Blood Wounds

Recently I read a book called Blood Wounds by Susan Beth Pfeffer. I could not put down this book and finished it within 2 days.
This book is mainly about a girl named Willa whose dad left her when she was a little baby.  One day her mothers friend name Faye called and left a few urgent sounding messages on her phone.  She said things about a man named Budge and how she needed to talk to Willas mother.  Willa got nervous and called her mother husband Jack.  At that point the police came because Jack called them. Ella was so upset she had to go to the bathroom and throw up.
Later in the story Budge came to their house and he was trying to kill them because they had left their house for safety purposes.  He had killed his wife and three kids.  The rumor going around is that he had krissis head (the other little girl) in his hand.
After that Willa went to Pryor, which was the hometown of her mother and budge and she went to their funeral.  She got very upset when Krissis first grade teacher came on and sang her favorite song which was the same as Budge used to sing to Willa.  After that she went to their graves and payed her respects.  Last she went home and admitted to cutting herself.  Jack then decided to adopt her and that is where the book ended.
Two things I liked about it was that it kept you on the edge of your seat.  Also I like that it was very true and may have happened before.  Two things I diddnt like were how her sisters acted.  Last is that it was kind of long and drawn out.
This book can be very disturbing at parts so i reccomend it for kids 11+.  The reading level would probally be a 6 out of 10.  I would reccomend this to anyone who likes books about mystery and suspense.
