Coraline By Neil Gaiman

The book that i read is Coraline. The author of this book is Neil Gaiman. This book is a mystery and very suspenseful book and will leave you hanging at certain points. I chose this book for a few reasons. One reason was that i like to read books that will leave me hanging in suspense so that i will read the book as soon as i can. Another reason i chose this book is because my elementary library teacher, Mrs.Morales, had recommended this book to me a few years ago.
Coraline the main character in this book has two loving parents that are busy a lot. They recently had to move and now live in this apartment with one other neighbor. Therefor Coraline was always left by herself most of the day. Her mom would give her tidily things to do during the day to try and keep her busy, but Coraline would often "wonder" off from her tasks and go and check-out other parts of the house. She even a few times would go and visit her neighboring tenant or person. During one of her "checking-out" times Coraline had found this locked door in the drawing room and was curious to know what was behind that door. When her mom came home she had asked her and her mom found the key and unlocked the door. Coraline was shocked to see that all that was behind the door was bricks. After Coralines parents had left she had wondered and opened the door in curiosity and the bricks were disappeared and a room was now visible.... She had walked into the room and meet two people similar to her mother but one distinct difference, they had button eyes. What she was about to go through would forever change what her goal was to accomplish, to unlock her parents!
One thing that i liked about this book was that it was well thought and had a lot of amounts of detail. Another thing that i liked about this book was that the main character, Coraline, is curious much like i am. One dislike of this book is that there were not many characters as there would of been if Coralines mother and father were often included in events. Another dislike is that i would of liked to see Coraline interact more with her neighbor or next door tenet. I feel that this book would be most best read between the 7th and 9th grade age and if you like mystery genres. I would highly recommend this book to a friend.
