Burned

Recently I read a book by Ellen Hopkins called Burned.  This book was wonderful and I loved it.
Burned was mainly about a girl named Pattyn who grows up in a religous yet abusive home.  She is not allowed to date or see anyone.
She has gotten  into a lot of trouble lately and her mother is pregnant.  Her dad says she must go live with her aunt until the baby is born.  So she is forced to leave for nine months and stay at her aunts ranch.
One day she meets a boy named Ethan.  They get very close in a short amount of time.  They start dating and spending alone time together.  Her aunt notices what is going on and she gives her a talk about how men only want sex.
Pattyn decides to have sex with him anyway.  They have it quite a few times before finding out a condom ripped and Pattyn is now pergnant.  Her aunt does not know.  In a few months she ends up going home with her father.  She couldnt stand it so she called Ethan with the cell phone her aunt got her.  Ethan comes to pick her up at the end of her school day.
Suddenly the police start chasing them and they skid off the road.  Pattyn wakes up in the hospital and learns that her baby is dead as well as Ethan.
She is distraught and that is where it ends.
Two things I liked about this book was it was very inspirational.  Also that is romantic.  What I diddnt like was that it was a cliffhanger.  Also how sad it was.  I would think the reading level would be grades 9 through 11.  I would reccomend this to anyone who likes romance and or sad stories.
