Dewey

I read a book called "DEWEY". The author of this book is VICKI MYRON with Bret Witter. This book is mainly about how one cat changed and inspired many peoples' lives, especially Vicki Myron's. I chose this book because when I saw the cover I thought it looked interesting because I like animals and when I read the back of the book I thought it would be a very inspiring book because on the cover it said it is about Dewey's inspiring legacy.

DEWEY is about a cat called Dewey Readmore Books who was shoved in the Spencer Public Library's return book slot. Nobody knew that this cat would be so inspiring, caring, friendly, and most of all...loving. The town of Spencer was going through a rough time. So many people wanted to have good lives, but what were they supposed to do? So, a lot of people were happy that Dewey came to the library. He came at such a good time because he was a friend to everyone, and at that time in Spencer, what most people needed was...a friend. For 18-19 years Dewey was a friend to everyone,he did a lot of funny things, and he became world famous, until he eventually got too old. You will have to read the book to find out what happened to him. So many people will never forget Dewey Readmore Books, the cat who was shoved into a library return book slot, changed the town of Spencer, became loved by millions of people, became world famous, and lastly...the cat who was just truly amazing.

Two things I liked about this book are how it was very inspiring and very detailed. Two things I didn't like about the book are that is is sad in some parts and that it may sometimes be hard to understand. I think this book is age appropriate for anyone who is 10 and up because there is a lot to understand in order to get what the book means. I would reccommend this book to my friends, and I think anyone who likes animals would enjoy reading DEWEY!
