The Hunger Games

I read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy. This book is about the troubles one girl must face when she is one of the tributes in the Hunger Games. I choose this book because a lot of people recommended it to me.
Katniss Everdeen wanted to protect her sister, Prim with all it took, but she never expected that would mean throwing herself into the Hunger Games. After Prim was chosen to be one of the tributes from District 12 to be entered in the Games, Katniss volunteered to take her place. Now she has to make it out of the arena alive so she can return to her sister and her mother. And she will do this in whatever means necessary, including pretending to fall in love with the other tribute from District 12.
I liked the suspense in this book, and the unexpected turns. I also liked how determined Katniss was to make it back to her family alive. I didn't like how sad the book was at times. I think this book would be appropriate for people older that 10 years old. I also think really anybody could enjoy it because the book has so many different genres and just the fact that was a really good book.
