Stephen King - 1408

Stephen King's 1408, the room is evil. The plot focuses on a man who didn't believe in ghosts,  but now he KNEW there was something in the room of 1408. I chose 1408 because it was my favorite genre.
The book is about a man who decides it would be a good idea to test a room that has had . . . I can't remember how many deaths, but there were many, many, obscure deaths. The book ends with Enslin, the main character, finally saving himself from the torturous room.
Two things I liked about this book is the fact that this and The Shining both take place in hotels and I liked how Stephen King left some (possable) refences to his other works as well as the number 13.  This book is only for the most serious and mature readers, and for that I would not recommend this to most of the people I know. I think that people who like the horror genre would LOVE this book.
