The Mission

I read The Mission by Jason Myers. I chose this book because i first read his book Exit Here and i really liked it. This book is about a 15 year old boy named Kaden Norris who has a rather interesting summer.

Kadens older brother Kenny had just been killed in Iraq. Kenny was Kadens best friend and was supposed to take Kaden to visit their cousin James in San Francisco. Kadens mother had been very depressed and really got into drinking after Kenny had been killed. Kaden received a letter in the mail that Kenny had written just in case he died. He talked to him about books and how he wanted to take him to visit James. So Kaden decided to ask his parents if he could still go. They agreed as long as he got his grades up....than Kaden had the summer of his life.

This is one of my favorite books I've read so far. It's for someone mature, not people who find sex and drugs funny. I would read this book again anytime. :)
