Beastly

The book I read was Beastly by Alex Flinn. The genre of this book is young adult fairytale fantasy. I picked this book because I had seen the movie and really liked it. I liked it because the girl fell in love with the guy even though he was different.

In the book Kyle was a popular kid who was cocky about his good looks. When Kyle was mean to a non-popular girl who was also a witch, she put a curse on him which took away his looks. Kyle wanted to find true love so he could break the curse. Kyle had one year to find someone who truly loved him for what was inside and not for his looks.

Two things I like about this book were the imagery and the love story. The author used lots of descriptive words which painted a picture in your head. There was nothing that I disliked about this book. I thought it was very well written and the story was amazing. The age group that I think is appropriate for this book is teens to young adults because of the descriptive words. I would recommend this book to my friends as a book to read in their spare time. Anyone who likes romance, a good story, and likes people for who they are would really enjoy this book.
