Torn is the fourth book in the book series : The missing. This book was written by Margaret Petterson Haddix. Torn is a fantasy-mystery-thriller. I chose this book because I read the first three books and wanted to finish the series.
In this book Jonah and his sister Katherine embark on a journey through time. They travel to 1611 and end up on Henry Hudson's ship. There they have to outsmart Second. Second is a time-traveler who sabotaged their last trip through time. Thanks to him Jonah and Katherine must figure out how to fix time and save their friends who are stuck back in 1605. Yet again they find that their friends fate depends on them. Things go from bad to worse when they are forced to help Second. In order to save their friends Jonah and Katherine will have to blindly figure out how original time was supposed to go.
One thing I liked about this book was that Jonah and Katherine are constantly faced with some problem. They would figure one thing out and then would have another problem to overcome. Another thing I liked about this book was that it was a new topic (time-travel) that I hadn't read about before. One thing I didn't like about this book was at times it would get a little confusing. Sometimes you would have to read things more than once to understand them. This book is appropriate for 8-12 year olds. Anyone who likes mysteries, adventure, and time-travel would like this book.
