Catching Fire

The book I chose to read was Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This book's genre is Science Fiction. I chose this book because I read The Hunger Games which is the first book in The Hunger Games Trilogy, so I read the second book in the Trilogy.
Catching Fire is all about Katniss who is now 17 and has come back home from winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games. This is when Peeta finds out that Katniss' love for him was exaggerated for the audience during the games. The day they were scheduled to leave on Peeta and Katniss' "Victory Tour", Katniss ges a visit from President Snow who tells Katniss she needs to convince him and all of Panem that she is madly in love with Peeta sonce there has been riots in a couple of districts. Peeta and Katniss get on the train to go on their Victory Tour and first go to district 11, the home of Rue's and Thresh's Dstrict, both Peeta and Katniss give speeches and the a man whistles a tune that makes the rest of the crowd to salute Katniss and gets the man shot by peacekeepers. Then they finish their tor without anymore speeches and ends up in the Capitol with a riot starting in district 8 and 12. This makes the Capito angry and doubles the security and brings in new Peacekeers in 12. Then when Katniss and Peeta return home it is a new year and the annual Hunger Games is in swing, and this year it is a  "Quarter Quell" year, which happens every 25 years, the winning triutes who are living from each district will be selected to go in this Hunger Games. Katniss, being the only girl who has wo from her district is selected as tribute. Haymitch is also choosen but Peeta volunteers to protect Katniss. Read the book to find out what happens during the "Quarter Quell."
One thing I didn't like about the book was it was so long, but I liked everything else about the book. I think ages 12 and up are age appropriate for this book. I would recommend this to any of my friends who have already read the first book the Hunger Games. Anyone who likes action and loves to read will love this book.
