13 To Life

I recently read the book 13 To Life by Shannon Delany. This book is fiction and is about a teenage girl who is going through a lot of changes in her life and just when she thinks she's back to normal, a very dangerous secret is discovered. I chose this book because one of my friends was reading it and it had a
very interesting cover.


In this book Jessica Gillmansen has gone through one of the worst experiences of her life. Her Mom passing away from a car accident caused by a joyride one of her fellow classmates was taking. Her classmate suffered severe brain damage, and when all of her friends abandoned her, Jessica stepped up and helped Sarah back onto her feet. Everything was almost back to normal until the Rusakovas arrived. A Russian family from Farthington where a wolf attack had recently happened. Jessica being the writer that she is wanted to ask questions right away after she got assigned as the hot junior Pietr Rusakova's guide to the school. All the girls were drooling over Pietr, but he didn't notice any girl except Jessica, who already had a long time crush on Derek Jamieson, the football star. As Jessica balances school, coping with her Mom's accident, Pietr, her friends, and Derek, she discovers that it's not going to be easy and that all this time Pietr's been hiding a dark, dangerous secret...


Two things I liked about this book were that it always had me wanting to read more, and that it felt like you were there! There was nothing that I didn't like about this book. This book is appropriate for ages 11 and up because some of the vocabulary in it and it might be hard to understand. I would definitely recommend this novel to a friend and people who like mystery, action, and romantic novels.
