The book I've read is quite the classic, and most people will know it by name. Romeo and Juliet, by the famous playwright William Shakespeare, is perhaps the original classic love story that tells the tale of forbidden love and its tragic consequences. It seemed appealing to read such a classic, so I went ahead and did just that.

The play tells the story of two lovers, Romeo and Juliet, from the Montague and Capulet families respectively, that decide to go against the wishes of their feuding families and be together; a story retold so constantly that it seems almost cheesy to read about it again. Despite their love for one another, the couple faces hardship and (Spoiler,) end up committing suicide for each other in a display of heartbreak and as a message toward the families to stop their pointless feuding.

In personal opinion, the written version of this tale is superior to the play version in that one can immerse themselves within the tale and feel the characters' sufferings. The book is beautifully written, and it's really no wonder that the theme of forbidden love hasn't died in the slightest since the time of Shakespeare. The book is appropriate for anybody with an open mind and an appreciation for classic literature and the English language.
