Everest: The Climb

The book i read is called Everest: The Climb. This book is the second in its series. The author of the book is Gordon Korman. I mainly choose this book because it would be a fast read and also is was in my series. The genera of this book is realistic fiction.
This book starts where the last book, Everest: The Contest, left off. The team Dominic is on stay at the camp at the base of the mountain and continues to train for a couple weeks. Sherpa a fifteen year old girl was to that day the youngest kid to climb Mount Everest. Dominic continues to want to climb and shows that throughout the second book. By always saying and showing emphasis of wanting to climb Mount Everest. His dream will be put in jeopardy though when he is diagnosed with HAPE. HAPE stands for high altitude pulmonary edema. While everything is still up in the air about weather Dominic will be able to climb a kid named Tilt is making  it worse. Tilt is sending secret messages to the tabloid back home insulting Dominic and the team. He is saying that the team should have never allowed Dominic to be on the team, etc. To know what else happens you must finish the book and read the third book also.
There are a few things that i liked about this book and a few that i didn't like. One thing that i liked was that they went into great detail explaining topic's and gear. Another thing that i like is that conflict is arising with Tilt and soon to be the rest of the team. One thing i dislike is that there is another book to read. Another is that this book was not as suspenseful as the last. This book would be appropriate for the age group of 5TH grade and up. I would recommend this to a friend. This book for would be great for climbers and outdoors men.
