Bree Taner runs away from her father and nearly starves to death until a vampire named Riley asks to take her to get some diner, later he takes her to someone she now konws by the name her . Little does she know that this is the beggining of a new, short, painful life that will change her forever. Later, while on a hunting trip gone bad, she follows another vampire known as Diego to escape the mess some idiots made. She and Diego become surprisingly close friends for only one night together. Upon retuning home, they discover a destroyed house because the other young vampires were fighting amongst themseleves and burned it down. They become curious when they are messing around and become exposed to the sun and they don't burn to ashes - because they have always been told they would burn up when exposed to direct sunlight. They become a secret nija club to find out what is going on.
Something that was one of my favorites about this book was the suspence. This is a book that once you pick it up you will not be able to set it down and you will often get in trouble for when you are caught reading it during class when you are not aloud to. My second favorite thing about this story is the action in it you will often find yourself with an odd expression on and not know why. One thing that I did not like about this book is the way it ends, it just leaves you hanging there. Another thing that I was not a fan of was the lenght of the book I wish it was longer. This book is age appropriet for ten years and up, I would definatly recomend this book to a friend. Boys, girls, animal lovers, and definatly Twilight fans would all LOVE this book.
