A Child Called "It"

I read the book "A Child Called 'It'" by Dave Pelzer. This book is about a boy who is brutally abused by his mother and tries to find his courage to survive. I chose this book because i saw it on someones blog and it sounded really good!:)

From ages 8-12, David Pelzer is abused by his mother. He is known as "The boy" or "It" around the house, and no one even cares for his existence. His mother does the most cruel things to him that most people couldn't even imagine... and even worse things when his father isn't home. She would rarely ever give him anything to eat and he sleeps on a cot in the basement every night. He was never allowed to play with his brothers or be included with anything. It wasn't always like this, however. Before he was 8, david and his family was like the happiest family in the world. They would do everything together.. and it always seemed like the perfect family. But once his mother started to drink alcohol and became lazy, that's when everything changed. And the worst part was, his father rarely did anything to help him.

This sounds like a pretty violent book, right? Well, the ending is good and once you read the epilouge it gets even better. One thing I liked about this book was the ending. Another thing I liked was how it's a pretty easy read and its easy to follow. One thing I didn't like was how it gave you the ending at the beginning, I think the ending should be at the end:) haha. Another thing I didn't like was how sad and violent it was. Some things were okay, but other things were just out of control insane crazy violent details that makes you go WOW! I liked this book a lot, it just wasn't really one of my favorites. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading sad stories and can handle crazy stuff. :)
