White Oleander

I read White Oleander by Janet Fitch. This book is abot a girl and her story as she had to live in many different lives as she went from foster home to foster home after her mother was arrested. I choose this book because it looked like it would be a good book.
Astrid wanted everything to be normal, at least close to. After her mom was arrested, Astrid goes to foster home after home. Every bad thing that could possible go wrong, goes wrong and just when she thinks she has found a normal family, she gets sent away again.
I liked how the author goes into detail about how Astrid feels about her foster familys andthe people she encounters. I also like Astrid's story and how easy it is to understand her. I think this book is appropriate for people over the age of 12 because the author does not hold any details back in some parts. I would reccomend this to anybody who likes poetry or stories people can relate to because the author is very poetic and writes about stories people can understand easily.
