The Vow

I read a book called The Vow. It was written by Kim & Krickett Carpenter, with Dana Wilkerson. It is now a movie that inspires many people. The Vow is based on a true story and true events that happened to the writers of this book. The Vow is mainly about how nothing can get in the way of true love, especially with God's help.

Kim and Krickett Carpenter have fallen in love and gotten married. Two months after their marriage they were on their way to visit relatives when they get into a tragic car crash. Kim has minor injuries but Krickett is rushed to the hospital. The crash has made her have a major head injury that most likely causes death. Krickett is a Christian and follows God through life. She has gotten Kim to be very religious also. Everyday Kim prayed that God would heal Krickett so she can get better and live, which God did. Just one thing...Krickett doesn't remember Kim. She doesn't remember that they met, fell in love, got engaged, and got married. This is devastating for Kim and he can't picture life without Krickett. Kim spends almost everyday hoping and praying Krickett will remember him. She starts to realize that she is falling in love with him "again". Kim and Krickett fall in love again and start a new life together in God's hands.

I liked many things about this book. I liked how it never got boring and it didn't make me want to stop reading. It was also interesting and detailed. I didn't dislike anything about this book. I would recommend this book to my friends and anyone who likes to read about everlasting love. This was probably one of the best books I have ever read. The Vow was a truly inspiring book and has made me look at life in a different way.

Water for Elephants

I recently read the novel Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, and it's now one of my favorite books! This novel has 331 pages in it, and it's copyright date is 2006. I chose to read this book because I had seen the movie and loved it, so I decided to read it. This story is about a young man named Jacob Jankowski, and how his life changed immensely when survival was the only option he had!

Jacob Jankowski, nearly a Cornell veterinary graduate, had his whole life turned upside down when he lost his parents to a car accident and had not a cent left to his name! After turning in his final exam to become a graduate blank, Jacob leaves town, and jumps a train! Little does he know that this is a train that carries the members of the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. This is a circus that will change Jacob forever. Here he runs into the psycho animal trainer August that is married to the lovely equestrian star Marlena. The moment Jacob lays eyes on her he falls in love! He also encounters a large friend, Rosie, who's an elephant! She is talented, and sweet. Jacob does everything he can to protect her from August, who beats her with the bull hook whenever something goes wrong. He quickly learns who he can trust, and uses this to his advantage. When August hits Marlena, Jacob is there to comfort her, and they become about as close as two people can be! Soon they realize that they're all one another has when the circus is in trouble, and everything seems to fall apart. They must now work together to survive!

Two things I liked about this book were that is was very descriptive, and always kept me interested and wanting to read more. I didn't dislike anything about this book, it was all around a fantastic read! I also would recommend this book to a friend and anybody who loves romantic and challenging novels. Water for Elephants is ranked at the top of my favorite book list and was an excellent read!

Night School Volume 1

Recently I decided to switch up my reading style.  I have been reccomended to read graphic novels.  I decided to start with the Night School books.
This book is mainly about an alternate universe type of world that changes day and night time.  The main charactcer is a girl whome they have not named yet.  She is fascinated by vampires.  She goes to a graveyeard to see a particular vampire dating a mortal.  Right when the two were about to kiss the vampire hinters showed up.  The hunters did not want them though.  They wanted the Rippers.  The Rippers are 10 times worse then the regulare vampires.  The all fight the Rippers, the main character gets bored and she goes home to find her sister missing.  That is where the book ended.
Three things I liked about this book was it was a quick read and it had beautiful pictures.  Also how it was very interesting.  I did not dislike anything about this book.  The reading eve of this book would have to be 10+.  I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes manga or anime.

Speak

A few days ago I read a book called Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.  This book was ok but not as good as I had hoped it would be.
Speak is mainly about a girl who is now an outcast.  She called the cops on a party.  She lost all of her friends by doing so.  She hates school but she learns to love her art teacher.  They bond and she finally meets a friend.
In the middle of this bookher friend ditches her for her old friends.  In the end she becomes very close with the art teacher and that is where the book ends.  3 things I liked about this book was it is a quick read and it was very funny at times.  Also how it was very heartfelt.  3 things I diddnt like about this book was it was boring at parts and slow moving.  Also how it was sad.  I think the reading level of this book would be 10+.  I would reccomend to anyone who likes drama.

Divergent

Recently I read a book called Divergent by Veronica Roth.  This book was by far the best book I have read this year.
The book is mainly about a girl named Beatrice a.k.a Tris.  In the begenning of the book the kids are tested to see what they will be and what they will do for the rest of their lives.  The choices are abgenation, factionless, dauntless, amity, erudite and candor.  When Tris goes into be tested she comes out Divergent.  Divergent means that your are not eliminated from all the choices but one.
At the choosing ceremony Tris' brother chooses to be an erudite.  Tris chooses dauntless.  Dauntless means they have no fear or anyone or anything.  This means scence their parents are a different faction they must leave their family.
In the dauntless training center they go through many stages.  In one stage she falls in love with the dauntless leader named Four.  She later finds out that Four is a Divergent as well.
In the end of this book the Erudite and Dauntless start a war with the abgenation.  Both of Tris' parents die and then she starts to date Four.
3 things I liked about this book was it is ramantis and it pulls you in.  Last how it was very suspenseful.  I realy did not disllike anything about this book at all.  I think the reading level of this book would have to be ages 13+.  I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes dystopian socities. :)

THE WIZARD HEIR

The title of this book is The Wizard Heir and the name of the author is Cinda Williams Chima.  This book is amazing in so many ways, it is filled with action, and has the perfect amount of suspense.  I chose this book because it is the second in the series and the first book was very good.
Seph McCauly is a very powerful wizard, but he is only 17 and has had no training.  Important bad wizards are trying to take control of his power. The warrior Jack's aunt has come to take him to a safe haven, were Jack and many other weir live, from the school where the wizard who was trying to take control of him was.  They get the help of Jack and his friends to help them fight their way into the safe-zone.
Two things I liked about this book were that it has a lot of fighting and a relation to modern day.  This book is appropriate for ages 12+ and would be liked by people who like Percy Jackson. I would highly recommend this book.

the hollow land

I read the hollow land by Amanda hocking. Tis book is about a girl named Remy who is trying to find her brother max while zombies have taken over the world. You turn in to a zombie by getting bitten of having their blood or spit in a open wound

“This is the way the world ends-not with a bang or a whimper but with zombies breaking down the back door”. Remy is in a quarantine one of the last places on earth that still have people in it. Zombies have taken over the world and Remy wants to find her brother. The quarantine is taken over by zombies and Remy and Harlow escaped. Harlow is one of Remy’s friends. After a while of walking Remy finds a lion and named her Ripley. They come across a town and go in random houses looking for food and water. Remy meets two guys named Lazlo and blue. They all are trying to get to a bigger quarantine . Remy thinks that her brother is at this quarantine.  Remy’s brother is immune to the zombie virus so he is getting a bunch of tests run on him. Remy gets in a big fight with zombies and gets bit. She never turns in to a zombie so she decides to take his place before all the tests kill him. When they all get to the quarantine remy gets her brother out and takes his place even thought she will most likely die trying.

I really liked this book. This is a great book for girls ages 11 and up who like bloody gory action romance books. One thing I likes about this book is all the action. One thing i a did not like about this book is that it leaves you hanging at the end and they could have made at least another book but there isn’t one.

Mockingjay

I read Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins. It is the third, and final book of The Hunger Games series. I chose to read this book because I read the other two books in the series and I wanted to find out how the whole story ended. Mockingjay is mainly about everything that happens after Katniss Everdeen finds out that there is no District 12.

District 12, Katniss's home, has been destroyed. District 13, not believed to be real, is real, and now the home of Katniss, her family, and many other people of Panem. The districts of Panem are under attack by the Capitol, yet the Capitol will soon be under attack by Katniss, and some of the other rebels. The war is going on, and they are on their way to the Capitol. Katniss is the rebels Mockingjay, also a sign of rebellion. She has to put everything else aside except her one mission...to kill President Snow.

Two things I liked about this book is how everything was so interesting, and it had me wondering constantly what was going to happen next. I didn't dislike anything about this book. I would recommend this book to my friends and anyone who likes adventures. Mockingjay was really interesting, and a great end to The Hunger Games series!

Storm Mountain

The book, Storm Mountian, is a very good book. Written by Tom Birdseye. The genre of this book is realistic ficion. I chose this book because the cover did interest me.
In this book the main character Cat Taylor has some rouble some times. Her dad and his wing brother died climbing Storm Mountain. Her dad's brother wanted their ashes to be spread so one night when Cat's mom is out of town her cousin comes over. He tells her thatthey are going to spread their fathers' ashes, at 5 in the morning. She disagreed, so she was collecting idence out of all the files that her dad gave her to stop her cousin, Ty. She then falls asleep and Ty is already climbing to the summit. Onceshe gets her dog and gear she goes running after Ty to stop him, and they run into trouble. Tey run into potientially fatal danger, but thats the most important part of the book so I won't give it away.
A few things that I liked about this book is that it is very possible for this to be true or happen, and that it wasn't confusing. Although it was a good book i did have some unfavorable parts to it. One is that it left you hanging a lot, and that it took awhile to get ineresting. I would say this book is appropriate for 5-8th graders. I would very mch reccomend this book to a friend. People wh like to read suspense books would like this book alot

Don't Close your Eyes

The book I read was Don't Close Your Eyes. This book was written by Lawrence Kelter. Don't Close Your Eyes has a crime drama genre. I chose this book because I like crime/mystery books.

This book tells the story of an NYPD detective Stephanie Chalice. Stephanie and her partner Lido must track a psychopathic serial killer. Stephanie turns to a germ-a-phobic psychiatrist, Nigel Twain, for help. As the detectives try to solve their case Nigel does a little detective work of his own. Nigel tries to find the truth about Stephanie's past. In doing so, Nigel puts the missing pieces of the puzzle into place and helps solve the case.

One thing I liked about this book was the character Stephanie Chalice. I liked her character because she is an independent woman working along with the boys. She proves that she can do any job just as good as any boy. Another thing I liked about this book was when Nigel overcame his germ-a-phobia. I liked this because he did the one thing that scared him the most to save a friend. This book is appropriate for people 14 years and up. Anyone who likes detective stories with many twists and turns will like this book.

The Big Empty Paradise City

This book was written by J.B. Stephens. This book's genre is Sci-Fi. I chose this book because I read the first book, The Big Empty Strain 7, and LOVED it!

Keely wanted to have a perfect world again, but the world was suffering from the ill effects of Strain 7, or just 'SEVEN', so she helped Novo Mundum [which when translated means "New World"] by getting supplies. Those supplies were: GPS chips, gasoline, and other things that I can't remember.

Two things that I REALLY liked about the book were the avtion and the suspense. Twoi things that I DID NOT like about the book was all the violence and death. I read this book because it was the second book to the Strain Seven series. I would recomeend this book to my friends. This book is suitable for 12+ year olds.

THE WARRIOR HEIR

The Warrior Heir was written by Cinda Williams Chima.  This book is action-packed and filled with excitement.  I chose this book because I have read others by this author.
In the world of the Weir you can be either a wizard, a warrior, a sorcerer, or an enchanter.  Jack, at 16, has just found out he is a warrior. Being a warrior is very though for him because warriors are very rare and they compete in tournaments( fights to the death) held by the wizards, the most powerful of the weir.  He is being hunted down to compete in a tournament against his girlfriend...but he doesn't know it yet.
Two things I liked about this book were that it has lots of fighting and that it had a present day setting.  This book is appropriate for people ages 12+.  This book would be liked by people who like fantasy books.

Fruit Basket Volume 1

Recently I read a book called Fruit Basket.  This book was by Natsuki Takaya and I loved it.
This book was mainly about a girl named Torhu who meets the Sohmas.  The Sohmas are magical people who are posessed by the spirits of the
Zodiacs who are different animals.  They will transform when they are hugged by the opposite sex.  Torhu is an orphan whose mother had died when she was a little girl.  She was living in a tent until she met the Sohmas who generously offered her to live with them if she was basically a maid.  She accepts and she becomes closer with Yuki the person who invited her to stay in the first place.  Torhu finds out their secret and is very eager to ask who the other animals are.  That is where the book ends.
Three things I liked about this bookk was it was a short read and it was funny. Also that the pictures were great.  I did not dislike anything about this book. I would say the reading level for this book would be 11+.  I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes anime. :)

'Eona' The Sequel to 'Eon'

The book that I have read is "Eona." This book was written by: Alison Goodman who lives in Australia. The genre of the book is Fantasy, Battle, a bit of Romance, and Mythology and Chinese customs; it also talks about Dragons, war, magical abilities, and much, much more.

Eona The Last Dragoneye by: Alison Goodman
The Sequel to ''Eon' Dragoneye Reborn'
Eona wanted to save the Dragons, but she doesn't know how, so she has Lady Dela, a contraire, translate the Woman Script inside for her. Lord Ido wants all of the Dragon power for himself, but Lady Eona won't let him, so he fights her and plays games to try to get it. Lady Dela wants to make Ryko happy, but he lives by his own rules, so she tries even harder to help him. Prince Kygo wants the best for his kingdom and wants Eona's body to belong to him, but he has to save the kingdom and dragons to impress her, so he joins the resistance to help get rid of High Lord Sethon.

Two things that I liked about the book were the suspense [MAJOR!] and the action in battle and Eona training with the dragons. Two things i didn't like are that there was so much killing and a little to much LOVE! [YUCK!] I think that the appropriate reading level for this book is 13/14+. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. The people that like graphic novels would like this because it has so much descriptive language.

The Cage!

The Cage by Ruth Minsky Sender is a novel about the Jewish who survive against the Germans. Riva Minska, the main character, loses her family and lives with nothing more than a book for her poetry.
Riva has lived through think and thin. She was locked up in a cage for almost three years of her life. She was a special Jew, that guards loved her poetry and her strength. One day everything happened so fast and she was saved.
The book has an unexpected ending so everyone should read it. I liked this book because it interested me and it had short three page paragraphs. I loved this book and I hope who ever reads it does too.

Maximum Ride Volume 2

Recently I read a book called Maximum Ride Volume 2.  I read this book because I thought the first book in the sereies was awesome.  This book was overall great.
This bok was mainly about a girl named Maximum who is hiding out from people who are trying to capture her.  She has just gotten her sister Angel back and is hiding out in a cave becuase there are people trying to attack her and her family to take her back to a lab where they can conduct expeirments on them.  She and her family end up going out to eat at a fancy restruant.  They end up ordering alot of food and getting caught by the waiter for trying to steal.  They end up flying out of the restruant and getting tons of pistures taken of them.  They then go back to the cave and get attacked so they go to a hospital.  At the hospital they meet a woman who offers to keep them in her house.  She then finds out what they are.  She finds a chip is Maxes arm that shows where she is at all times.  She wants it out but the lady refuses. That is where the book ends.
Three things I like about this book was it was a short read and the pictures were really descriptave.  I also liked that it was funny and suspenseful.  Three things I did not like about this book was that it was agrivating at how some of the characters acted.  Also how it was a cliff hanger.  The readin level for this book would have tio be 11+.  I would reccomend this to anyone who likes anime or suspenseful books.

Radiance

Recently I read a book called Radiance by Alyson Noel.  This book was great and it was really touching.
This book was mainly about a girl named Riley who has died and now is in a place called the Here and Now.  Riley has just come over hte bridge to Here and Now and has met the council who decides what she has to do for the remainder of her time in the Here and Now.  Riley gets chosen to be a soul catcher who are people who try to get ghosts that refuse to cross over to cross over.  Riley get a guide named Bohdi who thinks she can not get the Radiant boy who has been trapped in the one house in London for hundreds of years. Riley then makes a bet with Bohdi that she can get The Radiant boy to come over to thte Here and Now.  Riley has a frightening trip through the house trying to find the Radant to bt she does it.  It takes some persuading but she gets the Radiant boy to cross over.  Riley won the bet and that is where the book ends.
Three things that I like about this book was it was touching and interesting.  I also like that it weas sweet. I did not dislike anything about this book. The reading level of this book would have to be a 10 to 12 age range.  This book would be reccomended to anyone who likes suspense and after life stories.

The Hunger Games

The book I read was the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This book is futeristic. I choose this book for a few reasons. One reason I choose this book was because I had heard by a lot of people that it was a awesome book. Another reason why I choose this book is because a teacher had recommended it to me
The reaping was coming up soon and everyone in all 12 districts were putting on their most fancy cloths for this event. During the reaping one boy and one girl from each district had to be given to the capital. There names would be drawn out of the reaping ball. Katniss, around thirteen years old, wore her mothers old blue dress. When the name drawings began Katniss'es sister was drawn and so was another boy from her district, Peeta. Katniss could not let her sister go into the Hunger Games, a fight to death. Katniss had voulentered for her sister. Not many people did volunter. Katniss and Peeta along with many others from other districts were soon to aboard a train and go to the capital. Were at the capital they would meet their styilists, Cinna and Portia. The styilists would make Peeta and Katniss starts when they were first presented. All the cameras were focused on them. Later they would start there training sessions. During training they could learn many skills from snares to weapons. On the last day of the training sessions each tribute had a change, in private, to show the gamemakers what they knew most. Katniss of course showed them archery. She was an excellent archer. They would all later before the games began recieve a training score. Katniss recieved an eleven. When the games started they were to reamin on a platform for sixty seconds. When the time was up Katniss was distracted by Peeta and missed her chance to gather the much needed supplies at the center. Slowly one by one tributed were killed off. The killed were each shown at the end of the night lighted up in the sky folowing by the anthem. It came down to that one pair, due to a twist in the game, that one. Read the rest of the book to find out the rest.
I liked many things about The Hunger Games. One thing was how you were left in suspension a could of times. Another is that the book was hard to put down at times. This is appropriate for the age group of 11-adult. It would require a medium reading level. I would recommend this book to a friend. If you like mystery and suspension i would recommend this book to you.

Maximum Ride Volume 1

Recently I read a book called Maximum Ride by James Patterson.  This book was phenominal and i couldnt stop reading it.
This book was mainly about a girl named Maximum (Max for short) who was trying to save her little sister named Angel.  But Maximum and her sister are not normal people.  They are creatures and they have wings.  That is why they captured Angel.  Max and her brothers ans sisters go to look for Angel and at one point they get split up.  Her sister and brother stay in a cave while Max continues to look for Angel.  They go through many hardships and finally overcome their challenge with getting their sister back.  But meanwhile when Max is looking for her brothers and her sisters they get attacked by this one person who tries to deystroy them.  She always overcomes it and in the end she finds her brothers and sisters.  They decide to stay in the cave so they do not risk getting killed.  That is where the book ended.
Three things I liked about this book was it was a quick read and the pictures were wll drawn.  I also liked that it was suspenseful.  Three things i did not like was that at times it got confusing and it was sad.  Last I disliked that it was too short anad it left you hanging, I think this book is reccomended for ages 10+.  I would reccomend this book for anyone who likes anime.

North

North was written by Donna Jo Napoli. North is a fictional story. I chose to read this book because I was looking for a suspenseful story.

In this story, Alvin wants his overprotective mother to leave him alone. So when she has Mrs.Keeys walk Alvin to school when Alvin was 12 years old. That's when Alvin realizes that he cant deal with that any longer. So he leaves....
I liked that this book had such a good plot and very good characters. I don't like that Alvin left his mom at the age of 12. This book is appropriate for ages 10+. If you like suspenseful books then you will defiantly like this book.

Scrawl

The book I read was Scrawl by Mark Shulman. This book is about a boy who is a bully and has to write about himself and why he bullies people. I chose this book because I like reading about bullies and seeing what they have to say for themselves.

Tod doesn't want to write about himself but he has to because his teacher is making him write why he bullies other students and about his life.

One thing I liked about this book was that it was very descriptive and it also was the book for me. Theres nothing I didn't like about this book. This age group is appropriate for 13-any age. I think any people who have big hearts would like this book.

The Scorch Trials

I recently read a book called The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. The bopoks genre is science fiction. I read this book because I just read the first book in the series, The Maze Runner.

Thomas and the rest of the Glader wake up to find that thier rescuers are dead. Teresa is missing and in her place is a boy named Aris. They find out that they have to cross the Scorch, the hottest, dryest and most deserted place on the planet. If they reach the safe haven in time they will be rewarded with the cure to the flare, which they now know for sure they have. Will they make it to the safe haven and get the cure to the flare?

There were a lot of things that i liked about the book. On thing is that there is a lot of detail. I also liked that the chapters were mostly short. This made the book easier to read. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes adventure and suspense.

Beautiful Creatures

The book I read was "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I read this book because my favorite genre is realistic fiction or mystical romance. I would recommend this book to anyone that liked the Twlight Saga.
In the small town of Gatlin Ethan Wate is haunted by nightmares of a beautiful girl he's never met. His mother died about the same time the dreams started and ever since his father never leaves his house. One day a new student arrives at school, Lena Duchannes, and she happens to be the girl Ethan is always dreaming about.
Mamma Ethans house keeper is a card reader and is very superstitious. She doesnt want Ethan to see Lena because she believes she has to do with dark magic. She makes things to keep Ethan safe from dark spirits, but little does Ethan know she knows more about Lena than she is telling him.
Lena Duchannes moves to the small town of Gatlin to live with her uncle, Macon Ravenwood. Everyone believes she is a witch because Ravenwood Mannor is haunted and who would go to live with someone who has never left there houe in years? No one likes her at school and after she breaks a window, with her powers Ethan discovers she has later on but no one knows she has, they try to ban her from school.
Two things i liked about this book is how well it leads into the main events, it doesnt rush but also doesnt take to slow. The author gave you enough infrmation to explain what was going on but made you want to know more.
One thing i didnt like was seeing parts of the past, it helped you understand why things were happening but i felt it was a waste of time. I would recommend this to anyone who likes spooky things. The age group that this book is appropriate for i'd say it 13 and up.

A Northern Light

I read A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly. This book is about a girl's dream to become a published author. I chose this book because it sounded interesting to me.
Mattie Gokey wanted to go to college and become a published author, but after her mother's death it seems impossible. Mattie's mother made her promise never to leave her brother, three sisters, and her father. Then Mattie's brother Lawton left after having a fight with her father. All of Mattie's dreams are slowly just becoming dreams and no longer becoming a reality. She has the everything she needs, the money, the acceptance letter, even a place to stay, but it is all worthless due to that promise and the disapproval of her father and Royal, the man Mattie plans on marrying. When she gets a job at the Glenmore hotel, a women named Grace Brown asks her to burn a pile of letters. Later that day Grace Brown's body is pulled out of the river after she supposedly drowned. Mattie reads the letters and finds out the true story of Grace's death. Mattie must decide whether to leave her family, the man of her dreams Royal, and everything she has ever known and go to college, or stay knowing the real story of Grace Brown but never being able to let it out.
One of the things I liked about this book is the suspense. I also liked all the unexpected turns the book takes. One of the things I didn't like was that it ended kind of suddenly and I wished the author had continued to write. Another thing I didn't like was it got confusing at times because it kept going from the present back to Mattie's past. I think this book is appropriate for anybody over the age of 12 because it is very graphic at times and the author doesn't hold back at all with her descriptions of certain things. Also this book contains a lot of big and confusing words so you have to be able to understand them in order to understand the book. I would defiantly recommend it to a friend or anyone who likes books that take place in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The Future of Us

The book I read was The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. This book takes place in 1996 and two teens, Emma and Josh, discover Facebook and their future selves in 2011. I chose this book because Morgan Buck suggested it to me.(:

In the book, Emma is one of the few teens who have a computer in the '90s. Josh brings her a CD-ROM that leads them straight to Facebook. They see their future selves, who they marry, their kids, their friends' future lives and everything else that's happened within the 15 years. Although when they see information about themselves they don't like, they purposely do something drastic in their time period  to cause a chain reaction and have their future change as well. Romance between Emma, Josh and other characters plays a big role in the book, as well.

One  thing I like about this book was that it had to with Facebook, because I love Facebook.(: Also, that it still had a cute love story! One thing I didn't like is that the whole plot was just that Emma and Josh found Facebook and Emma didn't like her future so she purposely changed things to never make her marry him but it was written like it was an everyday life so it got really boring at times. Ages 14 and up would be appropriate for this book because the main characters are teenagers so there are drugs and sex and what not. But, the reading level would be appropriate for, like, 9 year olds;it was really easy to read. I wouldn't really recommend this book to anybody. The only interesting parts were that you could see the future and the romance.

Dash & Lily's Book Of Dares

I finished a book called "Dash & Lily's Book Of Dares" by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan. It is a realistic fiction book. I chose this book because it was recommended to me by the librarian.
Lily, one of the main characters, wants to find a perfect friend that shares the same interests as her. But, she realizes that she isn't the only person that wants or not wants that. Her grandpa is very against that she starts talking to a guy and he strictly enforces her not to. But this year, she has her chance to change that. Her grandpa is away at Florida and her parents are in a vacation. The only person that is in charge of her is her brother. But, her brother tells her that she is on her own. So, her brother comes up with the idea of starting a conversation between her and a person that she doesn't know yet but might later. Dash, the other main character, is the guy that she talks to between the journal. In the journal they express all of their ideas and feelings. Dash and Lily then end up close friends but every thing that happened in between their other friendship is all a mystery that a reader can find in the book.
Two things that I liked about the book is that it is very descriptive and not long. Age group of this book would be 10+. The reading level would be 4/10. I would recommend it to a friend. A person would like this book if they like reading.

Letters to a Bullied Girl

The book That I chose is called Letters to a Bullied Girl and Its a true story. This girl named Olivia Gardner was abused in many ways and people from all around the world wrote letters to her.

Olivia wanted to have friends and enjoy her life but she couldnt without being bullied. So these 2 sisters wrote to her and soon everyone else did too writing about if they were bullied or just saing a friendly note to stay strong.

Two things I liked about this book is that there are lots of people who stood up for this girl and also I liked that she had so much support from her family and people around the world. Tow things I didn't like was that this is a true story and its very hard to think that this happenes to lots of people every day. Another thing I didnt like about this book is the stories that people wrote about being bullied because it was very emotional. I would recommened this to a friend in a heartbeat. People who have open hearts and are nice qould enjoy this book very much.

Long Shot

The book Long Shot is a book that was written by Mike Lupica. In this book you will read about a kid named Pedro who struggles against one of his so called friends who turns on him unexpectedly.

In this book Pedro was on the sixth grade basketball team who didn't picture himself as a play maker but more of a team player. So to stand out in the crowd a little more he decides to run for president of the grade against the most popular kid in the grade Ned who was also the best on the basketball team. Then Ned just started to get on everyone's nerves and Pedro finally mans up and tells Ned that hes not the only person on the court.

I liked many things about the book. There were not two things that I didn't like about this book. This is a good book for the ages of 11 and up. I would recommend this book to one of my friends. The kind of people who would like this book are more of sporty people.

Dear John

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks is a fiction romance novel. I chose to read it because it looked like a good book and was recommended by Mrs. Henry.
John Tyree is in the army and while on leave, he meets a girl named Savannah. This is the story of them falling in love and their time together. When John has to go back, Savannah is in tears and knows it will be hard. They have to make it through that to know their love will last.
I liked this book because the story behind it was good and it was easy to understand. I disliked that the chapters were very long. I would rate this a 9/10 and recommend it to girls who are fans of romance novels.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod Eighth Grade Bites

The book Eighth Grade Bites introduces Vladimir Tod who is possibly a normal teenager to the human eye. In the book he is living with his mothers best friend Nelly who Vlad calls "Aunt Nelly". Vlad lost his parents in a house fire when he was 8. The twist with Vlad's life is he is a vampire. His father was a vampire and his mother was a human. So Vlad was half vampire and half human. Vlad's friend Henry know his secret because when Vlad was eight he also bit Henry and made Henry what is called a "Drudge". Things turn for the worst when a vampire named "D'albo" is hunting for him. some thing good happens as well Vlad meets his Uncle Otis. Who is a vampire as well Otis takes over a teaching job at Vlad's school. Otis ends up telling Vlad about being his uncle. Vlad has to fight off D'ablo who actually hired Otis to spy on Vlad, but Otis twisted D'ablo plot.

I would recommend this book to people that like the books about the outcast and vampires. This book holds great stories that become a high school life time, that you get to share with Vlad. Vlad goes through adventures and dangerous dramatic quest through out the whole series.

I think that this book is great with great potential of receiving awards if more people read it. i think that this book is perfect for almost anyone. so in conclusion Eighth Grade Bites is aa book you should take the chance of reading.
