworld to try and find the god of the underworld. Find out yourself how the rest of the story ends.

I liked this book because it had tons of points where it would draw you back in. I also liked this book because it got me interested in the first few pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action like i do.

solitary escape from furnance

in the book solitary by Alexander Gordon smith. alexs first escape was a fail and the black suits caught him now he is being put in solitary. where his thoughts and his lonesome will tear him a part. but when he is in the cell he learns how to talk to his friend through the toilet. but before he learned to to talk to his friend he was going through rough times the thoughts of his family and the outside world kept eating away at him. the worst part was was that the weazers took his friend before so he kept thinking and dreaming that Donovan was in the cell with him.

when he finally learns how to talk to is friend he thinks that t wont be so bad till till a rat type of animal keeps attacking the guards and the cell. then a old cell kid that got taken but escaped is hiding in the bottom of the furnace and he keeps coming to get Alex and his friends out so Alex can help them find a way out of the furnace and back to the real world with hamburgers and people. not the weird things that lurk in the bottom of the furnace.

there is a war breaking out in the furnace between unknown creatures and the guards of the furnace. but the bad news is that the way they were trying to get out didn't work due to the weird rat creatures so it leaves Alex speechless how furnace is almost unbreakable. i recommended this book for whoever likes scary and mystery books. i recommend this books for teenagers.

lock down escape from furnance

in the first book of the bone chilling series lock down brings excitement and mystery to a new type of book. this book is by Alexander Gordon smith. well in the book a kid named Alex is a 12 year old boy that was supposed to rob a house with his friend till something that will change his life forever happens well when Alex and his friend Tommy were supposed to get the money and leave a quick deal they run into black suits as they call him. they are giants and a weazer later found out about in the book.

well the black suits kill Tommy and give Alex the gun. they frame Alex and tell the police that he killed his best friend. Alex tried to run but didn't get far when the police caught him and took him into jail. when he gets to the judge. the judge says that Alex will spend a life sentence in a place called the furnace its supposed to be the most sucear jail for young kids what police don't know is what happens to the kids in the furnace.

so Alex has a choice try to escape the furnace or take a chance and maybe try to outsmart the weazers. well i recommended this book for whoever likes mystery, horror and friendship. this book is great for young teens. hope u like the book.

Black Box by,Julie Shumacher

This book is about a 14 year old who's sister is put in the hospital for depression. Her sister is 16 years old and Elena cannot seem to make her life seem perfect anymore same with her parents who argue all the time. Also at school no one seems to care about her, her only friend is Jimmy.Elena will do anything to make her sister come home and her life to be perfect again like she use to have it.

I think this book was reallly good but sad because of what her sister went through and what her family had to go through also. i would give this book a 9/10

(Amber Becker)

The Sorcerers Stone

The book that I read was called Harry Potter and the Scorers Stone. This book was written by J.K. Rowling. I chose this book because my sister kept on begging me to start the series, so I started the series. This book is about a boy named Harry Potter who grows up with this relatives and then goes to Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry.
One morning while living with his three muggle relatives (muggles are people that don't believe in magic), his uncle Vernon, aunt Petunia, and his mean cousin Dudley, Harry gets a piece of mail from the school of Hogwarts. His aunt and uncle don't want him to go but after a big fight with Harry, and Hagrid, Harry ends up going. Harry and Hagrid go to Gringotts, the biggest and safest bank in the wizard world to get Harry money to buy things for school. Hagrid also goes to another room where he takes a little package from. When harry asks him what it is, he says that it is Hogwarts business. When Harry finally gets to the train station, he notices that his ticket says that he has to go to platform 9 3/4. This is very weird because there is no platform 9 3/4. Later, he hears a women saying how the station is packed full of muggles. He follows this lady and her children. The lady helps Harry get onto the platform. On the train ride to Hogwarts, the lady’s son, Ron, asks to sit with Harry. Harry and Ron almost instantly become the best of friends. On the first day of school, the teacher that Harry really despises is Professor Snape. A few days later Harry was reading “The Daily Prophet” and he reads that a vault has been broken into. A goblin commented and said that if you knew what was in the vault you wouldn’t want to break into it. This get’s Harry wanting to know what was in the vault and where it is now.
The thing that I liked about this book was that it was always exciting and also that it was way better than the movie. It was better than the movie because it went into way more detail. I would recommend this book to a younger reader. It is also an easier read (and absolutely amazing, way better that the movie) XDXDXDXDXD :):):):):):):):):) good read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is also an easier read (and absolutley amazing, way better that the movie) XDXDXDXDXD :):):):):):):):):) good read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

summer ball

I chose the book summer ball by Mike Lupica because i wanted to know what happened at the end Of travel Team.

In this book Danny Walker at first did not want to go to the basketball camp that was in Maine. After Danny's friends talk him into going to the camp, he gets picked to play on the summer team. His coach is the very famous Ed Powers. Danny's coach doesn't really like him a lot. The rest is for you to read.

One thing i liked about this book is that it is about basketball. I also liked the fact that this book goes along with the first book, Travel Team. I would recommend this book for kids the ages 11 and up. One kid i would recommend this book is to Adam Stetzel because he loves basketball.

Impulse

I read the book Impluse by Ellen Hopkins. It is about three teens Tony,Conner, and Vanessa. These teens have many problems in there life. They end up taking pills maybe to get rid of the pain they are all feeling.Vanessa ends up liking both of the boys and the boys end up both liking her.

I thought this was another good book by Ellen Hopkins.I would rate this a 9 out 10.

The Champion Sharpshooter

Sandie really wanted to go to Vida, Nebraska for the annual festivals and music of Vida Days. So her family got tickets and went. when she got there she found out about the Shooting Contest the held and one of the festivals then she got really excited. She wanted the grand prize witch was a Winchester '76 ( still have not figured out what that is????) But it was hard to get around in that town because the town kids did not like her because she was a York's ( what they called people from new york).

In order to win the best shooting contest she has to beat the best in all of Nebraska Red Cloven. she knows she is a good shooter but no to sure about him. this book is the perfect example of life in Nebraska in 1850. i would request this book to anyone really i did not love it but it was pretty good.

Breaking Dawn

The book that I chose was Breaking Dawn, by Stephenie Meyers. Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final book in the Twilight series. The book is split into three different parts. Part one is narrated by Bella, this talks about Bella's marriage and honey moon with Edward. Soon, Bella realizes that she may be pregnant. Carlisle confirms this and she finds out that because it is a half vampire- half human baby, her pregnancy is progressing quicker than expected. So with that, they hurry back to Forks. Although it is dangerous for her ton conceive the child and she is getting very sick, Bella forms a strong connection with the unborn child and is determined to have it.
The second part of the book is narrated by Jacob Black. His pack is upset over the fact that Bella is having a vampire baby and they plan to kill the child, endangering Bella. Jacob gets angry and wants to protect her, so he becomes the leader of his own wolf pack like he was always meant to do. As Bella goes through labor, the baby is too powerful and she loses a lot of blood. To save her, Edward is forced to turn Bella into a vampire. Bella recovers and names the baby Renesmee.
The third part of the book goes back to Bella's POV, where she explains what it was like to be changed into a vampire and talks about her enjoying her new life as an immortal. The Volturi are angry that Bella and Edward have created an immortal child (which is illegal) so they plan on destroying the Cullen family and killing the child. To prevent this from happening, the Cullen's gather an army of vampires and werewolves to protect Bella and to show the Volturi that Renesmee is not really an immortal child. The volturi realize that Renesmee is not an immortal child but may still pose a threat, so they still debate on whether or not to kill her. But Alice and Jasper brought along another Vampire/human being that shows thee Volturi that crossbreeds do not pose a threat. So the Volturi leave and the Cullen's are safe to continue on with there lives.
This book was a great ending to the series. I would recommended it to anyone 10+ who has read the other twilight books and loves vampires, romance, action, and fantasy. I like that this book jumps back and forth from Bella's to Jacob's POV, and you get to see more of the life of a werewolf. There wasnt really anything I didnt like about the book besides maybe that it started out slow.

Bridge to Terabithia

In the book Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson, Jess Aaron's is the fastest kid in the fifth grade. Every day at recess he runs a race with the fifth grade boys, ONLY BOYS are allowed to race until a certain girl named Leslie Burke shows up and beats all the boys. Leslie is not like the other kids, she has no TV just her imagination. Jess Aarons' thought he saw the last of her after the race but turns out she was right next store to his house.

After school one day she decided that her and Jess needed a place where there were mo bullies and teachers just them and whatever they came up with. they found this place bake in the woods where they can only get to by a rope hanging over a river. when they get there they both ruled as king and queen in the land of Terabithia where their imagination is their limit.

I would request this book to anyone who loves the read and go where ever the characters go and play the role that they do. this has a great morel to it. if the sky is the limit then why are there foot prints on the moon?

Eclipse

The book I read was Eclipse, by Stephenie Meyer. Eclipse is the third book in the Twilight series. In this book, after being reunited with Edward, Bella has to deal with jealousy between Edward and Jacob. Werewolves and vampires being natural enemies becomes a big problem. At the same time, Victoria is building an army of newborn vampires to attack the Cullen's and get her revenge for the death of her lover James. The Cullen's are aware of the oncoming attack and join forces with the werewolves to help prepare for an army of newborn vampires.
This book was exciting and will keep you turning pages until the very end. The beginning starts out slow, but as the battle comes closer it picks up. I liked that the volturi showed up in this book as well. And that now that Bella and Edward agreed to get married, Bella will become a vampire soon. I recommended this book for anyone with a love for romance, fantasy, action, and vampires. I would recommend it for ages 10+.

The Last Song

I read "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks. It's about a confused, almost depressed girl named Ronnie who dreads spending the summer with her father who she feels had "abandoned" her after her father and mother got a divorce. I picked this book because it was one of the Nicholas Sparks books I haven't read yet.

17 year old Ronnie lives with her mom in New York City. She is forced to spend the whole summer with her father and her younger brother, Jonah. But she wants no part of her dad at all because she feels he abandoned her after her parents divorce. During almost the entire summer, Ronnie does nothing but glare at her father and ignore him. When she was younger, he use to give her piano lessons, but now she just gave all of that up and became a troubled teenager. After a while, Ronnie learns about her relationship with her father and finds new experiences that she learns to like. She realizes that everyone deserves a second chance.

Honestly, this wasn't one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books. It was kinda boring, actually. There's a nice story to it, but nothing really CRAZY and EXCITING happens, other than the ending. But I thought it was an easy read so, it's okay. I would recommend this book to any Nicholas Sparks fans or teenage girls. (:

New Moon

The book I chose was New Moon, by Stephenie Meyer. New moon is the second book in the twilight series. In the book, its Bella's birthday and Alice decides to throw a party at her house. During the party, Bella has an accident and Jasper attacks her. Edward, realizing that Bella is safer without him, leaves her. Bella becomes depressed and shuts herself off from the rest of the world for months on end. But she soon warms up to Jacob Black, who she later finds out is a werewolf. Upon becoming better friends with Jacob, Bella becomes reckless and tries cliff diving. In her mind, Alice saw Bella jump off the cliff. But since she cannot see Bella when she is around a werewolf, she thinks that Bella is dead. Edward believes this too and decides that he doesn't want to live without her so he seeks death from the Volturi. Alice goes to Bella's house to see if she really had died. When she finds Bella alive, they rush to Volterra to rescue Edward.
In this book I liked the vividness of the Volturi's description. I also liked that Jacob was brought into the scene more in this book. I disliked the fact that like seven pages were just months going by. Other than that I loved the book :) This book is great for vampire and romance lovers. Also anyone who has read the first book should totally read this one too.

A Walk to Remember

I read "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks. This book is about an 18 year old boy named Landon who falls in love with a girl he could never picture himself with and it basically changes his whole life. I chose this book because I saw the movie and wanted to see which was better:)

18 year old Landon Carter is like the popular kid in school. He's rich, hangs out with the "cool" kids and always sneers at the people he thinks are inferior. 18 year old Jamie Sullivan is totally different. She's nerdy, religious, poor, and has never really had any experience with having a boyfriend. But after Landon gets into trouble and has to take Drama class, (which Jamie is in), everything changes. Once Landon sees Jamie on stage, performing, he falls in love instantly. Now Landon has to face his friends making fun of him and the condition that Jamie is in.

I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. Everything about it. This is by far my more favorite Nicholas Sparks book. He's such a great writer (: I really didn't not like anything about it. If I had to pick one thing, it would be that it makes you tear up. I have to say I like the book better, only because it's way more detailed than the movie. But over all both of them are pretty much the same. I would recommend this book to anyone who LOVES sappy, lovey, teary-uppy books. . . or just girls. (: haha

Glass

"Glass" by Ellen Hopkins is the sequel to another Ellen Hopkins book, "Crank" that follows a girl's adventures after she gives birth to her first child. As much as she wants to stay away from the horrible monster called meth and take care of her baby properly, she can't bring herself to stay away. After reading "Crank", I immediately fell in love with Ellen Hopkins' books! I wanted to read the sequel to it, so I checked this one out and loved it as well!

Following the events of "Crank", 17-year-old Kristina Snow, also known as Bree, has a baby boy named Hunter and stayed off of the monster for a while to take care of herself and the baby. However, one day after a few months, she lies to her family and crawls back into her meth addiction. There, she meets Trey, the love of her life. After all of these events, Kristina gets kicked out of her home after Hunter got hurt when she fell asleep. Her parents were granted full custody of her own child. She then lived with Trey's cousin and his two daughters, where she gets kicked out again when the mother of the girls comes back. Kristina then gets many more bombshells in her life that will change the way she lived it forever.

One of the things I loved about this book is that it was written in poem form and in a unique way than most 600+ page books are written. I also love that it goes into detail about the dangerous life of a person who does meth. There weren't many things I didn't like about it, mostly because all of Ellen Hopkins' books are amazing! I recommend this to anyone who likes to read books about intense teen troubles. However, it does have things that aren't so suitable for people who can't handle things like swearing, sexual references, etc. Other that that, amazing book!

Note: This book does have 681 pages, but you'll fly through it since the pages are short.

The Guardians of Ga'hoole: The Journey

The Guardians of Ga’hoole, The Journey by Kathryn Lasky is the book I chose for this book report. It is a good book with adventure and mystery. The most interesting fact about this book is, it is about owls. I read this book because I had already read the books previous to it. After escaping St. Aggies Soren, Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger have embarked on a quest to find the Great Ga’hoole Tree. There they wish to find sanctuary and hope against the evil that stalks the land. But the journey is long and perilous, danger around every corner. Each of the owls will face challenges and tests they could never have dreamed of. If they succeed they will unknowingly set into course the saving of the owl kingdom, but if they fail, it will come crashing down around them.
There were many things I liked in this book but also a few things I did not. Two things I liked were the description of the appearance of the setting and characters and its creativity. Two things I disliked were the shortness of the book and its underdevelopment of some of the characters. This book is good for fantasy and animal lovers nine and up.

Guardians of Ga'hoole: The Rescue

Guardians of Ga’hoole, The Rescue is the book I chose for this book report. This book, written by Kathryn Lasky, is an interesting book filled with surprises and action. The most creative fact about this book is, it is about owls. I read this book because I read the books in its series and liked them.
After escaping St. Aggies and coming to the Great Ga’hoole Tree Soren and his friend learned the truth. The legends they had heard since they were hatchlings were true stories. And to add to these new hopes Soren has finally rejoined with his sister who he has not seen since his kidnapping, but even all this is overshadowed by two terrible facts. Ezylryb, Soren’s mentor and elder at the great tree, has gone missing. Aside from that, a worse danger than even St. Aggies now roams the land, and its power threatens to destroy the owl kingdom.
In this book there were many things I liked but also many I did not. Two things I liked were the surprises and the creativity. Two things I disliked were its shortness and its underdevelopment of some characters. It is great for fantasy readers and animal lovers nine and up.

Guardians of Ga'hoole: The Capture

Guardians of Ga’hoole: The Capture by Kathryn Lasky is the book I chose for this book review. It is an interesting book with suspense and mystery. One thing, though, that surprised me more than anything else was this, the book is about owls. I chose this book because the back cover looked interesting and I heard from a friend that the book was good.
In this book a young Barn Owl named Soren, born in the Forest of Tyto of the Southern Kingdom, falls from his tree. Soon afterwards, he is saved by strange owls that then capture him and take him to a strange and forbidding canyon. The owls call it an orphanage, but it seems more like a prison to Soren. There he meets Gylfie a young Elf Owl who was captured by these cruel owls as well. Together they plan to escape, but the only way out is to fly, something they have never before done.
In this book there were things I liked, but also things I didn’t. One thing I liked was the way the author described the setting. Another thing I liked was the suspense; it was hard to see what would happen next. One thing I disliked was the underdevelopment of some of the characters. Another thing I disliked was I think they should have added more to the book, it was too short. All in all, I would recommend it to kids nine and up perfect for animal lovers, boys, and girls.

Songs of the Dragon

Song of the Dragon, by Tracy Hickman is the book that I chose for this book review. This book, roughly four hundred and twenty pages long, is one of the most interesting books I’ve read with suspense conspiracy and action. One thing I thought was interesting is the way Hickman portrayed the elves. I read this book because it is written by one of two authors from another series called Dragonlance which I really enjoyed.
The elves are a great power; and have already destroyed and conquered nearly all races and kingdoms in their path to form the powerful Rhonas Empire. The elves rule with an iron fist, enslaving other races to their will with magic so powerful the slaves remember only what their masters want, and nothing more. Their only fear is that one of their many enslaved may find the truth to all their deception and remember. Drakis is a human warrior slave as dedicated to his elven masters as any other, but when he with his army is sent to finish the last campaign of the Rhonas Empire, the destruction of the dwarves, strange things begin to happen. As the war party draws farther away from the elven kingdom the hold of the elves magic thins and Drakis’ fellow soldiers begin to act differently, one even whispering of prophecy and urging revolt, on top of this Drakis hears a strange song which will not quiet. Thus begins one of the most epic fantasy journeys of all time.
There are many things I liked about this book and also a few I did not. One things I liked was its conspiracy theme, most fantasy writers can’t pull that kind of thing of but Hickman did splendidly. Another thing I enjoyed about this book was its powerful descriptions of each character. Two things that I think could’ve been better were the descriptions of the setting and the beginning; I think it was too rushed. I think this was an excellent read and suited for fantasy and mystery readers, twelve and up.

Fablehaven

Fablehaven, by Brandon Mull, was the book I chose for my book report. This novel has an abundance of surprise, suspense, and action. One thing I enjoyed about this book was its strong characterization. I read this book on the request of a teacher.
Seth and Kendra are just two normal kids leading perfectly normal lives. But when they have to spend a few weeks with grandparents they have never before met, their lives are drastically altered because of an amazing secret. The gigantic mansion and miles of forested land of their grandparents, also known as Fablehaven, is inhabited by all sorts of fairytale creatures! But when rules are broken and mistakes are made, the whole reserve tumbles into chaos. Can Seth and Kendra defeat the most powerful demon alive in order to save Fablehaven, and perhaps even the world?
There are many things I liked about this book and also a few I did not. Two things I liked about this book where its strong descriptions of each character and its mystery, it was hard to see what would happen next. Two things I disliked were that I think the author should have described the various creatures better and I wish the book was a little longer. I believe this book is good for all fantasy readers, nine and up.

The Ranger’s Apprentice, The Ruins of Gorlan is the book I chose for my book review. This book, written by John Flanagan, is a great book, plenty of imagery, imagination, and a wonderful storyline. One thing I enjoyed about this is the similarities with real medieval times. I chose this book on a friend’s request.
Fifteen-year-old Will has always been afraid of Ranger’s. From the time he was taken in by Baron Arald, lord of Redmont Fief, he has dreamt of being a knight, to fight battles to protect the people of Araluen. But when his Choosing Day comes he is chosen to be a Ranger’s apprentice. What he doesn’t know is that the Rangers fight the battles before they reach the people. Morgarath, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, is coming and Will will need all his strength for the coming battle.

There are many things I liked in this book and also a few things I didn’t. One thing I liked was the way the author developed the characters personality and also how he described everything using powerful imagery. Two things I disliked about the book were sometimes it was too predictable and also they should have spent more time on Will’s training. All in all, I think this book is good for all fantasy readers nine and up.

The Doll People (amber becker)

This book is about a little girl that got a doll house for her 7th birthday. And at night or when people were away the dolls would come alive and walk around the doll house and walk around there owners house. When her sister got a new doll house for her 4th birthday there became an evil doll with all of the other dolls. When the owners noticed there were things moved and gone they alwasy ended up in the doll house so they suspected something was wrong then they ended up getting rid of the dolls and the house when the girls were 8 and 5.

I think this book was creepy i would not read it again but it was pretty good at the same time. I would recommend this to someone who would like creepy stories.

The Burning Bridge

The Rangers Apprentice, The Burning Bridge is the book I chose for my book report. This book, written by John Flanagan, has a surplus of action, heroism, and suspense. One thing I enjoyed about this book was its storyline. I read this book because I have read the books before it.
The evil Lord Morgarath has been trapped behind almost impassable mountains for many peaceful years, but he has finally found means of escape. When Will and his friend Horace go to the nearby nation of Celtica they discover the terrible truth. Morgarath has an immense army, and it’s on the move. The kingdom is in danger of being abolished. Can Will warn the kingdom before it’s too late?
There are many things I liked in this book and also many things I didn’t. Two things I liked were the books familiarities with medieval ideal, such as feudalism and warfare tactics, and its description of characters and events. Two things I disliked were the author should have spent more time describing the battle and also some of the characters. All in all, this book is good for all fantasy readers, nine and up.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

This book Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Ugly Truth is a good book. It is written by Jeff Kinney. This book is about Greg growing up. I picked this because I have read all of the other books in the series. I got this book from my little sister and I think you can also find it in our school library.

In this book Greg starts to realize growing up is not all it looks like. He starts to get more responsibility and does not really like it. Greg goes to his first boy-girl party which is actually a school lock-in. His night consisted of some weird things and a cold room. The worst part about it is they couldn't play any video games. Unlike in all the other books he is with his Bff Rowley he is not in this book. Rowley is mentioned a few times but not like in other books.

I recommend this book to anybody who likes The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. This is probably one of the best in the series. I recommend this for people 11 and up. Note that this book is only 217 pages long so it will not count as two books. This was an easy read and I recommend this book to anybody. The next book in this series is rumored to be called Roderick’s Big Break and it is rumored to come out in November 2011.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of azkaban

This Harry Potter book is another long one. It has 435 pages. The book was written by J.K. Rowling.
Harrys' gardians were treating them bad so he left the house and went to the park and spent the night there. While he was there he saw a wolf. He couldn't figure out why it was there. This magical bus drove him to a run down reasturant. there he meet hagrid. on his way to hogwarts the train stopped and soon after something knocked out harry. This year he found out that he had a god father and rescued him for azkaban.
The harry potter series is for kid who have a long attention span.

Swindle

I read swindle by Gordan Korman. The book is about these kids finding a baseball card and selling it to a guy, but later fiding out it was worth millions. I chose this book because it seemed like it was going to be very exciting.
So Griffin and Ben made a plan for everyone to sleep in a old abandon house before it was demolished, but they were the only two that showed up. So they went in and there was a bad thunderstorm so they couldn't see really anything. But they came upon a dresser and in one of the droors there was a babe ruth baseball card. They sell it and find out its worth millions. They get a bunch of their friends together to break into the pawn shop that it was in, which has maximum security to get it back.
One thing i like about this book was that it was very interesting. I couldn't stop reading it. Another thing i liked about this book was it shows that kids can acomplish something big. One thing i didn't like about the book was i felt like it went by really fast. Another thing i didn't like about this book was it didn't the owner that didn't give the card back. i recomend this book to boys and girls. Also ages 12 and up. I think people that like adventures would like this book.

The Boy In the Striped Pajamas

I read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. It is about a German boy named Bruno who helps a Jewish boy and his life in a concentration camp. I chose this book because I read it off someones blog and it sounded amaazziinnnggg:)

Little, 9 year old Bruno from Germany has to move away from Berlin with his family to some place called "Out-With", well, that's what Bruno thought it was. But really they were moving to Auschwitz. Bruno's family is very different from him, though. They LOVE Hitler and HATE Jews. His sister Gretel is literally obsessed with Hitler, but Bruno doesn't want any part that. One day, Bruno was being curious about what he saw out his bedroom window, which looked like a farm. So he left his house and ran to what he saw, but really it was a concentration camp for Jews and other prisoners. There, on the other side of the fence that was dividing his house and the concentration camp, he met a boy named Shmuel, who had no hair, shoes, and was really skinny. They become best friends, and Bruno tries to help Shmuel with his terrible life in the camps and his will to survive.

This was one of my favorite books ever. The only thing I really didn't like about this book was the ending, which was reeeaaaalllyyy sad. And it makes it worse because this was a true story, but I loved it anyway. (: I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sad stories or about the Holocaust.

For Keeps

The book i read is called for keeps. The author is Natasha friend. It is about a sixteen year old girl who discovers her past is nothing like she has been told it has been for the last sixteen years.
Jose is the sixteen year old main character of the story. She lives with her mom, has a best friend named olivia, and plays soccer. Jose's mom had her when she was only sixteen or seventeen years old. And both her and her mom discover that they have had the past hidden from them. Also in the story, Jose has a boyfriend named Matt who she calls Riggs since his last name is rigsby. There is a strange yet romantic twist with what happens with riggs in the story.
I would only recommend this book to girls. I thought it was a good story but i also thought that it was sad . And accually it was a very kissy-lovey kind of story...like almost over the top. So i guess that i would reccomend this book to any one who likes romance novels.

Summer Ball

The book Summer Ball written by Mike Lupica is about Danny Walker again after he won the state championship who is know going to summer basketball camp. I choose this book because I wanted to know the ending of the story of Travel Team.

In the story Danny Walker was at first not so sure if he wanted to go to the basketball camp in Main. But eventually Danny's friends Ty and Will talk him into going and finds out that the beginning of the camp was fun but he could wait to see the rest of the camp flow out. So Danny gets picked to a summer team and his coach is the all famous Ed Powers and finds out that he is soon not like at all by coach Powers but has to learn how to deal with it.

In the story two things that I liked about the book is that Danny called his dad to tell him about the problem but his dad just told him to deal with it. Another was that Danny had a lot of challenges but always found away to deal with all of it. In the book there were not anything that I didn't like. This book would be appropriate for the age group of 9 and up. I would recommend this book to a friend. I would give this book to a person who likes to read sports books.

Travel Team

I chose to read Travel Team by Mike Lupica because i love every book he writes.

Travel Team is about a short kid named Danny Walker who has always been great at basketball but struggles with his height. His dad, Richie Walker, was a professional basketball and played for Syracuse in college, but he leaves his wife (danny's mom) and only visits occasionally. In his professional career, Richie Walker had a car accident that ended his career. When Danny Walker tries out for the town travel team, the same team that his dad had lead to the championship (and won), and gets cut because he's "too short", his dad comes back to stay and decides to make a travel team of his own for all the kids who got cut. This is a great book. I hope you like it.

i liked this book because i love basketball and i heard that Syracuse College was in it. i Recommend this to Josh porter because he likes basketball.
