Schooled by Gordon Korman

I read the book, Schooled by Gordon Korman. The story is about culture shocked hippie, named Capricorn Anderson. Cap for short. He lives with a saintly social worker, and her bratty daughter, Sophie. Capricorn has to live with the social worker, until his hippie grandma, Rain, recovers from her hip injury. When Cap goes to C-Average Middle School, Zach Powers' world is turned upside down.
Claverage (nicknamed C-Average) Middle School, you have the erds. The jocks. The cheerleaders. All the cliques forced under 1 roof for over 6 hours.Zach Powers, the biggest jerk in the hole school, Naomi, a cheerleader who takes intrest in Cap, and Lena, head cheerleader all plan to elect Cap for class president. Its not as good as you think either. At C Average Middle, when your elected president, you know your a loser. Everyone but Cap, knows this. So when he wins for president, every student tries to mess with him. He's oblivious to the taunting. All the kids mess with him though. One kid said he had to learn EVERYONES name. So he learns everyone's name. The Halloween Dance comes up, and Rain, recovers. Cap moves back to his Farm. The Halloween Dance no longer has a commitee. The dance is canceled. But everyone thinks Cap is dead because Darrel punches him in the face on accident. Darrel tried to punch Zach, but missed, and hit Cap.
Will Cap make the dance? Will he get the girl? Will he finally cut his afro off? Read it to find out! :) I chose this book because hippies are cool. I read it because, I was bored. I really liked some parts, and i disliked some parts. It was a verrrrry easy read. I'd reccomend this to people who love HIPPIES. I rate this book a 4/5.
