Speak

I read the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book was written in a first person perspective. When I read the back of this book it sucked me in. It was all that i wanted to read. I read it in a week which shows how interesting it was. It normally takes me five weeks to read one book. I thought it was really good and i give it a perfect ten.
This was a story about a girl named Melinda going through high school ( 7th Grade) and going through adolescence. She was a good kid and always went to all of her classes. Until this year. When all of her friends practically dump her because she called the cops at a summer party that all of her friends were at. So now she decides not to talk. Everyone thinks there is something wrong with her. She used to be popular until that summer party. Will she pass this year or will she have to deal with all of this drama all over again next year?
I like the types of books that are in first person perspective. I also liked that she explained everything. I didn't have to think about anything when I read it. She explained everything. I really liked everything about this book. There was nothing that i didn't understand or disliked about this book. I would recommend it to all of my friends. It was that good. People who like real life situations in books would defiantly like this book. I loved it so much. I would recommend it to girls more than boys because it is more of a girl book.
