I just read the book Ramp Rats written by Liam O`Donnell illustrated by Mike Deas. This book is bout a skateborder wanting 2 skate at the skate park, but it is controlled by bullies. I choose this book b/c umm... haha b/c I like action sport stuff like tht.
Benny lived in a town where skatbording is as bad as dealing drugs. Its forbidden in the town. the only place where you can skate is at the skatepark, but there is a problem. A gang of skateboarding bullies that wont let him and his friends skate there. Benny`s dad is dating this woman from outta town and she has a son Marcus. His mom is staying at Bennys house for the summer. Marcus,benny, and his friend Pema bulit a lil ramp and a grind rail and now they have a lil skatepark for theirselfs. Then one saturday there was a event called Lake Jam where Crush(the leader of the bullies) and Benny will have a skate off. Of course benny won.
One thing i liked about this book is that this problem sounds like lunch you cant here so you got to go sit somewhere else.
