Beyonders 1: A World Without Heroes

 This book is about two teenagers who, by different means, unintentionally find a portal to a world that at one time, had open communication and travel with Earth called Lyrian. Sadly, there was a corrupt wizard named Maldor who had taken control of it. The teenagers, Jason and Rachael, search for a word to end Maldor's reign.The journey involves fighting ,manglers, conscription, and other horrid beasts. Also, they end up running from giant crabs and get put in imprisonment. They run into a multitude of new allies and enemies. The next book takes place a few earth months after.
