Brisingr

The book Brisingr is the third book of the Inheritance series. This book is about a dragon rider named Eragon and his dragon named Saphira in a place called Alegasia. This book starts off in the empire of Alegasia where an immortal tyrannical dictator rules (he doesn’t like Eragon) in which Eragon and his cousin are waiting until morning to kill the kings bounty hunters (Razac) who captured Roran’s girlfriend, Katrina and her father. They kill one of the Razac and Saphira killed both of their weird flying monster things. Eragon made everyone leave so he could slay the last Razac and to keep his secret of finding Katrina’s father in a cell. Eragon went down the mountain he was on and let Katrina’s father walk in a certain direction to DuweldenVarden using magic. Eragon then set off back out of the Empire. Eventually he made it to a town where he met his friend Arya. They then continued back out of the Empire. When they made it back Eragon had three days before he would leave Saphira again. Roran and Katrina got married during this time period. Eragon then left to go on his mission to go to the dwarves to solve the conflict over who should become the next dwarf king. Roran got into the army, too. Eragon broke his sword while being attacked in the dwarf realm. He then knew that he would need a real Rider’s sword.

How will Eragon get a rider’s sword? How will Roran get back safely to his pregnant wife? How will Eragon defeat his brother Murtagh? Some of these questions will be answered if you read this book. One thing I liked about this book was the action in it. Another thing I liked was the irony at every turn. One thing I didn’t like about this book was the occasional lack of description and that the ending hasn’t come in the third book.
