The Scorch Trials

The Scorch Trials, by James Dashner, is the second book in the Maze Runner series. Thomas and the Gladers are safe in the confinements of their new home. A building where they recently escaped to with their rebel friends. When something horrible happens, Thomas and his friends must go on a dangerous journy, the second trial in the Killzone experiment.

Thomas and the Gladers are transported to an area in the Scorch, near a ruined city, filled with people infected with the Flare. These people are called Cranks. Before entering the city, Thomas and his friends are confronted by some Cranks in a small building a couple miles from the city. The leader introduces himself as Jorge, and his female friend is Brenda. Minho insults Jorge and Jorge kicks him in a severely burned spot on his leg.

 Furious, Minho attacks Jorge and all the other Cranks come out from upstairs. Thomas stops the fight and negotiates a deal with Jorge. Jorge and Brenda will help the Gladers safely enter the safe haven they are supposed to go to and in return they get a cure. Shortly after the deal was made, Jorge's other Crank friends blow up the entrance to the building. Thomas is separated from his friends and Jorge, whom Thomas still doesn't trust. He is trapped in the lower level with Brenda, and together they must find a way through the dark underground tunnels that were made under the city. If you would like to read more of this fantastic book, buy it because i'm not giving you my copy because it's so awesome i can't stop reading it.
